みなさん 、お 元気 です か ？ お 変わり は ありません か ？ 私 は とっても 元気 です 。 近況 として は 、先日 グリーンカード を 取得 した 話 を した のです が 、プロセス が 遅れていた 夫 の 分 も 無事 届きました 。 おめでとう 。 良かった です 。 私 も ね 、アメリカ に 来て から 何 年 も 働く こと が できなくて もどかしい 思い を していて 、今回 グリーン カード が 取れて 嬉しい です が 、なんてったって 夫 の 方 が ね 、もともと 私達 夫婦 が 今 アメリカ で 暮らしている のも 夫 の おかげ と いうか 、夫 の 人生 に 私 が join した 感じ な ので 、アメリカ で 働く こと 、暮らす こと 、そして グリーン カード を 取る という のを 私 なんか より も もっと 前 から 考えて 彼 は 目標 に してきた ので 、すごく 喜んでいます 。 夫 の プロセス に ついて も 、心配 や 応援 など の メッセージ を たくさん いただき まして 、ありがとう ございました 。 ようやく 、夫婦 そろって 、喜べます 。 それ から です ね 、いよいよ 、秋 セメスター 、コミュニティカレッジ の 秋学期 が スタート します 。 この エピソード を アップロード して いる 月曜日 から です ね 。 今 学期 は ついに 、ドキドキ の in-person の クラス 、対面 授業 も あります 。 全部 で 4 クラス 取る のです が 、2 クラス は オンライン 、もう 2 クラス は in-person と 半分 ずつ です 。 私 は ビジネス 専攻 で 、3 クラス が ビジネス 関連 の クラス 、もう 1 クラス が 英語 の クラス です 。 フルタイム で クラス を 取る の が 今 学期 が 2 学期 目 な のです が 、いよいよ 専門的な 授業 を 受ける こと に なります 。 ついて いける か なぁ 。 と 、とても 心配 です 。 前 の 学期 、春 学期 は 全部 の クラス が オンライン で 、オンラインって 自分 の ペース で できる のは いい です けど 、やっぱり 対面 で 実際に 教室 で 受ける 方が いい なぁ なんて 思っていました が 、いざ 始まる と なると 、めっちゃ ビビってます 。 大丈夫 かな ー 。 英語 が もちろん 心配 だ し 、そして 若者 に 混ざって の アウェイ な 状況 です が 、頑張りたい と 思います 。 授業 自体 、新しい こと を 学べる の は 楽しみです し 、また 経験 を 重ねられる ので 、色々な 意味 で ね 。 ビビって いて も 仕方ない ので 、逃げ腰 で は なくて ね 、積極的に 楽しんで 勉強して いきたい と 思います 。 さて 、本日 の エピソード で は アメリカ の ユニクロ に ついて お話したい と 思います 。 ★ 答えて ！ うた こさん ---4989 の リスナー の 皆さん から の ご 質問 に 答える コーナー です 。 カジュアルな 質問 から お 悩み 系 の 質問 まで 、募集 して います ので お 気軽に 送って ください ！ 今週 は Sunny さん から ただい た ご 質問 です 。 「日本 に も あって アメリカ に も ある お店 など の 比較 は どう でしょう か ？ 例えば 、服 で 言えば 、ユニクロ の サイズ 感 は 日米 比較 して 、違う と思う のです が 、アメリカ 在住 者 の 皆さん は 何 サイズ を 買ってます か ？ アメリカ の ユニクロ は サイズ 展開 が 多 すぎ です 。 近場 に ユニクロ が 無い ので 、定番 の タートル など は ネット で 購入 します 。 私 は ユニクロ 失敗 続き 。 しかも 日本 の ブランド の 製品 って 、基本 乾燥機 に 対応 して ない 気 が する ので 、乾燥機 に 入れたら さらに 縮んで しまって 、正解 の サイズ に 会える まで が 大変でした 。」 