빅키샘: 저와 개인적인 친분이 있는 사이라서

빅키샘: 친근감을 살리기 위해 반말로 대화를 진행했습니다.

이슬미: 안녕하세요~ 시청자 여러분!

이슬미: 저는 이슬미라고 합니다.

이슬미: 현재 일본 도쿄에서 살고 있고요.

이슬미: 2년 전에 이곳으로 이직했습니다.

이슬미: 지금까지 영국이나 호주 등

이슬미: 다른 국가에서도 잠깐 살아본 경험이 있는데

이슬미: 한국에서 나고 자란 완전 한국 토박이고,

이슬미: 전부 성인이 되고 나서 살았다는 게

이슬미: 좀 특이한 특징인 것 같아요.

이슬미: 취미는 춤추는 거고

이슬미: 특기는 다른 사람 생일 기억하는 것,

이슬미: 그리고 사람 만나는 것 좋아하는 성격입니다.

이슬미: 수정이하고는 대학 동창이라

이슬미: 제 20대 역사를 전부 알고 있어요.

(웃음)

빅키샘: 맞아.

빅키샘: 사실 언니랑 나랑 대학교 때 정말 친하게 지냈는데

빅키샘: 언니가 대학교 때부터 일본에 관심이 진짜 많았고

빅키샘: 일본어도 잘했던 걸로 기억해.

빅키샘: 여전히 잘하기도 하고

빅키샘: 그럼 일본에 대한 관심은 언제부터 생겼고,

빅키샘: 또 일본어를 본격적으로 배우기 시작한 건

빅키샘: 언제부터야?

이슬미: 원래부터 너도 알다시피

이슬미: 외국어에 관심이 되게 많았어서

이슬미: 우리 둘 다 그렇지만

이슬미: 그래서 영어를 어렸을 때부터

이슬미: 스스로 찾아서 공부하고 그랬는데

이슬미: 너도 알겠지만, 영어를 통해서

이슬미: 이제 알게 되는 또 하나의 세계가 있잖아?

이슬미: 그 다른 세계를 더 알고 싶어서

이슬미: 그러니까 다른 외국어를 공부하면

이슬미: 또 다른 세계가 있을 것 같아서

이슬미: 또 다른 외국어도 공부하고 싶어졌어.

이슬미: 그래서 아빠가 대학생 때 공부했던

이슬미: 70~80년대 일본어책이랑 카세트테이프가

이슬미: 집에 있었는데 그것 때문에

이슬미: 첫 제2외국어로 관심을 가지게 된 것 같아.

이슬미: 왜냐하면 뭔가 자료가 있어서

이슬미: 그리고 그다음에는 아라시 내가 좋아했잖아

이슬미: 아라시같은 거를 되게 학생 때

이슬미: 학창시절 때 보게 되면서

이슬미: 더 깊이 찾아보게 됐고

이슬미: 근데 솔직히 공부를 본격적으로 한 적은 없어.

이슬미: 그래서 제일 많이 늘은 건

이슬미: 해외 생활하면서 일본 친구들하고 놀면서였고

이슬미: 그런 식으로 조금씩 늘렸던 것 같아.

이슬미: 그리고 이제 일 업무적으로 쓰게 되면서

이슬미: 그.. 공식적인 비즈니스 일본어?

이슬미: 이런 거는 되게 많이 늘은 것 같아.

빅키샘: 그러면 언니 일본어 실력을 잠깐 뽐낼 시간을 줄게.

빅키샘: 그래서 일본어로 간단하게 자기소개 부탁해도 될까?

이슬미: 응. (웃음)

이슬미: 안녕하세요, 이슬미라고 합니다.

이슬미: 현재 도쿄에서 살고 있으며

이슬미: 2년 전 이직해서 일하고 있습니다.

이슬미: 현재는 회사에서 해외 고객사를 대상으로

이슬미: 하는 영업일을 하고 있습니다.

이슬미: 저는 해외에서 살면서

이슬미: 뭔가 새로운 경험을 하는 것을 좋아합니다.

