約翰福音6
這事 以後 ， 耶穌 渡過 加利利 海 ， 就是 提比哩亞 海 。
有 許多 人 因為 看見 他 在 病人 身上 所行 的 神蹟 ， 就 跟隨 他 。
耶穌 上 了 山 ， 和 門徒 一同 坐在 那裡 。
Jesus went up the mountain and sat there with his disciples.
那時 猶太人 的 逾越節 近 了 。
耶穌 舉目 看見 許多 人來 ， 就 對 腓力 說 ： 我們 從 那裡 買 餅 叫 這些 人 吃 呢 ？
When Jesus lifted up his eyes and saw many people coming, he said to Philip, Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?
他 說 這話 是 要 試驗 腓力 ； 他 自己 原 知道 要 怎樣 行 。
He said this to test Philip; he himself knew what to do.
腓力 回答 說 ： 就是 二十兩 銀子 的餅 ， 叫 他們 各人 吃 一點 也 是 不夠 的 。
有 一個 門徒 ， 就是 西門 彼得 的 兄弟 安得烈 ， 對 耶穌 說 ： 在 這裡 有 一個 孩童 ， 帶著 五個 大麥 餅 、 兩條 魚 ， 只是 分給 這 許多 人 還 算 甚麼 呢 ？
One of the disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Jesus, "Here is a child with five barley loaves and two fish, but what is it to be distributed among these many?
耶穌 說 ： 你們 叫眾 人 坐下 。
Jesus said: Sit the crowd down.
原來 那 地方 的 草 多 ， 眾人 就 坐下 ， 數目 約 有 五千 。
It turned out that there was a lot of grass in that place, and the people sat down, about five thousand in number.
耶穌 拿 起餅 來 ， 祝謝 了 ， 就 分給 那 坐 著 的 人 ； 分 魚 也 是 這樣 ， 都 隨著 他們 所要 的 。
Jesus took the bread, gave thanks, and gave it to those who were seated; so did the fish, as they wanted.
他們 吃飽 了 ， 耶穌 對 門徒 說 ： 把 剩下 的 零碎 收拾 起來 ， 免得 有 糟蹋 的 。
他們 便將 那 五個 大麥 餅的 零碎 ， 就是 眾人 吃 了 剩下 的 ， 收拾 起來 ， 裝滿 了 十二個 籃子 。
Then they gathered up the pieces of the five barley loaves, which the crowd had eaten, and filled twelve baskets.
眾人 看見 耶穌 所行 的 神蹟 ， 就 說 ： 這 真是 那要 到 世間 來 的 先知 ！
When the people saw the miracles that Jesus did, they said, "This is really the prophet who is to come into the world!"
耶穌 既 知道 眾人 要來 強逼 他 作王 ， 就 獨自 又 退 到 山上 去 了 。
Knowing that the crowds were coming to force him to be king, Jesus withdrew to the mountain again by himself.
到 了 晚上 ， 他 的 門徒 下 海邊 去 ， 上 了 船 ， 要 過海 往 迦百農 去 。
天 已經 黑 了 ， 耶穌 還 沒有 來到 他們 那裡 。
忽然 狂風 大作 ， 海 就 翻騰 起來 。
門徒 搖櫓 ， 約 行 了 十 里 多 路 ， 看見 耶穌 在 海面 上 走 ， 漸漸 近 了 船 ， 他們 就 害怕 。
The disciples swayed and traveled about ten miles. When they saw Jesus walking on the sea and getting nearer to the boat, they were afraid.
耶穌 對 他們 說 ： 是 我 ， 不要 怕 ！
門徒 就 喜歡 接 他 上船 ， 船 立時 到 了 他們 所要 去 的 地方 。
The disciples liked to take him into the boat, and the boat was at the place where they were going.
第二日 ， 站 在 海 那邊 的 眾人 知道 那裡 沒有 別的 船 ， 只有 一隻 小船 ， 又 知道 耶穌 沒有 同 他 的 門徒 上船 ， 乃是 門徒 自己 去 的 。
On the second day, the people who were standing on the other side of the sea knew that there was no other boat there but a small boat, and that Jesus did not go into the boat with his disciples, but that the disciples went by themselves.
然而 ， 有 幾隻 小船 從 提比哩亞 來 ， 靠近 主 祝謝 後 分 餅 給 人 吃 的 地方 。
However, a few small boats came from Tiberias, near the place where the Lord had given the bread to eat.
眾人見 耶穌 和 門徒 都 不在 那裡 ， 就 上 了 船 ， 往迦百農去 找 耶穌 。
When the people saw that neither Jesus nor the disciples were there, they got into the boat and went to Capernaum to find Jesus.
