**21·1** ¶ Καὶ εἶδον οὐρανὸν καινὸν καὶ γῆν καινήν· ὁ γὰρ πρῶτος οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ πρώτη γῆ παρῆλθε, καὶ ἡ θάλασσα οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι.

21-1 ¶ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and the sea was not yet, neither was the sea.
**2** καὶ ἐγὼ Ἰωάννης εἶδον τὴν πόλιν τὴν ἁγίαν, Ἱερουσαλὴμ καινήν, καταβαίνουσαν ἀπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἡτοιμασμένην ὡς νύμφην κεκοσμημένην τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς.

2 And I John saw the holy city, Jerusalem the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned with the crown of her man.
**3** καὶ ἤκουσα φωνῆς μεγάλης ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, λεγούσης, Ἰδού, ἡ σκηνὴ τοῦ Θεοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ σκηνώσει μετ̓ αὐτῶν, καὶ αὐτοὶ λαοὶ αὐτοῦ ἔσονται, καὶ αὐτὸς ὁ Θεὸς ἔσται μετ̓ αὐτῶν, Θεὸς αὐτῶν·

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and the tabernacle with them, and these are his people, and this God is with them, the God of them.
**4** καὶ ἐξαλείψει ὁ Θεὸς πᾶν δάκρυον ἀπὸ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ θάνατος οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι· οὔτε πένθος, οὔτε κραυγή, οὔτε πόνος οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι· ὅτι τὰ πρῶτα ἀπῆλθον.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and death shall be no more: neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain: for the former things have come to pass.
**5** καὶ εἶπεν ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου, Ἰδού, καινὰ πάντα ποιῶ.

καὶ λέγει μοι, Γράψον· ὅτι οὗτοι οἱ λόγοι ἀληθινοὶ καὶ πιστοί εἰσι.

And he saith unto me, Write, that these words are true and faithful tickets.
**6** καὶ εἶπέ μοι, Γέγονεν.

6 And he said unto me, Gehenna.
ἐγώ εἰμι τὸ Α καὶ τὸ Ω, ἡ ἀρχὴ καὶ τὸ τέλος.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.
ἐγὼ τῷ διψῶντι δώσω ἐκ τῆς πηγῆς τοῦ ὕδατος τῆς ζωῆς δωρεάν.

I will give to the thirsty from the fountain of the water of life freely.
**7** ὁ νικῶν κληρονομήσει πάντα, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῷ Θεός, καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι ὁ υἱός.

7 The Nikon shall inherit all things, and I will be to him God, and he shall be to me the Son.
**8** δειλοῖς δὲ καὶ ἀπίστοις καὶ ἐβδελυγμένοις καὶ φονεῦσι καὶ πόρνοις καὶ φαρμακεῦσι καὶ εἰδωλολάτραις, καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς ψευδέσι, τὸ μέρος αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ λίμνῃ τῇ καιομένῃ πυρὶ καὶ θείῳ, ὅ ἐστι δεύτερος θάνατος.

8 And to the cowardly, and unbelieving, and to the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and heathen, and all liars, their part in the lake that is burnt with fire and with fire is the second death.
**9** ¶ Καὶ ἦλθε πρός με εἷς τῶν ἑπτὰ ἀγγέλων τῶν ἐχόντων τὰς ἑπτὰ φιάλας τὰς γεμούσας τῶν ἑπτὰ πληγῶν τῶν ἐσχάτων, καὶ ἐλάλησε μετ̓ ἐμοῦ, λέγων, Δεῦρο, δείξω σοι τὴν νύμφην τοῦ ἀρνίου τὴν γυναῖκα.

**10** καὶ ἀπήνεγκέ με ἐν Πνεύματι ἐπ̓ ὄρος μέγα καὶ ὑψηλόν, καὶ ἔδειξέ μοι τὴν πόλιν τὴν μεγάλην, τὴν ἁγίαν Ἱερουσαλήμ, καταβαίνουσαν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ.

10 And move me in the Spirit to a great and high place, and show me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from God.
**11** ἔχουσαν τὴν δόξαν τοῦ Θεοῦ· καὶ ὁ φωστὴρ αὐτῆς ὅμοιος λίθῳ τιμιωτάτῳ, ὡς λίθῳ ἰάσπιδι κρυσταλλίζοντι·

11 They have heard the glory of God: and her light is like unto a stone of honour, as the crystal of a jasper stone.
**12** ἔχουσάν τε τεῖχος μέγα καὶ ὑψηλόν, ἔχουσαν πυλῶνας δώδεκα, καὶ ἐπὶ τοῖς πυλῶσιν ἀγγέλους δώδεκα, καὶ ὀνόματα ἐπιγεγραμμένα, ἅ ἐστι τῶν δώδεκα φυλῶν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ.

12 And they had a great and high wall, and twelve pillars, and on the pillars twelve angels, and names written, even the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
**13** ἀπ̓ ἀνατολῆς, πυλῶνες τρεῖς· ἀπὸ βορρᾶ, πυλῶνες τρεῖς· ἀπὸ νότου, πυλῶνες τρεῖς· καὶ ἀπὸ δυσμῶν, πυλῶνες τρεῖς·

13 From the east, three pylons; from the north, three pylons; from the south, three pylons; and from the west, three pylons.
**14** καὶ τὸ τεῖχος τῆς πόλεως ἔχον θεμελίους δώδεκα, καὶ ἐν αὐτοῖς ὀνόματα τῶν δώδεκα ἀποστόλων τοῦ ἀρνίου.