と いう ご 質問 、メッセージ を 頂きました 。 ありがとう ございます 。 洋服 の サイズ 問題 ね 、そう 、日本 と 違います よ ね 。 ご 質問 で は 、日本 に も あって アメリカ に も ある お店 という こと でした が 、私 は ユニクロ くらい しか 思いつか ない んです が 、あと は 何 か ありますっけ ？ 無印 と か どう なんだろう 。 アメリカ で は 無印 、アルファベット で MUJI って ブランド 名 で ブランド 名 ？ お 店名 ？ で 展開 してる んです けど 、ちょっと ね 、経営 が それほど 上手く 行ってない の か な 、西海岸 の 路面店 が 閉店 しちゃって 、今 ニューヨーク とか その辺 に しか 店舗 ない んじゃない か な 。 あと は ネット です ね 。 ネット で は 一応 MUJI USA で 購入 できる んです けど 、こっち の MUJI で は 洋服 買った こと が ない ので 、サイズ 感 とか わからない んです よね 。 どう な の か な 、無印 は 日本 の 商品 と 海外 展開 商品 と で サイズ って 違います か ？ ちょっと ご存知 の 方 、逆に 教えて 下さい 。 他 に は あります か ？ ユニクロ 、無印 以外 で アメリカ に ある 日本 の 洋服 の ブランド 。 ちょっと あまり 買い物 自体 を 私 あまり 普通に し ない ので 、経験 の ある ユニクロ の 話 に なります が 、アメリカ の ユニクロ は そう 、サイズ の 幅 が 広い んです よね 。 ただ 、日本 に ある サイズ より も 更に 大きな サイズ が ある とか で は なくて 、違う んです よ 。 これ が ね 、厄介 よ ね 。 厄介 よ ね 、奥さん 。 日本 で ユニクロ を めっちゃ 愛用 して いた 日本人 から する と 、アメリカ でも どこ でも サイズ 統一 して くれよ 、わかりにくい じゃないかって 思う んです けど 、でも 、やっぱり その サイズ とか その辺り の 調整 も 世界 で やっていく には 必要な んですかね 。 質問 で は 「アメリカ 在住 の 皆さん は 何 サイズ を 買って います か ？ 」と いう こと でした が 、一般的に は 日本 で 買っている サイズ よりも 1個 下 、1つ 小さい サイズ を 買うって いのが 目安 みたいな 感じ になっている らしい です ね 。 私 も 、これ 、ユニクロ に 限らず なんですけど 、アメリカ に 来て から 嬉しく も あり 、面倒くさく も なった 事 なんです が 、日本 で は 洋服 、特に パンツ です ね 、を 買う とき は 、何も 考えずに 一番 大きな サイズ と 手に とっていた んです よ 。 私 に 入る の は 一番 大きな サイズ 。 って の が 頭 の 中 に あって 、実際 そう で 。 むしろ ね 、パンツ の 種類 や ブランド に よって は 一番 大きな サイズ も パッツパツ で 入らない とか 、ウエスト 閉まらない とか あった ので 、パンツ を 買う ＝一番 大きな サイズ を 選ぶ 、そして 試着 絶対 。 だった んです 。 それ が アメリカ に 来て から 変わった んです 。 サイズ 選び が 難しい です 。 ユニクロ でも 、日本 で は 一番 大きい XL を 買って て 、オンライン とか で はね XXL とか ３Lとかも存在するみたいですけど、ということで基本、棚から一番大きなサイズであるXLを探して手に取る。 って 感じ だった んです が 、で 、定番 の なん でしたっけ ？ ストレッチスキニー 、違う 。 スキニーレギンス ？ レギンスパンツ ？ ウルトラレギンス ？ ちょっと もう 正確な 商品 名 が 出て こない んです が 、わかります よね 、皆さん 、定番の 、ユニクロの 。 みんな が 履いて る 、あれ です よ 。 私 も ずっと 履いて て 、日本 に いる ころ から 履いてる の か な ？ ともかく 、日本 で 買った 、その パンツ を ブラック と ブルー の デニム の やつ を 愛用 して て 、で 、なんか もう ブラック が くたびれて きた ので 、同じ 商品 。 商品 名 も 全く 一緒 。 あら びっくり 。 大きかった んです 。 結局 その XL も 手元 に 残して 履いてます が 、足 に ピッタリフィット する レギンスパンツ って いう より は 、ちょっと 余裕 の ある パンツ みたいな 感じ で 思っていた 欲しい もの と は ちがった ので その後 ひとつ サイズ を 下げて L 、 XL で は なくて L を 買いました 。 これ が さ 、ちょっと 嬉し いく 感じる ポイント で 、アメリカ に いる と ね 、甘やかさ れ る んでしょ 。 全然 大丈夫 、まだまだ 上 の サイズ ある から 、って いう 、本来 そこ で 安心 して は いけない ポイント で 安心 しちゃう って いう 。 日本 に いた 頃 の 私 で は 考えられ なかった です から ね 、まさか パンツ の サイズ を 下げる とは ね 、まさか 試着 して 「あー 、だめだ 、ちょっと 大き すぎる 」と 言う とは ね 。 いや ー 、 甘やかされて いる 。 とっても 。 昔 もしかしたら 話した こと ある かも です けど 、ずっと 前 です が 、スリフトショップって いう 、古着 屋 ？ セカンドハンド の お店 で 洋服 見てたら 、同じ ように お客さん で 洋服 を 見てた 知らない おばちゃん に 「あー 、あなた くらい 細ければ 何でも 着たい 服 が 着れる のに ね 、いい わねぇ 」って 話しかけられた こと が あって 、最初 ビックリ しすぎて 、ちょっと 理解する までに 時間 が かかりました 。 私 、生まれて から 一回 も 細かった こと が ない んです よ 、普通 体型 に も なって ない 、一回 も 。 これ まで の 人生 、常に 太って いる か 、もう 少し 優しい 言い方 を する と 、常に ぽっちゃり で 生きて きた んです よ 。 だから 、誰 か から 「細い 」って いう 単語 を 言わ れ る こと なんて なくて 、正直 超 絶 嬉しかった です 。 でも ね 、わかってます 。 私 は アメリカ と いう 国 に 甘やかされて る だけ なんです 。 アメリカ は 本当に 色 ん な 国 の 色 ん な人種 の人 が 集まってる ので 、 特に 欧 米 の人 たち は そもそも 骨格 が アジア人 と 比べて 違ったり こっち に いる と 、 こんな 私 でも 、 私 普通って 感覚 に なったり も する ん です が 、 それ は ここ に いて 、 街 中 で 色々な人 に 混ざってる 時 の 話 であって 、 日本人 の 友達 と 集まる と 、 明らかに 私 ひと り だけ デカ いし 、 もしも 日本 に 帰る と なったら 、 その 一 時 帰国 に 向けて ダイエット し なきゃって なります 。 そう 、アジア 人 、日本人 として の 適正 体重 、あと 美容 体重 って いう の ？ と 欧米人 の それ と は 違います から ね 。 ただ 甘やかされて いる って いう の を 忘れ ない ように しなきゃ です 。 日本 と か 韓国 と か の 、めっちゃ 細ければ いい ！ みたいな の は 極端 で 、それ が いい と は 思いません が 、人生 ノンストップ で ぽっちゃり な 私 は 、一度 で いい から 「ガリガリ 」って 言われたい 、とか 「風 が 吹いたら 飛んで いきそう 」って 言われたい です 。 そこ まで いく と 、ちょっと やりすぎ だ し 、というか 、絶対 私 に は 到達 不可能 な 領域 です が 、でも 日本人 の 平均 くらい まで に は なりたい なぁ 。 と 、話し つつ も ビール が 大好きで やめられない んで けど ね 。 ともかく 、話 が 飛び すぎて 元々 の テーマ が わから なく なって きました が 、そう 、サイズ 。 