既 在 海 那邊 找著 了 ， 就 對 他 說 ： 拉比 ， 是 幾時 到 這裡 來 的 ？
And when he found it on the other side of the sea, he said to him, Rabbi, when did you come here?
耶穌 回答 說 ： 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你們 ， 你們 找 我 ， 並 不是 因見 了 神蹟 ， 乃是 因吃餅 得 飽 。
Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you came to me not because you saw signs, but because you ate the bread and were full.
不要 為 那 必 壞 的 食物 勞力 ， 要 為 那 存 到 永生 的 食物 勞力 ， 就是 人子 要 賜給 你們 的 ， 因為 人子 是 父神 所 印證 的 。
Do not labor for the perishable food, but for the food that endures eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for the Son of Man is sealed by God the Father.
眾人問 他 說 ： 我們 當行 甚麼 ， 才 算 做 神 的 工 呢 ？
The crowd asked him, "What must we do to be considered the work of God?"
耶穌 回答 說 ： 信神 所差 來 的 ， 這 就是 做神 的 工 。
Jesus replied: Believe in what God has sent, and this is the work of God.
他們 又 說 ： 你行 甚麼 神蹟 ， 叫 我們 看見 就 信 你 ； 你 到底 做 甚麼 事 呢 ？
And they said, What miracles do you do that we will see and believe in you; what have you done?
我們 的 祖宗 在 曠野 吃過 嗎哪 ， 如經 上 寫 著 說 ： 他 從 天上 賜 下 糧 來 給 他們 吃 。
Our ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
耶穌 說 ： 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你們 ， 那 從 天 上來 的 糧 不是 摩西 賜給 你們 的 ， 乃是 我父 將天 上來 的 真 糧 賜給 你們 。
Jesus said: I tell you the truth, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but my Father gave you the true bread from heaven.
因為 神 的 糧 就是 那 從 天上 降下來 、 賜 生命 給 世界 的 。
For the bread of God is that which came down from heaven to give life to the world.
他們 說 ： 主阿 ， 常 將 這 糧 賜給 我們 ！
They said: Lord, give us this bread always!
耶穌 說 ： 我 就是 生命 的 糧 。
Jesus said: I am the bread of life.
到 我 這裡 來 的 ， 必定 不餓 ； 信 我 的 ， 永遠 不渴 。
只是 我 對 你們 說過 ， 你們 已經 看見 我 ， 還是 不 信 。
凡 父 所 賜給 我 的 人 必 到 我 這裡 來 ； 到 我 這裡 來 的 ， 我 總 不 丟棄 他 。
Whoever the Father gives me will come to me; whoever comes to me, I will not cast away.
因為 我 從 天上 降下來 ， 不是 要 按 自己 的 意思 行 ， 乃是 要 按 那 差 我 來者 的 意思 行 。
For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
差 我 來者 的 意思 就是 ： 他 所 賜給 我 的 ， 叫 我 一個 也 不 失落 ， 在 末日 卻 叫 他 復活 。
The meaning of the one who sent me is this: I shall lose none of what he has given me, but raise him up at the last day.
因為 我父 的 意思 是 叫 一切 見 子 而 信 的 人 得 永生 ， 並且 在 末日 我要 叫 他 復活 。
For it is my Father's will that all who see the Son and believe in him have eternal life, and that I will raise him up on the last day.
猶太人 因為 耶穌 說 我 是從 天上 降下來 的 糧 ， 就 私下 議論 他 ， 說 ： 這 不是 約瑟 的 兒子 耶穌 麼 ？
The Jews murmured against Jesus in private because he said that I am the bread that came down from heaven, saying, Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph?
他 的 父母 我們 豈 不 認得 麼 ？
Don't we know his parents?
他 如今 怎麼 說 我 是從 天上 降下來 的 呢 ？
What does he say now that I came down from heaven?
耶穌 回答 說 ： 你們 不要 大家 議論 。
Jesus replied: Do not let everyone talk about it.
若 不是 差 我 來 的 父 吸引 人 ， 就 沒有 能 到 我 這裡 來 的 ； 到 我 這裡 來 的 ， 在 末日 我要 叫 他 復活 。
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws; and whoever comes to me I will raise up at the last day.
在 先知 書上 寫著 說 ： 他們 都 要 蒙 神 的 教訓 。
It is written in the Prophets: They shall all be taught by God.
凡 聽見 父 之 教訓 又 學習 的 ， 就 到 我 這裡 來 。
Everyone who hears the teaching of the Father and learns it, come to me.
