Creo che la politica di Athaulf fosse l'unica possibile: Il suo sogno di rinnovare il nome Romano attraverso le armi Gotiche fu forse uno degli ultimi treni per l'occidente romano.
In un certo senso si avvererà un giorno, ma non prima di vedere l'occidente avvolto nelle fiamme della sua stessa caduta.