이슬미: 아무쪼록 잘 부탁합니다.

빅키샘: 오, 진짜 일본인 같은 발음이다!

이슬미: 근데 잘하시는 분이 들으면 진짜 아니야.

빅키샘: 그러면 언니 영어도 할 줄 알고

빅키샘: 일본어도 할 줄 아는 거잖아.

빅키샘: 그러면 본인이 영어를 더 잘한다고 생각해,

빅키샘: 아니면 일본어를 더 잘한다고 생각해?

이슬미: 당연히 영어야.

이슬미: 왜냐하면 배우기 시작한 시기가 달라서

이슬미: 나이는 진짜 무시 못하는 것 같아.

이슬미: 그래서 영어는 이제 완전히 어렸을 때부터 배웠고

이슬미: 영화나 미드같은 그런 컨텐츠에

이슬미: 계속 노출이 되다 보니까

이슬미: 자연스럽게 계속 향상이 됐는데

이슬미: 일본어는 영어에 비해 그렇게 기회가 많지도 않고

이슬미: 내가 계속 찾아봐야 되고

이슬미: 그리고 무엇보다 이제

이슬미: 배우기 시작한 타이밍이 비교적 늦었지.

이슬미: 그렇게 늦은 건 아니지만, 영어에 비해서

이슬미: 그래서 중학생 때 처음

이슬미: 이제 히라가나 가타카나 일본 알파벳을 공부하고

이슬미: 일본인 친구들하고 얘기하면서 늘린 케이스인데

이슬미: 솔직히 나는 이제 일본에 살기 시작하면

이슬미: 막 한 달 만에 네이티브 레벨 되고

이슬미: 이럴 줄 알았다?

이슬미: 근데 확실히, 나이 차서 공부하는 거는

이슬미: 습득력이 진짜 다르더라고.

이슬미: 그래서 내가 다른 외국어들도 조금 할 줄 알잖아.

이슬미: 그런 것도 종합해 가지고

이슬미: 잘하는 순번을 매기면

이슬미: 배운 나이가 빠른 순이야.

이슬미: 그래서 영어가 당연히 훨씬 나아.

빅키샘: 사실 일본어랑 한국어가 어순이 비슷해서

빅키샘: 한국인들이 배우기 제일 유리하다는 말이 있잖아.

빅키샘: 근데 이게 사실이라고 생각해?

빅키샘: 아니면 한국인이라도 좀 배우기

빅키샘: 어려운 어떤 일본어의 특정 부분이 좀 있을까?

이슬미: 일단 그 말은 맞아.

이슬미: 근데 이건 진짜 처음 배우기 시작할 때만 적용이 돼.

이슬미: 예를 들어서 어순이랑

이슬미: 비슷한 단어들은 되게 많은데

이슬미: 그런 거는 언어의 정말

이슬미: 그 방대한 영역의 한 부분에 불과하잖아.

이슬미: 그래서 이런 거에서 유리한 부분은 있는데

이슬미: 기초 단계를 넘으면 유리한 거 하나도 없어.

이슬미: 그래서 완전 초보 단계에서만 적용돼.

이슬미: 그리고 진짜 어려운 건

이슬미: 오히려 그런 비슷한 단어들이 많아서였던 것 같아.

이슬미: 왜냐면 어순이 갖고 비슷한 단어들이 많으니까

이슬미: 예를 들어 이제 "나는 공부를 합니다"

이슬미: 이런 문장이 있으면

이슬미: 일본어는 그대로 단어만 바꿔서

이슬미: 머릿속에서 번역하거든.

이슬미: 왜냐면 한자도 같은 단어 쓰니까.

이슬미: 예를 들어 "나는 공부를 합니다"

이슬미: 공부만 이제 바꿔가지고

이슬미: 그렇게 같은 한자 단어를 발음만 바꿔서.

이슬미: 조금 설명이 어렵긴 한데,

이슬미: 근데 여기서 공부라는 단어가 이상하게

이슬미: 일본에서는 "명강"이라고 해.

이슬미: 그래서 공부라는 단어는 다른 뜻으로 쓰이거든.