這 不是 說 有人 看見 過 父 ； 惟獨 從 神來 的 ， 他 看見 過 父 。
This does not mean that any man has seen the Father; but he who is from God has seen the Father.
我 實實在在 的 告訴 你們 ， 信 的 人 有 永生 。
我 就是 生命 的 糧 。
你們 的 祖宗 在 曠野 吃過 嗎哪 ， 還是 死 了 。
Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they died.
這 是從 天上 降下來 的 糧 ， 叫 人 吃 了 就 不 死 。
This is the bread that came down from heaven, that a man may eat it without dying.
我 是從 天上 降下來 生命 的 糧 ； 人若 吃 這 糧 ， 就 必 永遠 活著 。
I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats this bread, he will live forever.
我 所 要 賜 的 糧 就是 我 的 肉 ， 為 世人 之 生命 所賜 的 。
The bread I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.
因此 ， 猶太人 彼此 爭論 說 ： 這個 人 怎能 把 他 的 肉 給 我們 吃 呢 ？
So the Jews argued among themselves: How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
耶穌 說 ： 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你們 ， 你們 若 不吃 人子 的 肉 ， 不 喝 人子 的 血 ， 就 沒有 生命 在 你們 裡面 。
吃 我 肉 、 喝 我 血 的 人 就 有 永生 ， 在 末日 我要 叫 他 復活 。
我 的 肉 真是 可 吃 的 ， 我 的 血 真是 可 喝 的 。
My flesh is truly edible, and my blood is truly drinkable.
吃 我 肉 、 喝 我 血 的 人常 在 我裡面 ， 我 也 常 在 他裡面 。
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I abide in him.
永活 的 父 怎樣 差 我 來 ， 我 又 因父 活著 ； 照樣 ， 吃 我 肉 的 人 也 要 因 我 活著 。
As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats my flesh will live because of me.
這就 是從 天上 降下來 的 糧 。
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
吃 這 糧 的 人 就 永遠 活著 ， 不像 你們 的 祖宗 吃過 嗎 哪 還是 死 了 。
Whoever eats this bread will live forever, unlike your ancestors who ate manna and died.
這些 話 是 耶穌 在 迦百農 會堂 裡 教訓 人 說 的 。
These words were spoken by Jesus in the synagogue of Capernaum.
他 的 門徒 中有 好些 人 聽見 了 ， 就 說 ： 這話 甚難 ， 誰 能 聽 呢 ？
When many of his disciples heard it, they said, "This is a hard thing to say; who can hear it?"
耶穌 心裡 知道 門徒 為 這話 議論 ， 就 對 他們 說 ： 這話 是 叫 你們 厭棄 （ 原文 是 跌倒 ） 麼 ？
倘或 你們 看見 人子 升到 他 原來 所在之處 ， 怎麼樣 呢 ？
What if you saw the Son of Man ascend to where he was?
叫 人活 著 的 乃是 靈 ， 肉體 是 無益 的 。
It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is useless.
我 對 你們 所說 的話 就是 靈 ， 就是 生命 。
The words I speak to you are spirit and life.
只是 你們 中間 有 不信 的 人 。
Only there are unbelievers among you.
耶穌 從 起頭 就 知道 誰 不信 他 ， 誰 要 賣 他 。
耶穌 又 說 ： 所以 我 對 你們 說過 ， 若 不是 蒙 我父 的 恩賜 ， 沒有 人能 到 我 這裡 來 。
Jesus said again: Therefore I said to you, No one can come to me unless it is the gift of my Father.
從此 ， 他 門徒 中 多 有 退去 的 ， 不再 和 他 同行 。
From then on, many of his disciples withdrew and no longer walked with him.
耶穌 就 對 那 十二個 門徒 說 ： 你們 也 要 去麼 ？
西門 彼得 回答 說 ： 主阿 ， 你 有 永生 之道 ， 我們 還歸 從 誰 呢 ？
Simon Peter answered, "Lord, you have the word of eternal life, to whom shall we go?
我們 已經 信 了 ， 又 知道 你 是 神 的 聖者 。
耶穌 說 ： 我 不是 揀選 了 你們 十二個 門徒 麼 ？
Jesus said: Didn't I choose your twelve disciples?
但 你們 中間 有 一個 是 魔鬼 。
耶穌 這話 是 指著 加略 人 西門 的 兒子 猶大 說 的 ； 他本 是 十二個 門徒 裡的 一個 ， 後來 要 賣 耶穌 的 。
Jesus said this in reference to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who was one of the twelve disciples who would later betray Jesus.
