LingQ was instrumental for my language learning. When I began studying French, I would do cold reads of various stories. I knew NOTHING except “merci”, “bonjour,” and that’s about it. I remember reading the stories and being clueless as to the vocabulary. Through these cold reads I began to assess the language. It’s something I often do with other languages. I did it with Italian and Portuguese, and after French, with Catalan, Norwegian, and Indonesian.
I’m going to show you how you can import your favorite YouTube content into LingQ so you can actually study better. As you can see here, this is my imported YouTube video in my LingQ account. I can watch the video scroll along the transcriptions here and save my new words.

In this video, I’m going to explain how to import transcripts of your favorite Netflix shows into LingQ as lessons. You do this with the LingQ import extension. Once you have the extension, you should go to your favorite Netflix show and press play. Once you’re in the show, press pause. Next, make sure that the subtitles are available in your target language.
