Freezing in Estonia
I have this weird thing, to visit the maximum amount of countries possible in my lifetime, so even if it's only for a day, I don't back down. I always say yes to the opportunity of a day trip. Of course in Europe, it's a lot easier to cross borders from one country to another. Well, when in Finland we found out that there was a ferry that went from Finland to Estonia, a day trip, and it was just two hours. We also found out that a lot of Finn's go to Estonia to buy alcohol because it's a lot cheaper. If you go on this ferry ride, be aware of drunk people, including the musician hired to entertain the passengers on the journey! After the not-so-pleasant singing we were ready to check out Tallinn. It was icy, bitter cold, because we had arrived mid-winter in January. There was snow on the ground, but what got to us was the bitter wind. It was intense, and we were chilled to the bone. We didn't have warm enough clothes. We would spend 10 minutes walking outdoors and then find a store to go in to warm up. We sipped on hot chocolate and ate at the local bakery which was very tasty. We visited the old part of Tallinn which was super adorable with colorful houses and a medieval flare. We wandered in and out of stores for a good part of the day, making the most of it. Of course, we would have wished for more time there, even better, a day in the summer, but, with that being said, we don't regret the day we spent there!
