我 的 podcast 一歲 生日 了 ！

這 一年 真的 發生 很多 事 ，

我 想 趁 這個 時機 回顧 一下 過去 一年 ，

然後 跟 你們 說 我 的 感想 ，

還有 對 你們 的 感謝 。

首先 我 還是 要 教 你 一下 中文 。

我 剛剛 說 我 的 podcast 一歲 了 ，

你們 知不知道 另外 一種 說法 ？

這裡 除了 說 我 的 podcast 一歲 了 ，

我們 還 可以 說 我 的 podcast 一週年 (1-yearanniversary)了 。

週年 ，就是 英文 的 anniversary。

週年 跟 生日 不 一樣 的 是 它 不能 用 在 人 身上 ，

我們 只能 用 在 一件 事情 、一個 組織 或是 一個 團體 上 。

像是 前 陣子 英國 就 有 發生 一件 大事 ，

就是 英國 女王 登基 (ascendthethrone)七十 週年 ，

意思 就是 英國女王 已經 成為 女王 70年 了 。

那台灣 過去 一年 也 有 發生 了 一件 值得 (worth)紀念 的 事 ，

就是 「台灣 文化 協會 」這個 組織 成立 一百 週年 。

「台灣 文化 協會 」是 對 台灣 歷史 很 重要 的 一個 組織 ，

我 介紹 了 一個 叫做 《甘露水》 的 雕像 還有 一點 「台灣 文化 協會 」的 故事 。

講到 這裡 我 就 想 說 做 這個 podcast 很 好 的 一件 事 是 它 讓 我 可以 記錄 我 生活 中 的 大小事 ，

我 幾乎 生活 中 所有 的 事情 都 可以 拿來 教 大家 中文 。

像是 我 剛剛 講的 「台灣 文化 協會 」那集 的 靈感 就 是 從 我 看 的 一個 展覽 來 的 。

還有 像是 比較 台灣 跟 澳洲 、比較 台灣 跟 日本 的 這些 內容 也 是 從 我 在 不同 國家 生活 的 經驗 來 的 。

甚至 是 生活 中 很 小 、很 微不足道 (trivial/notimportantenoughtomention)的 事情 ，

像是 podcast 第一集 、我 早上 的 例行公事 ，

連 這種 微不足道 的 事情 我 也 可以 拿來 跟 大家 分享 ，

而且 還有 很多 人 聽 ，

我 覺得 受寵若驚 (flattered)。

受寵若驚 的 意思 是 有人 稱讚 你 、或是 有人 對 你 很 好 你 覺得 很 開心 ，

但是 你 又 覺得 自己 不 值得 (deserve)別人 對 你 這麼 好 ，

這時候 你 就 可以 說 你 受寵若驚 。

我 覺得 受寵若驚 是 因為 我 一直 都 有點 擔心 我 的 podcast 不夠 好 也 不夠 有趣 ，

但是 沒想到 每個 禮拜 都 還是 有 很多 人 會 來 聽 我 的 podcast ，

我 覺得 很 開心 。

而且 有 很多 人 寫信 、傳 訊息 或是 留言 來 跟 我 說 我 的 podcast 對 他們 很 有 幫助 。

讓 我 更 受寵若驚 的 是 還有 人 願意 花錢 來 支持 我 的 podcast ，

不管 是 請 我 喝咖啡 、

那 就 像 我 剛剛 講的 ，

我 的 podcast 讓 我 可以 把 生活 中 的 大小事 記錄下來 ，

我 覺得 這個 podcast 好像 也 變成 我 的 一本 另類 的 日記 。

另類 ， 就是 英文 的 alternative，

就是 跟 主流 (mainstream)不 一樣 、跟 一般 人 想 得 不 一樣 。

我們 說 「一本 日記 」通常 一般 都 會 想到 一本 筆記本 或是 一 本 書 。

日記 的 主人 會 把 生活 中 發生 的 事 寫 在 日記 裡面 ，

現在 是 網路 時代 嘛 ，

應該 也 滿多人 是 用 打字 的 ，

他們 用 電腦 或 手機 把 日記 打 出來 。

但是 用 錄音 的 方式 來 寫日記 應該 還是 很少 見 的 吧 ？

我 自己 是 沒有 寫日記 的 習慣 ，