ユニクロ の サイズ 。 日本 より も アメリカ で 展開 されている 商品 の 方が 同じ サイズ 表記 でも 大きい です ね 。 あと 聞いた の が 、ワイシャツ とか の 袖 の 長さ が こっち の アメリカ で 売っている 方 が 長い んで すって 。 切ない 。 日本 で M サイズ の ワイシャツ を 着て た 人 が 、最初 同じ M を 買ったら 大きくて 、で 、 S サイズ に サイズ を 下げた んです けど 、体 周り 、胸 とか お腹 とか は それ で 良かった んです が 、袖 だけ が 長くて 、あれ ？ って なったって 話 を 聞いた こと が あります 。 切ない 。 ま ぁね 、日本人 は 手足 短い です から ね 。 だから 大きさ 、なんて いう んです か 、太さ も そうです けど 長さ の 面 でも 日本 の 商品 と は 違います 。 あと ね 、あれ も 違いました 。 パンツ じゃ なくて 、パンツ 。 お パンティ の 方 。 お パンティ って 、全 世界 に 向けて 話しちゃ いました 。 アンダーウェア です ね 。 ユニクロ に シームレスパンツ って ある の 知ってます ？ 縫い目 が ない やつで 、 履き 心地 も いい し 、 昔 から ずっと 同じ もの 履いてる ん です が 、 アメリカ の ユニクロ に も 売って て 、 新しい の 買おうって 思って 買ったら 、 サイズ の 面 で は お 話して きた 通り 、 やっぱり 日本 で 買ってる サイズ を 買う と 少し 大きい なって 感じて 、 ま ぁ １ つ 下 が いい か な と いう サイズ 感 だった ん です が 、 それ より も デザイン が 、 日本 の 商品 と は 違って 、 すごい 攻めてるっと いう か 、 ハイレグ まで は いか ないで す けど 、 結構 こう 、 ギュインって 前 の 方 が ね 、 攻めてる ねぇって デザイン で 、 今 だ と 日本 の ユニクロ でも 同じ シームレスパンツ に も デザイン の 種類 が あって 、 そういう より 深い カット の 、 商品 名 で いう と 「 ビキニ 」って いう の と か 、 あと 腰 の 部分 の 布 の 面積 が 少ない デザイン も ある みたい です けど 、 私 が 日本 で 買って た 時 は まだ そういう の が 無かった ん じゃない か なぁ 。 所 謂 、なんの セクシー さ も 感 ない 、ユニクロ って 感じ の 足 の 付根 まで カバー する ような スッポリ 。 って いう デザイン が 一般的 で 、それ に 慣れて いた ので 、アメリカ で 買う 時 も そんなに 色々 種類 が ある なんて 頭 に なかった から 何も 考えないで 買ったら 、わお 、めっちゃ 攻めてる やん 。 って 驚きました 。 っと まあ 、パンツ だけ で は なく 、パンツ も 違う よ と いう 話 を して みました が 、同じ ユニクロ で 日米 で 色々 違い が あります 。 質問 を くれた Sunny さん も 言ってました が 、アメリカ は 更に 基本 乾燥機 と いう 生活 な ので 、縮んだり とか いう こと を 考える と そういう 面 でも 、なかなか サイズ 選び が 難しい という こと でした ね 。 確かに 。 私 は ここ 数 年 、洋服 は スリフト の 古着 を 着る こと が ほとんど で 、新品 の 洋服 を 買う こと なんて 、もう 滅多に ない んです よ 。 な の で 普通の 洋服 屋 さん に 行って 、 同じ デザイン の 服 で どの サイズ を 買おう か 迷う ーって こと は 最近 は 経験 して いない ん です が 、 それ でも 特に パンツ と か は ね 、 ボトムス の 方 です ね 、 今回 は 。 パンツ は 、古着 でも 一応 サイズ ごと に ズラーっと 並んで たり します が 、結局 何 サイズ が ちょうど いい の か わから なくて 、サイズ 選び 苦労 します かね 。 