Tra gli zombie e i lupi mannari ha esordito, non senza polemiche, un nuovo travestimento.

Bastano due accessori, barrucca bionda e occhiali da vista con montatura adorata a goccia.

Questi i segni particolari di un serial killer cannibale protagonista di una serie di Netflix con numeri da record.

Oggi vi parlo di Jeffrey Dahmer.

Nel 2020 ho aperto un canale YouTube in cui racconto omicidi, casi irrisolti e misteriose sparizioni.

Mi documento, ascolto i protagonisti, faccio le mie riflessioni.

In queste nuove puntate vi racconto le storie dei serial killer più spietati che hanno terrorizzato gli Stati Uniti negli ultimi 150 anni.

Io sono Elisa True Crime e queste sono le storie che mi hanno particolarmente scioccata.

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer nasce il 21 maggio del 1960 a Milwaukee, nel Wisconsin.

Jeffrey è il primo genito di Lionel Herbert Dahmer e Joyce Annette.

Negli anni immediatamente successivi al boom economico, entrambi i suoi genitori sono molto concentrati sulle loro attività.

Lionel, il papà, all'epoca in cui nacque suo figlio era uno studente di chimica alla Marquette University

e Joyce, al contrario, era un'istruttrice di telescriventi, che sarebbero quegli apparecchi che si usavano una volta per inviare i telegrammi.

Riguardo l'infanzia del piccolo Jeffrey, nelle cui vene scorreva sangue tedesco, gallese e scozzese, ci sono due teorie.

Secondo alcune fonti, infatti, Jeffrey non soltanto viveva in un ambiente familiare a dir poco disfunzionale,

ma fu anche vittima di violenza da parte di un vicino di casa.

Stando ad altre fonti, invece, l'infanzia di Jeffrey assume le caratteristiche di un paradiso, che verrà però perduto di lì a breve.

Dal libro di Lionel Dahmer, il padre di Jeffrey, che ha scritto successivamente,

emergono dei dettagli importanti che aiutano a fornire un ritratto del piccolo Jeffrey.

Dahmer era, infatti, un bambino le cui pile dell'energia sembravano non esaurirsi mai.

La sua iperattività a volte era talmente eccessiva che non poteva essere contenuta.

Stando all'opinione degli psicologi e di alcuni criminologi, fu proprio quell'energia malincanalata a minare la sanità mentale di Jeffrey.

I responsabili della nascita di un serial killer sarebbero, quindi, stando a questo ragionamento,

stati proprio i genitori, negligenti nei confronti di quel bambino che necessitava di cure quotidiane adatte alla sua personalità iperattiva.

Comunque, quei comportamenti manifestati già nell'età dell'infanzia attraverso le esecuzioni di giochi eccessivi

peggiorarono notevolmente nel corso degli anni, ma procediamo con ordine.

Quando Dahmer aveva sei anni, la famiglia decise di trasferirsi a Doylestown, piccolo villaggio nel cuore dell'Ohio.

La disportananza di suo padre, impegnato a livello accademico, e la condizione psicofisica di sua madre

contribuirono a distruggere l'immagine di quel bambino allegro e spensierato.

Gli stati depressivi che accompagnavano Joyce, sua mamma, e la sua ipocondria la inducevano a passare la maggior parte del suo tempo a letto.

La notevole iperattività di Jeffrey si tramuta ben presto in una vera e propria apatia

che il ragazzino coltiva in maniera sempre più schiva e chiusa.

La negligenza dei genitori nei confronti di colui che sarebbe diventato il mostro di Milwaukee

e le loro continue liti distruggono definitivamente l'ideale perfetto di famiglia felice nella quale ogni bambino sogna di vivere.

All'età di otto anni, la condizione di disagio percepita da Jeffrey si aggrava

e ad un certo punto inizia a sfociare in quello che diventa un divertimento macabro.

Dahmer inizia a collezionare resti di animali morti presi nel boschetto che si trovava vicino casa sua.

L'opinione più diffusa in ambito criminologico e psicologico è che Jeffrey si sarebbe potuto salvare da quel tunnel di orrore

se solo la sua condizione di malessere fosse stata notata.

