זֶה מַה שֶׁקָּרָה

כְּשֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא נָתַן אֶת הַתּוֹרָה:

צִפּוֹר לֹא צִיֵּץ וְלֹא נָתַן קוֹלוֹ בְּשִׁיר,

עוֹף לֹא פָּרַח וְלֹא הִתְעוֹפֵף בָּאֲוִיר,

שׁוֹר לֹא גָעָה, לֹא גָעֲתָה גַם פָּרָה

כְּשֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא נָתַן אֶת הַתּוֹרָה.

הַמַּלְאֲכִים בַּמֶּרְכָּבָה שֶׁלוֹ

עָצְרוּ בִּמְקוֹמָם.

הַמַּלְאֲכִים הַשָּׁרִים לוֹ "קָדוֹש קָדוֹש" -

קוֹלָם נָדַם.

הַיָּם לֹא נָע, לֹא רוּחַ, לֹא גַּלִּים.

בְּנֵי הָאָדָם לֹא דִבְּרוּ, נֶאֱלְמוּ הַמִּלִּים.

תֵּבֵל כֻּלָּהּ הֶחְרִישָׁה, וְכָל הַיְּקוּם הָעֲנָק

נֶעֱצַר וְשָׁתַק.

וְאָז נִשְׁמַע הַקּוֹל:

"אָנֹכִי ה' אֱלֹהֶיךָ".