14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
**15** καὶ ὁ λαλῶν μετ̓ ἐμοῦ εἶχε κάλαμον χρυσοῦν, ἵνα μετρήσῃ τὴν πόλιν, καὶ τοὺς πυλῶνας αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ τεῖχος αὐτῆς.

15 And the man that was with me had a golden rod to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
**16** καὶ ἡ πόλις τετράγωνος κεῖται, καὶ τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς τοσοῦτόν ἐστιν ὅσον καὶ τὸ πλάτος.

16 And the city is square, and the length thereof is as long as the breadth thereof.
καὶ ἐμέτρησε τὴν πόλιν τῷ καλάμῳ ἐπὶ σταδίων δώδεκα χιλιάδων· τὸ μῆκος καὶ τὸ πλάτος καὶ τὸ ὕψος αὐτῆς ἴσα ἐστί.

And he measured the city in the well by twelve thousand paces: the length, and the breadth, and the height thereof, were the same.
**17** καὶ ἐμέτρησε τὸ τεῖχος αὐτῆς ἑκατὸν τεσσαρακοντατεσσάρων πηχῶν, μέτρον ἀνθρώπου, ὅ ἐστιν ἀγγέλου.

17 And he measured the wall thereof an hundred and forty and four cubits, the measure of a man, which was an angel.
**18** καὶ ἦν ἡ ἐνδόμησις τοῦ τείχους αὐτῆς, ἴασπις· καὶ ἡ πόλις χρυσίον καθαρόν, ὁμοία ὑάλῳ καθαρῷ.

18 And the building of the wall thereof is a jasper: and the city is pure gold, like unto gold, clean as glass.
**19** καὶ οἱ θεμέλιοι τοῦ τείχους τῆς πόλεως παντὶ λίθῳ τιμίῳ κεκοσμημένοι.

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all the litho honour.
ὁ θεμέλιος ὁ πρῶτος, ἴασπις· ὁ δεύτερος, σάπφειρος· ὁ τρίτος, χαλκηδών· ὁ τέταρτος, σμάραγδος·

The foundation, the first, jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, smaragdos;
**20** ὁ πέμπτος, σαρδόνυξ· ὁ ἕκτος, σάρδιος· ὁ ἕβδομος, χρυσόλιθος· ὁ ὄγδοος, βήρυλλος· ὁ ἔννατος, τοπάζιον· ὁ δέκατος, χρυσόπρασος· ὁ ἑνδέκατος, ὑάκινθος· ὁ δωδέκατος, ἀμέθυστος.

20 The fifth, a sardonyx; the sixth, a sardius; the seventh, a chrysolite; the eighth, a beryl; the ninth, a topazion; the tenth, a chrysoprase; the eleventh, a hyacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
**21** καὶ οἱ δώδεκα πυλῶνες, δώδεκα μαργαρῖται· ἀνὰ εἷς ἕκαστος τῶν πυλώνων ἦν ἐξ ἑνὸς μαργαρίτου· καὶ ἡ πλατεῖα τῆς πόλεως χρυσίον καθαρόν, ὡς ὕαλος διαφανής.

21 And the twelve pillars, twelve pearls: there was one pearl in each of the pillars; and the street of the city was pure gold, as clear as glass.
**22** καὶ ναὸν οὐκ εἶδον ἐν αὐτῇ· ὁ γὰρ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ναὸς αὐτῆς ἐστί, καὶ τὸ ἀρνίον.
22 And I saw no temple in it: for the LORD God Almighty is the temple thereof, and the lamb.
**23** καὶ ἡ πόλις οὐ χρείαν ἔχει τοῦ ἡλίου, οὐδὲ τῆς σελήνης, ἵνα φαίνωσιν ἐν αὐτῇ· ἡ γὰρ δόξα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐφώτισεν αὐτήν, καὶ ὁ λύχνος αὐτῆς τὸ ἀρνίον.

23 And the city hath neither the sun nor the moon to be seen in it: for the glory of God hath made it, and its lamp the lamb.
**24** καὶ τὰ ἔθνη τῶν σωζομένων ἐν τῷ φωτὶ αὐτῆς περιπατήσουσι· καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς φέρουσι τὴν δόξαν καὶ τὴν τιμὴν αὐτῶν εἰς αὐτήν.

24 And the nations of the saved shall walk in her fire: and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honour into her.
**25** καὶ οἱ πυλῶνες αὐτῆς οὐ μὴ κλεισθῶσιν ἡμέρας (νὺξ γὰρ οὐκ ἔσται ἐκεῖ)·

25 And the pillars thereof shall not be shut up for a day (for there is no night there).
**26** καὶ οἴσουσι τὴν δόξαν καὶ τὴν τιμὴν τῶν ἐθνῶν εἰς αὐτήν·

26 And they call the glory and honour of the Gentiles unto it.
**27** καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθῃ εἰς αὐτὴν πᾶν κοινοῦν, καὶ ποιοῦν βδέλυγμα καὶ ψεῦδος· εἰ μὴ οἱ γεγραμμένοι ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῆς ζωῆς τοῦ ἀρνίου.

27 And let not all commons enter into it, and do abomination and lies, except they that are written in the book of the life of the Lamb.