In quel caso Dahmer sarebbe stato aiutato e non lasciato in balia degli orrori della sua mente.

Le sue fantasie perverse furono inoltre alimentate da suo padre che le scambiò per una semplice curiosità di tipo scientifico.

Cioè non aveva pensato, oh Dio mio figlio sta sviluppando un'ossessione verso gli animali morti,

forse questo è un campanello d'allarme, magari mi rivolgo a un professionista.

Anche perché ai tempi non c'erano la consapevolezza e gli strumenti per formulare un pensiero del genere.

Ma aveva pensato, oh ma che bello mio figlio sta sviluppando un interesse verso la scienza, vuole imparare l'anatomia degli animali.

All'età di dieci anni infatti Lionel Dahmer, il papà, insegnò al piccolo Jeffrey come sbiancare e conservare gli scheletri degli animali morti.

La situazione di Dahmer si aggrava di anno in anno, il mostro di Milwaukee sprofonda sempre di più nei meandri della perversione.

Uno degli aneddoti che più farà brividire riguarda la decapitazione per mano di Jeffrey di un cane che era stato precedentemente investito.

Quello che gli fa amici è davvero orribile.

Praticamente il corpo di questo povero cane fu inchiodato ad un albero e il teschio fu impalato su un bastone.

Sembra davvero impossibile credere che un gesto così cruento sia stato compiuto da quello che dovrebbe essere un bambino innocente.

Risulta quindi evidente che il futuro di Jeffrey a questo punto era già scritto?

Come è risaputo l'adolescenza è già di per sé un periodo estremamente delicato per ogni individuo che si trova ad affrontare determinati cambiamenti.

Dahmer all'età di 13 anni non soltanto inizia a sviluppare una tendenza all'annecdotia che per chi non lo sapesse sarebbe una deviazione sessuale che consiste nell'attrazione verso i cadaveri.

Quindi non solo inizia a sviluppare questa cosa ma prende anche coscienza della sua omosessualità.

Capisce quindi di essere gay, con sapevolezza che però sarà vissuta in maniera quasi segreta.

E fu proprio questo uno dei motivi principali che lo resero un bersaglio per i suoi compagni di scuola.

Quelle che erano soltanto delle fantasie macabre e perverse sfociano ben presto in veri e propri problemi di alcolismo.

Dall'età di 16 anni infatti Dahmer inizia a rifugiarsi nell'alcol.

La dipendenza diventa sempre più evidente nel momento in cui Jeffrey nascondeva bottiglie di alcolici nella giacca che usava per andare a scuola in modo da poter bere in ogni momento.

Praticamente beveva tutto il giorno.

Non soltanto Jeffrey viene quindi ignorato dai suoi genitori che continuano a non curarsi dei segnali d'allarme lanciati dalle insegnanti ma è il bersaglio dei suoi coetanei.

Nel 1977 la situazione precipita perché i genitori di Jeffrey si separano definitivamente a causa dei tradimenti della mamma Joyce.

Non c'è ormai più rimedio all'alienazione nella quale Jeffrey si ritrova a vivere.

Se fino al 1977 Dahmer vive quel disagio in completa solitudine trovando nell'alcol la sua unica via di fuga, nel 1978 quel disagio si tramuta in un primo omicidio.

Era il 18 giugno del 1978, ci troviamo alle porte dell'estate e Steve Hicks, un ragazzo di soli 18 anni, ha la sfortuna di chiedere un passaggio proprio a Jeffrey.

Il ragazzo è stordito dal colpo e per finirlo Dahmer decide di soffocarlo, ma purtroppo la cosa non finisce qui. Quello che Dahmer fa al corpo del ragazzo è roba per stomaci forti, vi avviso.

Le ossa vengono frantumate con una mazza da baseball e in seguito gettate all'interno di sacchi neri per l'immondizia, accuratamente seppelliti nel giardino dietro casa sua.

A quanto pare l'oggetto preferito delle sue sperimentazioni macabre a questo punto della storia erano i corpi degli scoiattoli morti che scioglieva nell'acido.

Quando quel corpo ha esaurito ogni funzione o se vogliamo ogni attrattiva, procede con lo smembramento per poi gettarlo nella spazzatura.

