Apocalipsis 18
**18·1** ¶ Καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον καταβαίνοντα ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἔχοντα ἐξουσίαν μεγάλην· καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐφωτίσθη ἐκ τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ.

18-1 ¶ And after these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was filled with joy because of his glory.
**2** καὶ ἔκραξεν ἐν ἰσχύϊ, φωνῇ μεγάλῃ, λέγων, Ἔπεσεν ἔπεσε Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη, καὶ ἐγένετο κατοικητήριον δαιμόνων, καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς πνεύματος ἀκαθάρτου, καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς ὀρνέου ἀκαθάρτου καὶ μεμισημένου.

2 And he cried with a loud voice in power, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, and is become a habitation of devils, and a stronghold of every unclean spirit, and a stronghold of every unclean and hateful spirit.
**3** ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου τοῦ θυμοῦ τῆς πορνείας αὐτῆς πέπωκε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς μετ̓ αὐτῆς ἐπόρνευσαν, καὶ οἱ ἔμποροι τῆς γῆς ἐκ τῆς δυνάμεως τοῦ στρήνους αὐτῆς ἐπλούτησαν.

3 That by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations fell, and the kings of the earth were moved with her, and the merchants of the earth were moved with her, and the merchants of the earth were filled with her power.
**4** ¶ Καὶ ἤκουσα ἄλλην φωνὴν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, λέγουσαν, Ἐξέλθατε ἐξ αὐτῆς ὁ λαός μου, ἵνα μὴ συγκοινωνήσητε ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτῆς, καὶ ἵνα μὴ λάβητε ἐκ τῶν πληγῶν αὐτῆς·

4 ¶ And I heard another voice out of heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not joined to her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
**5** ὅτι ἐκολλήθησαν αὐτῆς αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἄχρι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, καὶ ἐμνημόνευσεν ὁ Θεὸς τὰ ἀδικήματα αὐτῆς.

5 That her sins were committed unto heaven, and God remembered her transgressions.
**6** ἀπόδοτε αὐτῇ ὡς καὶ αὐτὴ ἀπέδωκεν ὑμῖν, καὶ διπλώσατε αὐτῇ διπλᾶ κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῆς· ἐν τῷ ποτηρίῳ ᾧ ἐκέρασε κεράσατε αὐτῇ διπλοῦν.

6 Ye gave her as she also gave you, and folded her in two according to her works: in the cup that she poured out ye poured her out in two.
**7** ὅσα ἐδόξασεν ἑαυτὴν καὶ ἐστρηνίασε, τοσοῦτον δότε αὐτῇ βασανισμὸν καὶ πένθος· ὅτι ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῆς Κάθημαι βασίλισσα, καὶ χήρα οὐκ εἰμί, καὶ πένθος οὐ μὴ ἴδω.

7 Which she hath glorified herself, and hath broken, then let her be tormented and mourned: for in her heart I sit a queen, and am not a widow, neither shall I see mourning.
**8** διὰ τοῦτο ἐν μιᾷ ἡμέρᾳ ἥξουσιν αἱ πληγαὶ αὐτῆς, θάνατος καὶ πένθος καὶ λιμός, καὶ ἐν πυρὶ κατακαυθήσεται, ὅτι ἰσχυρὸς Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὁ κρίνων αὐτήν.

8 Wherefore in one day shall her plagues be upon her, death, and mourning, and famine, and she shall be burned with fire, as the LORD God the strong judge of her.
**9** καὶ κλαύσονται αὐτήν, καὶ κόψονται ἐπ̓ αὐτῇ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς οἱ μετ̓ αὐτῆς πορνεύσαντες καὶ στρηνιάσαντες, ὅταν βλέπωσι τὸν καπνὸν τῆς πυρώσεως αὐτῆς.
|they will weep|||they will strike||||kings||||||fornicating||having lived luxuriously||see||smoke||burning|
9 And they shall cry unto her, and the kings of the earth shall be cut off for her, who have committed fornication and strife with her, when they see the smoke of her burning.
**10** ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἑστηκότες διὰ τὸν φόβον τοῦ βασανισμοῦ αὐτῆς, λέγοντες, Οὐαί, οὐαί, ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη Βαβυλών, ἡ πόλις ἡ ἰσχυρά, ὅτι ἐν μιᾷ ὥρᾳ ἦλθεν ἡ κρίσις σου.

10 They stood afar off for fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, O great city of Babylon, the mighty city, that in one hour thy judgment is come.
**11** καὶ οἱ ἔμποροι τῆς γῆς κλαίουσι καὶ πενθοῦσιν ἐπ̓ αὐτῇ, ὅτι τὸν γόμον αὐτῶν οὐδεὶς ἀγοράζει οὐκέτι·

**12** γόμον χρυσοῦ, καὶ ἀργύρου, καὶ λίθου τιμίου, καὶ μαργαριτῶν, καὶ βύσσου, καὶ πορφύρας, καὶ σηρικοῦ, καὶ κοκκίνου· καὶ πᾶν ξύλον θύϊνον, καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ἐλεφάντινον, καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ἐκ ξύλου τιμιωτάτου, καὶ χαλκοῦ, καὶ σιδήρου, καὶ μαρμάρου·

12 Of gold, and of silver, and of silver, and of precious stones, and of pearls, and of fine pearls, and of buffaloes, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine red brass, and of pearls, and of ivory, and of every vessel of precious wood, and of brass, and of iron, and of marble.
**13** καὶ κινάμωμον, καὶ θυμιάματα, καὶ μύρον, καὶ λίβανον, καὶ οἶνον, καὶ ἔλαιον, καὶ σεμίδαλιν, καὶ σῖτον, καὶ κτήνη, καὶ πρόβατα· καὶ ἵππων, καὶ ῥεδῶν, καὶ σωμάτων· καὶ ψυχὰς ἀνθρώπων.

