Elisa: Ciao a tutti da Elisa e Cesare. Oggi 7 novembre 2008 va in onda la settima puntata di Dolce metà. Il primo argomento riguarda Halloween. Questa festa delle zucche [1] non conosce crisi e anche quest'anno - almeno a Zurigo - le vetrine erano piene di maschere e dolci pitturati di arancione e nero.

Cesare: Ogni anno è sempre peggio. Ma possibile che ogni cosa che arriva dall'America deve essere ripresa tra le nostre abitudini? Che razza di festa è? Mascherarsi e girare a minacciare [2] la gente con la domanda: dolcetto o scherzetto?

Elisa: Cesare, è una festa per bambini? Che male c'è?

Cesare: Ma secondo te i bambini oggi hanno bisogno di una festa del genere per divertirsi? Senza neppure sapere cosa festeggiano.

Elisa: Ma dai, cosa vuoi che importi ai bambini la celebrazione dei morti ed in particolare quella dei Santi. Perché è questo il significato, o no?

Cesare: Sì, Elisa. Halloween significa "vigilia di Ognissanti". È una tradizione cristiana trasformata dai protestanti in una festa di fantasmi [3] e mostri [4].

Elisa: Ma noi viviamo in una città di protestanti.

Cesare: Adesso non vorrai dirmi che tutti quelli che festeggiano Halloween sono consapevoli [5] di questo fatto.

Elisa: Senti Cesare, perché l'anno prossimo non vai nelle scuole a spiegare il significato di Halloween.

Cesare: Proprio una bella idea. Organizzo un workshop e distribuisco volantini [6] in tutto il quartiere. Scherzi a parte. Ognuno può fare quello che vuole, ma almeno sapere quello che si festeggia non sarebbe male, o no?

Elisa: Su questo hai ragione. Non solo consumare, ma anche riflettere un po'. In questo periodo, poi, nel Canton Zurigo c'è il Räbelichtliumzug. La processione con le lanterne di rapa... e normalmente spetta ai papà tagliuzzare [7] e preparare le rape per i bambini.

Cesare: Sì, lo so. Per fortuna adesso le preparano già a scuola. Io fino a qualche anno fa non sapevo nemmeno che esistessero queste rape.

Elisa: Dai non eri l'unico. Gli svizzeri tedeschi non vogliono sentir parlare di Santi e i ticinesi e gli italiani non sanno che esiste questo corteo delle rape.

Cesare: Allora Elisa, visto che sei cresciuta a Zurigo spiega un po' tu questa tradizione.

Elisa: La tradizione zurighese non è nata da un avvenimento leggendario. Il significato del corteo è legato invece al raccolto degli ultimi prodotti dei campi. Queste rape e le patate facevano parte dell'alimentazione di base della regione. Il corteo con le rape svuotate con una candela dentro è quindi una festa di ringraziamento. I motivi che vengono incisi [8] nelle rape sono il sole, la luna e le stelle.

Cesare: E con la candela che c'è dentro la rapa si creano dei bei spettacoli di luce. Ecco questa tradizione, a differenza di Halloween, la accetto e la seguo volentieri. È una tradizione cantonale e non arriva da chissà dove.

Elisa: Ti ricordo che qualche anno fa non la pensavi così.

Cesare: Dai Elisa, a Zurigo per il corteo delle rape fa sempre un freddo. Capirai che non è facile accettare di girare (un anno addirittura sotto l'acqua) per le stradine e cantare in svizzero-tedesco le solite due o tre strofe.

Elisa: Sì, devo ammettere che sei stato coraggioso, anche se a preparare le rape sei rimasto un disastro. Cari ascoltatori, voltiamo ora pagina. La scorsa puntata vi avevamo consigliato di andare a vedere il film "Gomorra". Io l'ho visto e devo dire che sono ancora abbastanza sotto choc. Il film mostra chiaramente le diverse facce [9] della camorra. Compresi i piccoli personaggi. È una denuncia spietata che fa riflettere.

Cesare: Saviano [10] poi ha ricevuto diversi premi e, suo malgrado, è su tutti i giornali e al centro delle discussioni.

Elisa: Poverino. Ormai vive sotto protezione e un paio di settimane fa ha detto che voleva lasciare l'Italia. Non penso che quando stava scrivendo il romanzo, potesse immaginare tutto quello che sta succedendo.

Cesare: È vero. Comunque ha reagito alla grande. Ora in Italia è diventato un esempio, un simbolo di libertà.

Elisa: E sul sito repubblica.it si può firmare una lettera di sostegno a Saviano. Pensate, in pochi giorni, sono state raccolte più di 200'000 firme [11].

Cesare: Cari ascoltatori, la scorsa puntata vi avevamo presentato la nuova rubrica di libri. Oggi vi proponiamo un seguito.

Elisa: Questa volta vi proponiamo un paio di libri pubblicati con un supporto audio.

