في صباح اليوم التالي يستيقظان مبكرا. يغتسلان ثم ينزلان من غرفتيهما. يدخلان مطعم الفندق، ثم يأكلان طعام الإفطار، ويشربان الشاي التايلاندي اللذيذ. مطعم الفندق مزدحم في ذلك الوقت لأن كل الناس يريدون أن يشاهدوا تايلاند بعد طعام الإفطار. يسأل بيير جاك:

• كيف نبحث عن زوجة؟

- لا أدري. أنا لا أعرف أحدا هنا. يمكن أن نسأل صاحب الفندق أو

الموظف الذي يعمل في الفندق.