もう 試着 する しか ないで すよね トップス は ね 、私 、結構 適当な ので 、日本 の ちゃんと されている 皆さん の ように ジャストフィット できれいに タートル を 着る 、カットソー を 着るって 感じ ではない ので 、適当に 買って 適当に 着るって 感じ です ね 。 皆さん は 、洋服 の サイズ で 苦労 した こと は あります か ？ アメリカ に 限ら ず 、 海外 の 他 の 国 で の 話 や 、 あと は 逆に ね 、 日本 に 住んで いる 海外 の 方 で 、「 おい 、 日本人 の 脚 、 短 すぎ だ ぜ ー 。 俺 の くるぶし 常に 見えちゃって る じゃ ない か ！ 」みたいな ね 、スタイル 抜群 が 故 の 悩み と か 苦労 話 と かも ね 、あれば ぜひ 教えて 下さい と いう こと で 今回 の 答えて うたこさん ！ で は ユニクロ の 話 を して みました 。 ★髪 の 毛 切りました ---そう いえば 、また 私 髪 を 切った んです よ 。 少し 前 、マイ ・フェイバリット の コーナー で セルフ カット に ハマってる って 話 を したんです が 、自分 で ね 、けっこう 短く 髪 切っちゃう っていう 。 その 時 に 、大人 に なって から 一番 短く した かも ！ って 話した んです が 、今回 更に 短く なりました 。 ユー チューブ の ビデオ 今 観て くださって いる 方 は わかる と 思います が 、ちょっと さ 、やりすぎ だ よね 。 ちょっと 自分 でも ジョキって いった とき に 、あれ 、やっちゃった かな 。 と 思いました 。 ちび まる こ ちゃん に なり そうな 勢い で 。 後ろ と か どうして いい か わから なくて 、全然 見え ない し 。 だから めっちゃ 適当な んです けど 、ひとまず 内巻き に ちょっと しとけば なんとか なる か な 、みたいな 。 なんとか なって る かなぁ 。 でも さ 、あれ です よね 。 絶対 後ろ の 方 そろって なくて 、一部 だけ 長い とか あるんです けど 、ほら 、対面 授業 、in-person の 授業 が 始まる でしょ 。 後ろ の 席 に 座って いる 人 に 、「あ 、この 人 の 髪型 変だ なー 。 後ろ の 長さ バラバラ だ な ー 。」 って 思わ れちゃ うか な 、と か 。 あと は ダンス を 教えて いる ので 、ダンス の レッスン 中 って 生徒 の 前 に 立って レッスン する こと が 多い ので 、みんな 私 の 後ろ姿 を 見ている わけです よ 。 「あ 、先生 の 髪 、ぴょん って 長い ところ が ある なぁ 」とかって 思われちゃう なぁって 思ってます が 、ちょっと 旦那さん に 頼んで 、あまりに も そろってない ところ は 切って もらおう と思います 。 一応 ね 、ユー チューブ で セルフ カット されて いる 方 の 動画 とか みて イメトレ して から 切った んです よ 。 でも 私 、髪 の 毛 の 量 が 半端 なく 多くて 、全然 ユー チューブ みたいに 上手く 切れ ない の 。 めっちゃ 多くて 。 すき バサミ と か あれば ちょっと 軽く できた かも です けど 、普通の 文房具 の ハサミ で 切って いる し 、本当 、これ です よ これ 。 普通 の この ハサミ で 切って て 、すみません 、ポッドキャスト の 方 、ハサミ 見え ない と 思います けど 。 本当に 安い その辺 の ハサミ です ね 。 とりあえず 、なんとか 形 に なって いる と は 思います 。 思いたい 。 でも なんか ちょっと 、老けた 感じ が する んです よね 。 ちょっと 気取って る マダム みたいな 、感じ が する んです よ 。 内巻き フフン っ みたいな 。 もう 若く は ない ので 、あまりに も 若者 な 感じ の 髪型 に する と 「若作り しちゃって ー 」って 言う 人 も いる と思います けど 、それ より も 本当に オバサンっぽい 髪型 に しちゃう と 、まじで オバサン 。 