이슬미: 약간 "연구" 이런 뜻?

이슬미: 그래서 갑자기 그러니까

이슬미: 평소에는 그런 단어가 다 같은 단어로 쓰이는데

이슬미: 갑자기 이렇게 전혀 다른 단어로 쓰이면

이슬미: 갑자기 이제 머릿속에서 그걸 다시 생각해야 되는데

이슬미: 경우가 있어.

이슬미: 왜냐하면 영어는 모든 단어가 다 다르니까

이슬미: 그걸 기본적으로 생각하면서 얘길 하거든.

이슬미: 그런데 일본어는 평소에는 보통 같은데

이슬미: 갑자기 이렇게 뜬금없이 다를 때가 있으니까

이슬미: 그래서 내가 활동을 해야 되니까

이슬미: 그래서 오히려 그런 것 때문에

이슬미: 조금 헷갈릴 때가 있는 것 같아.

빅키샘: 무슨 말인지 알 것 같아.

빅키샘: 완전히 확연히 다르면 이렇게 딱 외우면 되는데,

빅키샘: 뭔가 애매하게 다르거나

빅키샘: 어, 이거인 것 같은데 이게 아니면

빅키샘: 좀 헷갈릴 수도 있을 것 같겠다.

이슬미: 그래서 오히려 헷갈릴 때가 많은 것 같아.

빅키샘: 재밌네. (웃음)

빅키샘: 그러면, 이제 언니 본격적으로

빅키샘: 일본 생활에 대한 질문으로 넘어갈게.

빅키샘: 언니가 지금 일본에 살고 있는데

빅키샘: 구체적으로 어떤 일을 하고 있고,

빅키샘: 또 언제까지 있을 계획이야?

이슬미: 음, 일단 지금은 애드 네트워크라고 하면 알려나?

이슬미: 그런 광고 플랫폼을 갖고 있는 IT 회사에서

이슬미: 그 광고를 해외 클라이언트,

이슬미: 그러니까 일본 외의 클라이언트들한테

이슬미: 판매하는 세일즈 일을 하고 있어.

이슬미: 그래서 일본 유저들이 필요한

이슬미: 해외 애플리케이션 같은 회사가

이슬미: 일본에서 확장하는 걸 돕는 일이라서

이슬미: 구체적으로 이제 광고 판매뿐만 아니라

이슬미: 전체적으로 일본 마케팅 전략도 세우는

이슬미: 컨설턴트에 가까운데

이슬미: 처음 일본에 왔을 때는 완전 홍보쪽

이슬미: 이제 다른 일을 해서

이슬미: 만족도가 높지 않았는데

이슬미: 이제 이직을 한 번 하고

이슬미: 지금은 영어도 쓰고 마케팅 전략도 짜고

이슬미: 이런 일이 되게 잘 맞아서

이슬미: 계속 여기서 일하고 싶다는 생각은 하고 있는데

이슬미: 솔직히 국가는 일본 말고

이슬미: 다른 국가에서 또 살아보고 싶긴 한데

이슬미: 이 일이 만족스러워서

이슬미: 우선 현재로서는 계속 일본에서 살 생각이야.

빅키샘: 사실 언니 소셜미디어(SNS)에서 사진 같은 거 보면

빅키샘: 되게 재밌게, 그리고 즐겁게 일하는 모습을 봤거든.

빅키샘: 그래서 되게 언니한테 맞는 재밌는 직업을 찾아서

빅키샘: 진짜 너무 다행이다.

이슬미: 보이지 않는 면도 다 있긴 하지만. (웃음)

빅키샘: 물론 그렇지, 물론 그렇지만.

이슬미: 좋은 면만 보여주고. (웃음)

빅키샘: 그래도 전반적인 만족도가 높다는 거니까

빅키샘: 그게 일에 있어서 되게 중요한 것 같아.

빅키샘: 그러면 또 다음 질문으로 넘어가 볼게.

빅키샘: 좀 민감한 질문일 수도 있는데

빅키샘: 사실 현재 일본이랑

빅키샘: 한국에 정치적인 관계가 좋은 편은 아니잖아.

