Marc, chapitre 15

1 And immediately in the morning, the chief priests, taking counsel with the ancients, and the scribes, and the whole council, binding Jesus, led him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
2 Et interrogavit eum Pilatus : Tu es rex Judæorum ?
|||Pilate||||
At ille respondens, ait illi : Tu dicis.
But he answering, said to him: You say it.
3 Et accusabant eum summi sacerdotes in multis.
|were accusing him|||||
3 And the chief priests accused him of many things.
4 Pilatus autem rursum interrogavit eum, dicens : Non respondes quidquam ?
And Pilate again questioned him, saying: Answerest thou nothing?
vide in quantis te accusant.

Look at how many they accuse you.
|||||||"was amazed"|
5 But Jesus answered nothing more, so that Pilate was amazed.
|||festival|he was accustomed|||||"of the prisoners"||"they asked for"

6 Now on the feast day he was wont to release to them one of the prisoners, whomsoever they should ask.

And there was one who was called Barabbas, who was bound with the insurrectionists, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
||had ascended|||||||
8 And when the crowd had gone up, he began to pray, as he always did to them.
|||||||"I release"|||
||||||quereis|libertar|||
||||envy|"had handed over"|||
10 For he knew that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.

11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to release Barabbas rather to them.
12 Pilatus autem iterum respondens, ait illis : Quid ergo vultis faciam regi Judæorum ?
13 At illi iterum clamaverunt : Crucifige eum.
||||Crucify him.|
||novamente|||
But they again cried out: Crucify him.
14 Pilatus vero dicebat illis : Quid enim mali fecit ?
||||||evil|
At illi magis clamabant : Crucifige eum.
||||Crucify him.|

15 And Pilate, desiring to satisfy the people, released Barabbas to them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

25 And it was the third hour; and they crucified him.
26 Et erat titulus causæ ejus inscriptus : Rex Judæorum.

And the inscription of his accusation was written over: The King of the Jews.

28 And the scripture was fulfilled which says: And he was accounted among the unjust.
29 Et prætereuntes blasphemabant eum, moventes capita sua, et dicentes : Vah !

29 And those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, Aha!

||||mocking|||||||safe||||||
31 In like manner also the chief priests, mocking, said to one another with the scribes: He saved others; he cannot save himself.

And those who were crucified with him also insulted him.

33 And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole earth until the ninth hour.

35 And certain of the bystanders, upon hearing it, said, Behold, he calls Elijah.

39 And the centurion, who was standing in front of him, seeing that he had thus cried out, gave up the ghost, and said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