って なって しまい そうで 、ちょっと 怖い 。 しかたない んだ けど ね 、年齢 は ね 。 でも あと せめて ５ 年 。 ５ 年 位 は 、ほら 今 カレッジ に も 通ってる し 、ダンス も 教えてる し 、若々しく いたい なーって 思います けど 、わからない 、これ なんて いう んですか ね 、ボブ ？ セミロング ？ では な です よ ね 、ボブ ？ オバサン に 見え ない ように 、洋服 とか 髪型 の セット も 注意 したい と 思います 。 ま ぁ 短い の は 楽で いい です よね 。 シャンプー も 楽だ し 。 あ 、そう だった 、この 切った の と 同じ タイミング で 、初めて あれ です 、染めた んです よ 。 もう ね 、限界 だった 。 白髪 が 。 そう いえば 白髪 で 思い出した んです けど 、白髪って 英語 で は ホワイトヘアー で はなくて 、グレイヘアー って いう んです よね 。 ホワイト と も 言う の か な ？ ホワイト だ と 本当に 白髪 って こと なんですか ね ？ とにかく ね 、グレイヘアー の 方 が 一般的 です よ ね 。 で 、その グレイヘアー 、白髪 が さ 、もう 止めど なく 出て くる わけです よ 。 これ は もう だめだ と 。 で 、ついに 、ヘアーカラー に 手 を 出しました 。 白髪 染め で は なくて 、普通の カラー で 、暗めの 茶色 なんですが 、私 地毛 が 黒い ので 全然 わからないです けど 、白髪 の 部分 は ある程度 、染まった んじゃないのかな と 、今の所 思います 。 １０ 年 後 １５ 年 後 とか なら ある 程度 もう いい か なって なる かも です けど 、もう 少し 、あと ５ 年 、ちょっと ね 、白髪 交じり で 「なん や この オバハン 」って 若者 に なめられたく ない んで ね 、私 、ヘアカラー 生活 がんばります 。 そう 、切った 次の 日 か な 、スタバ の 駐車場 歩いてたら 、知らない オバサン に 「ちょっと ！ あなた の その ヘルシーな 髪 、素敵 ね 。 何 を 使ったら そうなる の ？ 」って いきなり 話 かけられました 。 こういう の 、アメリカ です よ ね 。 めっちゃ 急に 話しかけて くる 。 しかも 髪 質 に ついて 。 すんごい 勢い で 「 tell me what you are using 」って 言われて 、いや ー 、特に 何も ーって 感じ だった んで 、「いや 、普通の シャンプー だよ 」って 答えたら 、「普通って 何 よ 、そんな わけ無い わ 、その 普通の シャンプー が なんの シャンプー な の か 教えて よ 。 どこ の シャンプー な の よ 。」 みたいな 感じ です ごい 聞かれて 、ちょっと 困りました 。 ちなみに 今 は whole foods で この 前 セール に なってた シャンプー を 使ってる んです が 、「あー 、 whole foods の だよ ー 」って 答えて から 、「あ 、ま ぁ whole foods で 売ってる って こと は オーガニック で 髪 に いい の かも ねぇ 」って おばちゃん と 二人 で 納得 しました 。 今 思えば 、ヘアカラー を した 翌日 だった ので 、ほら 、髪 の 毛 染める 時 、染めた 後 に 使う 用 の トリートメント 剤 が ついてくる じゃないですか 、それ を 使った 直後 だった から 、それで もしかすると 健康的な ハリ ・ツヤ に 見えた の かも ですけど 、私 ほんと 、ずっと 女子力 低く 、アメリカ で は もちろん 、日本 でも あまり 美容院 に 行って なかった ので 、髪型 っていうか 、髪 自体 を 褒められた こと が 初めて で 、ちょっと うれしかった です 。 そんなこんな で 、また 更に 髪 の 毛 を 短く して みた と いう お話 でした 。
