在 地上 平安 歸 與 他 所 喜悅 的 人 （ 有古卷 作 ： 喜悅 歸 與 人 ）！ Peace on earth to those with whom he is pleased! 眾 天使 離開 他們 ， 升天 去 了 。 The angels left them and went to heaven. 牧羊 的 人 彼此 說 ： 我們 往 伯利恆 去 ， 看看 所成 的 事 ， 就是 主所 指示 我們 的 。 The shepherds said to each other: Let us go to Bethlehem, and see what has happened, which the Lord has shown us. 他們 急忙 去 了 ， 就 尋見 馬利亞 和 約瑟 ， 又 有 那 嬰孩 臥 在 馬槽 裡 ； 既然 看見 ， 就 把 天使 論 這 孩子 的話 傳開 了 。 They went hastily, and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger; and when they saw it, they spread the word of the angel about the child. 凡 聽見 的 ， 就 詫異 牧羊 之人 對 他們 所說 的話 。 All who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 馬利亞 卻 把 這 一切 的 事 存在 心裡 ， 反 復 思想 。 But Mary kept all these things in her heart and pondered them over and over again. 牧羊 的 人 回去 了 ， 因所 聽見 所 看見 的 一切 事 ， 正如 天使 向 他們 所說 的 ， 就 歸 榮耀 與 神 ， 讚美 他 。 滿 了 八天 ， 就給 孩子 行 割禮 ， 與 他 起名叫 耶穌 ； 這 就是 沒有 成胎 以前 ， 天使 所起 的 名 。 When the eight days were completed, the child was circumcised, and he named him Jesus; this is the name that the angels gave before they were conceived. 按摩 西 律法 滿 了 潔淨 的 日子 ， 他們 帶著 孩子 上 耶路撒冷 去 ， 要 把 他 獻 與 主 。 When the days of Mosaic were cleansed, they took the child up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. （ 正如 主 的 律法 上 所記 ： 凡 頭生 的 男子 必稱 聖歸主 ；） 又 要 照主 的 律法 上 所說 ， 或用 一對 班鳩 ， 或用 兩隻 雛鴿 獻祭 。 (As it is written in the Law of the Lord: Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord;) And according to the Law of the Lord, either a pair of doves or two young pigeons shall be sacrificed. 在 耶路撒冷 有 一個 人 ， 名叫 西面 ； 這人 又 公義 又 虔誠 ， 素常 盼望 以色列 的 安慰 者 來到 ， 又 有 聖靈 在 他 身上 。 There was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon; a righteous and godly man, who had been looking for the Comforter of Israel, and had the Holy Spirit on him. 他 得 了 聖靈 的 啟示 ， 知道 自己 未死 以前 ， 必 看見 主所立 的 基督 。 He received the revelation of the Holy Spirit and knew that before he died, he would see the Christ established by the Lord. 他 受 了 聖靈 的 感動 ， 進入 聖殿 ， 正 遇見 耶穌 的 父母 抱著 孩子 進來 ， 要照 律法 的 規矩 辦理 。 Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he entered the temple, and the parents who were meeting Jesus came in with the child in their arms, to do things according to the rules of the law. 西面 就 用 手 接過 他來 ， 稱頌 神說 ： 主阿 ！ 如今 可以 照 你 的話 ， 釋放 僕人 安然 去世 ； 因為 我 的 眼睛 已經 看見 你 的 救恩 ─ 就是 你 在 萬民 面前 所 預備 的 ： 是 照亮 外邦 人 的 光 ， 又 是 你民 以色列 的 榮耀 。 Now, according to your word, let your servant die in peace; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared before all peoples: a light for the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel. 孩子 的 父母 因 這論 耶穌 的話 就 希奇 。 The child's parents were amazed at what they said about Jesus. - 西面 給 他們 祝福 ， 又 對 孩子 的 母親 馬利亞 說 ： 這 孩子 被立 ， 是 要 叫 以色列 中 許多 人 跌倒 ， 許多 人 興起 ； 又 要 作 毀謗 的話 柄 ， 叫 許多 人心 裡的 意念 顯露出來 ； 你 自己 的 心 也 要 被 刀 刺透 。 - Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, the mother of the child: This child was erected to cause many in Israel to fall and many to rise; Your own heart will be pierced by the knife. 又 有 女 先知 ， 名叫 亞拿 ， 是 亞設 支派 法 內力 的 女兒 ， 年紀 已經 老邁 ， 從作 童女 出嫁 的 時候 ， 同 丈夫 住 了 七年 就 寡居 了 ， 現在 已經 八十四歲 （ 或作 ： 就 寡居 了 八 十四年 ）， 並不 離開 聖殿 ， 禁食 祈求 ， 晝夜 事奉神 。 There was also a prophetess named Anna, the daughter of Phanele of the tribe of Asher, an old woman who lived with her husband seven years from the time of her marriage as a virgin, and is now a widow of eighty-four years (or: He was a widow for eighty-four years), did not leave the temple, fasted and prayed, and served God day and night. 正當 那時 ， 他進 前來 稱謝 神 ， 將 孩子 的 事 對 一切 盼望 耶路撒冷 得 救贖 的 人 講說 。 At that moment he came forward to give thanks to God, and to speak of the child to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. 約瑟 和 馬利亞 照主 的 律法 辦完 了 一切 的 事 ， 就 回 加利利 ， 到 自己 的 城 拿 撒勒去 了 。 After Joseph and Mary had done everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their city of Nazareth. 孩子 漸漸 長大 ， 強健 起來 ， 充滿 智慧 ， 又 有神 的 恩 在 他 身上 。 The child grows, becomes strong, full of wisdom, and has the grace of God upon him. 每年 到 逾越節 ， 他 父母 就 上 耶路撒冷 去 。 Every year at Passover, his parents went to Jerusalem. 當他 十二歲 的 時候 ， 他們 按著 節期 的 規矩 上去 。 When he was twelve years old, they went up according to the rules of the feasts. 守滿 了 節期 ， 他們 回去 ， 孩童 耶穌 仍舊 在 耶路撒冷 。 When the feast was over, they went back, and the child Jesus was still in Jerusalem. 他 的 父母 並不知道 ， 以為 他 在 同行 的 人 中間 ， 走 了 一天 的 路程 ， 就 在 親族 和 熟識 的 人 中 找 他 ， 既 找 不著 ， 就 回 耶路撒冷 去 找 他 。 His parents did not know it, but they thought he was among those who were with him, and after a day's journey, they looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, and when they could not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to find him. 過了 三天 ， 就 遇見 他 在 殿裡 ， 坐在 教師 中間 ， 一面 聽 ， 一面 問 。 After three days, he found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening and asking questions. 凡 聽見 他 的 ， 都 希奇 他 的 聰明 和 他 的 應對 。 他 父母 看見 就 很 希奇 。 他 母親 對 他 說 ： 我兒 ！ 為 甚麼 向 我們 這樣 行 呢 ？ Why did it do this to us? 看 哪 ！ 你 父親 和 我 傷心 來 找 你 ！ Your father and I came to you sadly! 耶穌 說 ： 為 甚麼 找 我 呢 ？ 豈不知 我 應當 以 我父 的 事 為念麼 （ 或作 ： 豈不知 我 應當 在 我父 的 家裡麼 ）？ Don't you know that I should have my Father's business in mind (or: Don't you know that I should be in my Father's house)? 他 所說 的 這話 ， 他們 不 明白 。 They didn't understand what he said. 他 就 同 他們 下去 ， 回到 拿 撒勒 ， 並且 順從 他們 。 So he went down with them, and returned to Nazareth, and obeyed them. 他 母親 把 這 一切 的 事 都 存在 心裡 。 His mother kept all this in her heart. 耶穌 的 智慧 和 身量 （ 或作 ： 年紀 ）， 並神 和 人 喜愛 他 的 心 ， 都 一齊 增長 。 Jesus grew in wisdom and stature (or age), as well as in the love of God and man.