빅키샘: 그래서 이런 시국에서

빅키샘: 한국인으로서 일본 생활을 할 때

빅키샘: 언니가 겪은 불편한 점이 특별히 있었어?

빅키샘: 아니면 그런 것들은 좀 정치적인 부분일 뿐이고,

빅키샘: 한국인이나 일본인 개인 간에는

빅키샘: 아무 영향이 없다고 생각해?

이슬미: 음, 내가 일본에서 생활하면서

이슬미: 정치적인 문제 때문에 불편한 적은

이슬미: 한 번도 없었어.

이슬미: 오히려 3년 전에 관계 엄청 안 좋아지면서

이슬미: 관광 그만하자고 해서

이슬미: 비행기값 싸져서 좋았던 건 있었어. (웃음)

이슬미: 그래서 나는 이제

이슬미: 정치적인 문제랑 생활에 있어서는

이슬미: 완전히 분리해서 봐야 한다고 생각하는 편인데

이슬미: 왜냐면 생활하는 사람들은 다 선량한 시민들이고,

이슬미: 지금 한일관계뿐만 아니라

이슬미: 전 세계적으로 문제가 되는 것도

이슬미: 윗사람들 권력 때문인 게 크잖아.

이슬미: 그래서 뭐 이제 한국 사람들이 전체적으로

이슬미: 일본인들에 대한 시각이 부정적인 것은 사실이고,

이슬미: 이제 역사적 문제 때문에

이슬미: 일본 자체에 대한 부정적인 마인드가 있는 건

이슬미: 충분히 있을 수 있는 일인데

이슬미: 이걸 이제 개개인에 반영하는 것은

이슬미: 나는 이제 틀리다고 생각을 해.

이슬미: 그리고 개인적으로 일본에 사는 한 사람으로서

이슬미: 최근 일본은 진짜 완전 한국문화 붐이거든.

이슬미: 막 코리아 타운가면 진짜 난리고,

이슬미: 한국문화 진짜 인기 많아.

이슬미: 전 세계적으로도 그렇긴 하지만

이슬미: 그래서 그냥 한국인이라고 하면

이슬미: 다들 완전 환영하고 반기는 분위기야.

이슬미: 그래서 전혀 그런 걸 느껴본 적 없어.

빅키샘: 언니 일본어도 잘 하니까

빅키샘: 더 좋아해 주겠다 일본인 분들이.

빅키샘: 그런 것도 좀 있었어?

이슬미: 어, 그래서 오히려 막 한국어로 말하라

이슬미: 그러고 한국어 듣고 싶다 그러더라고.

빅키샘: 아, 한국어 연습하려고?

이슬미: 응. 진짜 인기 많아.

빅키샘: 그러면 이거는 좀 거창한 질문일 수도 있는데,

빅키샘: 한국이랑 일본이 관계를 개선해 나가기 위해서는

빅키샘: 국가 간이나 개인 간의 어떤 노력이 필요하다고 생각해?

이슬미: 음, 엄청 어렵긴 한데

빅키샘: 그렇지.

이슬미: 뭔가 이제 정치적으로 그 자국민의 지지를 얻기 위해서

이슬미: 역사를 정치에 이용하는 목적은

이슬미: 뭔가 뭐 역사적으로 계속 그랬었고

이슬미: 목적 자체는 알겠는데

이슬미: 그렇게 해서는 양국의 입장이

이슬미: 영원히 일치할 수가 없다고 생각을 해.

이슬미: 왜냐면 계속 자기가 옳다고만 할 테니까.

이슬미: 그래서 솔직히 정치적으로

이슬미: 객관적으로 보는 게 굉장히 어려운 일이긴 한데

이슬미: 그 프로파간다부터 없애야 한다고 생각을 해.

이슬미: 그래서 이거랑 이제 연결될 게

이슬미: 개인적으로는 국가에 대한 부정적인 편견을 버리기

이슬미: 왜냐하면 예를 들어

이슬미: 일본에 산다고 욕먹는 게 있단 말이야.