Cesare: Per l'italiano questo settore è ancora poco esplorato. Rispetto al tedesco, non sono tanti i libri che si possono ascoltare.

Elisa: È vero. In tedesco sono spesso disponibili su CD anche libri recenti. Per me è una grande comodità. Li carico sul mio iPod e posso riascoltarli più volte. Nel frattempo magari riesco a fare anche qualcos'altro.

Cesare: Elisa, riascolti i capitoli perché spesso ti addormenti ancora con le cuffiette [12] nelle orecchie.

Elisa: A volte è vero. Comunque questi libri su CD permettono anche a noi donne di fare più cose contemporaneamente. Una qualità che voi uomini vi sognate.

Cesare: Ma non volevamo proporre ai nostri ascoltatori qualche lettura?

Elisa: Sì, è meglio passare ai consigli. Il primo riguarda le pubblicazioni "Imparare leggendo". In particolare "La fuga di Bach". Un giallo avvincente che coinvolge il mondo dello spettacolo e le ballerine classiche.

Cesare: Il secondo consiglio è una novità. Recentemente ho visto che sono disponibili anche brevi storie del commissario Montalbano. Anche in questo caso le pubblicazioni sono accompagnate da un CD.

Elisa: Lasciamo i consigli e, per così dire, chiediamo qualche consiglio ai gli nostri ascoltatori. Il tema riguarda le discussioni in famiglia, quando ci sono gli ospiti a cena.

Cesare: Cari ascoltatori, immagino che sia un problema noto anche a voi. Domani sera, per esempio, saremo in 11 a tavola e quindi bisogna prepararsi bene.

Elisa: Per fortuna è la prima volta che vengono. Per fortuna, nel senso che possiamo preparare qualsiasi menu. Senza correre il rischio di mettere in tavola un piatto già servito un'altra volta.

Cesare: Sì, questo è vero. Comunque 11 è un bel numero. Non si poteva fare in due volte?

Elisa: Non cominciare. Abbiamo impiegato mesi per trovare una data libera. E poi parlando così non risolvi il problema. Per così tante persone potresti fare la paella.

Cesare: Lo sai che non ho più il treppiedi [13]. E poi a Flavia il pesce non piace.

Elisa: Me ne ero dimenticata. Secondo me, Flavia è una delle poche siciliane che non mangiano il pesce. Allora potresti preparare almeno il risotto.

Cesare: Sul risotto sono d'accordo. Ma per favore lasciami mettere il vino rosso e burro a sufficienza.

Elisa: Sul burro fai quello che vuoi. Chiuderò un occhio o forse anche due. Ma per il vino non potresti usare quello bianco? Il proverbio dice "il riso nasce nell'acqua e muore nel vino". Ma non si dice che il vino deve essere rosso.

Cesare: Certo, lo sai però che a me piace poi bere il vino che uso per la preparazione. E normalmente il risotto si accompagna con un buon bicchiere di Merlot. E poi, scusa, chi lo cucina? E se vuoi una risposta con un proverbio "troppi cuochi rovinano il ... risotto".

Elisa: Ok. Anche questa volta hai vinto tu. Spero però che prima o poi mi accontenterai.

Cesare: Se proprio vuoi un bianco, possiamo aprire una bottiglia per l'aperitivo.

Elisa: E no. Per l'aperitivo non si discute. Prosecco. Nei bicchieri di cristallo, per favore.

Cesare: Nei bicchieri di cristallo. Va bene. Ma poi chi li lava? Lo sai che non si possono mettere nella lavastoviglie.

Elisa: Non pensare al dopo. Torniamo a discutere della preparazione.

Cesare: Intanto stavo pensando se mettere nel risotto i funghi e un paio di castagne. Per dare un tocco autunnale: giallo del risotto, marrone delle castagne e dei funghi. E tu potresti cucinare una peperonata, soprattutto a base di peperoni rossi. Anche l'occhio vuole la sua parte.

Elisa: Ricominciamo? Comunque per la peperonata va bene. Mi sembra una buona idea. Ora rimane da decidere la carne.

Cesare: Sei sicura che non ci siano vegetariani?

Elisa: Al limite si possono sempre servire i formaggi con il risotto.

Cesare: I formaggi finiranno sulla tavola in ogni caso.

Elisa: Ma sì, non preoccuparti. Era solo un'alternativa per chi non mangia la carne. Senti Cesare, perché per la carne non chiediamo ai bambini?

Cesare: Basta che Ilaria non ci tormenti con le sue richieste bio.

Elisa: Guarda che anche io la penso un po' come lei.

Cesare: Se è per questo anch'io. Ma non voglio girare mezza città per trovare quello che vuole nostra figlia in formato bio.

Elisa: Non fare il pessimista. Magari la troviamo subito nella nostra Migros di quartiere. Cominciamo a chiederle cosa vuole.