我 試過 好 幾次 ，但是 每次 都 只 寫 幾天 就 沒有 繼續下去 了 。

不過 回想起來 台灣 的 教育體制 (educationsystem)其實 會 逼 我們 寫日記 耶 ！

像是 國中 的 時候 每個 學生 都 會 有 一本 叫做 「聯絡簿 」的 本子 ，

聯絡簿 通常 都 是 寫 老師 每天 給的 作業 有 什麼 ，

也 有 一個 地方 會 叫 我們 寫日記 ，

然後 每 天 回家 都 要 給 家長 簽名 (sign) 、

就是 給 你 的 爸爸 或 媽媽 簽名 ，

而且 老師 每天 也 會 把 大家 的 聯絡簿 收去 看 。

基本上 你 日記 上 寫 什麼 你 的 老師 還有 你 爸媽 都 會 看到 ，

所以 想當然 地 (obviously)沒有 人 會 寫 真心話 (one'srealthoughts)。

真心話 就是 你 內心 真的 在 想 的 事情 。

正是 因為 我 很少 寫日記 也 很少 把 我 的 真心話 記錄下來 ，

所以 我 才 會 覺得 能 在 我 的 podcast 裡面 做到 這件 事情 很 難得 (rare)也 很 出乎意料 (surprising;unexpected)。

可能 我 幾年 後 再 回來 聽 我 一 開始 的 podcast 會 覺得 ：

「我 當時 到底 在 想 什麼 ？」、

我 當時 怎麼 這麼 不 成熟 ？」、

或是 「我 當時 怎麼 會 講出 這麼 白痴 的 東西 ？」

但是 這 不 就是 寫日記 好玩 的 地方 嗎 ？

那 做 這個 podcast 還有 另外 一個 好事 是 它 會 讓 我 想 做 很多 新 的 嘗試 。

幾個 月 前 我 開始 了 另外 一個 podcast ，

叫做 《 來句 中文 Lychee Mandarin》。

我 每一集 都 會 從 一個 台灣 的 新聞 裡面 抓出 一個 重要 的 句子 ，

改寫 一下 ，

然後 跟 你們 解釋 句子 裡面 的 每 一個 詞 。

我 想 藉由 (through)這樣 的 方式 讓 你們 慢慢 學會 台灣 新聞 裡的 中文 ，

而且 也 順便 讓 你們 知道 台灣 人 在 關心 的 事情 是 什麼 。

就 我 自己 學 語言 的 經驗 ，

我 覺得 要 聽懂 那個 語言 的 新聞 真的 比較 困難 ，

因為 新聞 裡面 的 用字 又 跟 我們 平常 生活 裡面 用 的 字 不太 一樣 ，

通常 會 更 正式 一點 。

而且 新聞 的 主題 也 很 廣泛 ，

像是 科學 、經濟 、政治 、歷史 ，

各種 主題 無所不包 (itincludeseverything)，

但是 也 是 因為 這樣 ，

我 自己 覺得 藉由 新聞學 一個 語言 是 一個 很 有效 的 方式 。

那 我 還有 另外 一個 新 嘗試 是 我 開始 做 一系列 的 影片 放在 YouTube上 ，

這個 系列 叫做 《 中文 怎麼 說 ？How to say this in Mandarin?》。

這 系列 的 影片 我 主要 是 用 英文 來 解釋 中文 的 詞 ，

我 想 專注 在 怎麼 把 一個 英文 的 字 翻成 中文 ，

那 影片 裡面 我 也 會 盡量 給 你們 很多 不同 的 例句 。

我會 想 做 這個 系列 是 因為 中文 跟 英文 是 兩個 很 不 一樣 的 語言 ，

所以 兩個 語言 有 很多 詞彙 是 沒 辦法 直接 對應 的 。

像是 我 最近 的 影片 就 有 介紹 「知道 」跟 「認識 」這 兩個 詞 的 差別 。

在 英文 裡面 這 兩個 詞 都 是 know ，

但是 在 中文 裡面 這 兩個 詞 是 分開 的 、

兩個 詞 背後 的 概念 不 一樣 ，

所以 我 遇到 很多 學 中文 的 人 都 搞不清楚 「知道 」跟 「認識 」這 兩個 詞 的 差別 。

我 希望 藉由 比較 英文 跟 中文 的 方式 ，

你們 可以 更 了解 中文 ，

而且 讓 你們 講 出來 的 中文 更 自然 。