이슬미: 근데 미국에서 산다고 욕을 하진 않잖아.

이슬미: 그런 게 편견이고 좀 없어져야 하는 것 같아.

빅키샘: 그런 것들이 좀 개선이 되면 좋을 것 같아.

빅키샘: 그러면 마지막으로

빅키샘: 이 팟캐스트를 듣는 분들 중에서

빅키샘: 한국어를 배우시는 분들도 있고

빅키샘: 또 일본어를 같이 배우시는 분들이 있거든.

빅키샘: 그분들한테 어떻게 하면

빅키샘: 한국어랑 일본어 둘 다 빨리 유창해질 수 있는지

빅키샘: 언니만의 팁을 좀 공유 부탁할게.

이슬미: 앞에서도 조금 얘기했는데

이슬미: 외국어는 역시 생활 속에서

이슬미: 노출되는 게 가장 빨리 느는 것 같아.

이슬미: 이제 축복받았다고 생각하는 게

이슬미: 유튜브나 다른 문화적 콘텐츠가

이슬미: 무료로 얼마든지 접할 수가 있잖아.

이슬미: 그래서 20년 전이랑 막 비교해보면

이슬미: 상상도 못하게 공부하기 좋은 환경

이슬미: 원하기만 하면 얼마든지

이슬미: 외국어를 늘릴 수 있는

이슬미: 콘텐츠로 외국어를 늘릴 수 있는 시대니까

이슬미: 이걸 잘 누려서 끊임없이

이슬미: 노출하고 반복하면서 언어를 늘릴 수 있을 것 같아.

이슬미: 그리고 일본어에 관해서는

이슬미: 솔직히 나는 애니메이션은 안 좋아해서

이슬미: 별로 안 보긴 하는데

이슬미: 일본어 빨리 늘린 외국 친구들이

이슬미: 애니메이션을 추천하더라고.

이슬미: 왜냐면 성우분들이 워낙 발음이 분명하고

이슬미: 일본어 자막이랑 같이 동시에 들을 수 있으니까.

이슬미: 되게 빨리 는다고 그러더라고.

빅키샘: 애니메이션에서 쓰는 일본어랑

빅키샘: 일상생활에서 쓰는 일본어랑 좀 달라서

빅키샘: 애니메이션을 비추하는 사람들도 있었거든.

빅키샘: 여기에 대해서는 어떻게 생각해?

빅키샘: 오히려 막 드라마를 더 보라고, 브이로그 이런거

이슬미: 그 방법도 좋은 것 같긴 한데

이슬미: 애니메이션이 쓰는 단어가 다르다고 하는 것은

이슬미: 자기가 어떻게 취합하느냐에 따라 좀 다를 것 같은 게

이슬미: 왜냐면 일상생활에서 안 쓰는 단어만 나오는 건 아니니까

이슬미: 전반적인 이제 내용을 보면서 언어를 습득하는 거니까

이슬미: 그래서 솔직히 자기가 좋아하는 걸 보는 게

이슬미: 제일 빨리 늘 것 같긴 해.

이슬미: 왜냐면 나도 애니메이션 그렇게 보는 게 아니라서

이슬미: 그렇게 강추는 못하겠는데,

이슬미: 다들 이제 빨리 는다고 하더라고.

이슬미: 왜냐하면 드라마랑 비교를 하자면

이슬미: 워낙 딕션이 명확하니까.

빅키샘: 그러니까 사실 어떤 자료를 쓰던지 간에

빅키샘: 본인한테 재미있는 자료를 쓰면

빅키샘: 그게 제일 빨리 느는 것 같긴 해.

빅키샘: 그게 사실 책일 수도 있고

빅키샘: 뭐 드라마일 수도 있고 음악일 수도 있고.

빅키샘: 그래서 진짜 지금 현재 세대를 사는 분들이

빅키샘: 외국어를 배우기 딱 좋은 시대인 말에

빅키샘: 참 공감을 해 나도.

빅키샘: 그런데 지금까지 좋은 답변 해줘서 너무 고맙고.