13 And cinnamon, and incense, and myrrh, and ointment, and wine, and wine, and oil, and semidal, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chaff, and carcasses, and the souls of men.
**14** καὶ ἡ ὀπώρα τῆς ἐπιθυμίας τῆς ψυχῆς σου ἀπῆλθεν ἀπὸ σοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ λιπαρὰ καὶ τὰ λαμπρὰ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπὸ σοῦ, καὶ οὐκέτι οὐ μὴ εὑρήσῃς αὐτά.
||fruit||of desire||of your soul||has departed||||||fatty|||bright|has departed||||no longer|||you will find|them
14 And the hope of the desire of thy soul is sent forth from thee, and all riches and bright things are sent forth from thee, and thou shalt not find them.
**15** οἱ ἔμποροι τούτων, οἱ πλουτήσαντες ἀπ̓ αὐτῆς, ἀπὸ μακρόθεν στήσονται διὰ τὸν φόβον τοῦ βασανισμοῦ αὐτῆς, κλαίοντες καὶ πενθοῦντες,
|merchants|||having become rich||||from afar|will stand|||||of the torment||weeping||mourning
15 The merchants of these, which have been enriched by her, from afar stand up for fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,
**16** καὶ λέγοντες, Οὐαί, οὐαί, ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη, ἡ περιβεβλημένη βύσσινον καὶ πορφυροῦν καὶ κόκκινον, καὶ κεχρυσωμένη ἐν χρυσῷ καὶ λίθῳ τιμίῳ καὶ μαργαρίταις·

**17** ὅτι μιᾷ ὥρᾳ ἠρημώθη ὁ τοσοῦτος πλοῦτος.
||hour|was made desolate||so great|wealth
17 That in one hour the riches of the wilderness were made desolate.
καὶ πᾶς κυβερνήτης, καὶ πᾶς ἐπὶ τῶν πλοίων ὁ ὅμιλος, καὶ ναῦται, καὶ ὅσοι τὴν θάλασσαν ἐργάζονται, ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔστησαν,
|every|governor|||||ships||the crew||sailors||all those who|||work||from afar|stood
And every captain, and every captain of the ships, and every sailor, and every one that worketh in the sea, hath set up from afar,
**18** καὶ ἔκραζον, ὁρῶντες τὸν καπνὸν τῆς πυρώσεως αὐτῆς, λέγοντες, Τίς ὁμοία τῇ πόλει τῇ μεγάλῃ,
|were crying out|seeing||||||||||city||
18 And they looked, and saw the smoke of this furnace, saying, What like unto the great city,
**19** καὶ ἔβαλον χοῦν ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν, καὶ ἔκραζον κλαίοντες καὶ πενθοῦντες, λέγοντες, Οὐαί, οὐαί, ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη, ἐν ᾗ ἐπλούτησαν πάντες οἱ ἔχοντες πλοῖα ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ ἐκ τῆς τιμιότητος αὐτῆς, ὅτι μιᾷ ὥρᾳ ἠρημώθη.

**20** εὐφραίνου ἐπ̓ αὐτήν, οὐρανέ, καὶ οἱ ἅγιοι ἀπόστολοι, καὶ οἱ προφῆται, ὅτι ἔκρινεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸ κρίμα ὑμῶν ἐξ αὐτῆς.
rejoice||it|O heaven|||holy|apostles|||||has judged||||judgment|of you||
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and the holy apostles, and the prophets, that God hath judged your judgment by her.
**21** ¶ Καὶ ἦρεν εἷς ἄγγελος ἰσχυρὸς λίθον ὡς μύλον μέγαν, καὶ ἔβαλεν εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, λέγων, Οὕτως ὁρμήματι βληθήσεται Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη πόλις, καὶ οὐ μὴ εὑρέθη ἔτι.

21 ¶ And the angel took a mighty stone as a great millstone, and put it into the sea, saying, Thou hast cast a storm upon the great city of Babylon, and it is not found.
**22** καὶ φωνὴ κιθαρῳδῶν καὶ μουσικῶν καὶ αὐλητῶν καὶ σαλπιστῶν οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι, καὶ πᾶς τεχνίτης πάσης τέχνης οὐ μὴ εὑρεθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι, καὶ φωνὴ μύλου οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι,
||of the lyre players||||of flutists||of trumpeters|||be heard||you|yet|||artisan|of every|of art|||be found||||||of the mill||||||
22 And the voice of harpers, and of musicians, and of pipers, and of trumpeters, and of trumpeters, was not heard in thee, and every workman of all manner of work was not found in thee, and the voice of a mill was not heard in thee,
**23** καὶ φῶς λύχνου οὐ μὴ φανῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι, καὶ φωνὴ νυμφίου καὶ νύμφης οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι· ὅτι οἱ ἔμποροί σου ἦσαν οἱ μεγιστᾶνες τῆς γῆς· ὅτι ἐν τῇ φαρμακείᾳ σου ἐπλανήθησαν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη.
|light|of the lamp|||shine||||||of the bridegroom||of the bride|||||||||merchants||were||the great ones||||||pharmacy||they were led astray|||
23 And the light of a lamp shall not be seen in thee, and the voice of a bridegroom and of a bride shall not be heard in thee: that thy merchants are the great ones of the earth: that in thy pharmacy all the nations have prayed.
**24** καὶ ἐν αὐτῇ αἷμα προφητῶν καὶ ἁγίων εὑρέθη, καὶ πάντων τῶν ἐσφαγμένων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