Si giustifica dicendomi Anthony hai iniziato a parlarmi? Come dire cosa fai se uno inizia a parlarti non cogli l'occasione e lo uccidi?

Purtroppo però la madre non aveva badato troppo alla cosa, era convinta che il figlio si fosse fermato a festeggiare con i suoi amici invece come sappiamo non era così.

L'iter è sempre lo stesso, Dahmer aveva invitato Anthony nel suo appartamento, lo aveva drogato e poi lo aveva strangolato e una volta senza vita purtroppo aveva avuto rapporti con il suo corpo.

Da questo punto in avanti amici l'attività omicida di Dahmer si intensifica, il biennio 90-91 infatti è forse il più prolifico nella sua carriera da serial killer se così possiamo chiamarla.

Tenete in considerazione amici che da questo momento in avanti il killer porterà sempre le vittime nel suo appartamento, cercherà sempre di stordirle con della droga e dell'alcol per poi ucciderle.

Tony Hughes era un ragazzo di 31 anni rimasto sordo quando era soltanto un bambino a causa di un medicinale sbagliato che gli aveva prescritto il medico. Anche lui sognava di diventare un modello.

Questa amici è la storia più eclatante di questo caso che esprime a pieno la società che viveva in America in quegli anni, ma andiamo con ordine.

Ma mentre Damer era fuori casa, Conorac riesce a liberarsi, ma immaginate le sue condizioni. Era completamente stordito dall'alcol, dalle droghe e da quella cosa che gli aveva iniettato nel cervello.

E quando vedono il ragazzino chiamano immediatamente la polizia.

Gli agenti ad aver preso la chiamata sono John Balcherzak e Joseph Gabrish e oltre loro si attivano anche i paramedici, arrivando con un'ambulanza.

I paramedici non hanno dubbi sul fatto che Conorac avesse urgente bisogno di cure, ma gli agenti di polizia no. Li mandano via, negando le cure al ragazzino.

Dunque Conorac, dovete sapere che viveva in America da moltissimi anni, ormai da più di dieci anni, quindi parlava inglese fluentemente.

A quel punto Dahmer torna a casa e si trova davanti questa scena, si trova davanti le donne insieme a Conorac e ai due agenti di polizia.

Ma con tutta la calma del mondo spiega agli agenti che Conorac era semplicemente il suo amante, i due si stavano divertendo e Conorac era semplicemente un po' sbronzo.

E amici, gli agenti gli credono. Ora, suona quasi scontato dirlo, ma il forte razzismo e la forte discriminazione di quegli anni hanno sicuramente giocato un ruolo molto importante in questa vicenda,

perché secondo voi se al posto di Conorac, ragazzino asiatico e per di più omosessuale, ci fosse stato un uomo bianco etero ridotto in quelle condizioni,

voi pensate che gli agenti si sarebbero comportati allo stesso modo? Beh amici, sembra assurdo, ma gli agenti credono all'uomo bianco della situazione,

credono a Dahmer e lasciano il povero Conorac nelle mani del suo carnefice e se ne vanno, se ne vanno.

La cosa più agghiacciante è che mentre vanno via, riferiscono alla centrale, maschio asiatico nudo sbronzo riconsegnato al suo fidanzato sobrio e dicono queste parole ridendo a crepa pelle.

Subito dopo Dahmer riporta a Conorac nel suo appartamento e la prima cosa che fa è fargli una seconda iniezione nel cervello di acido cloridrico, che risulta essere fatale immediatamente.

Dopo averlo ucciso ha un rapporto con il suo corpo, lo fa a pezzi e come aveva già fatto altre volte, mangia alcune delle parti.

Gli agenti di cui abbiamo parlato prima, che hanno fatto questo gravissimo errore di valutazione, vennero poi ovviamente pesantemente criticati,

perché nonostante fossero arrivati in prossimità dell'appartamento, il loro comportamento era risultato a dir poco superficiale.

Se quella sera fossero entrati a casa di Dahmer, avrebbero visto il cadavere di un'altra vittima ancora riverso sul letto.

Ma questa loro superficialità gli costò solamente una temporanea sospensione.

Vennero infatti reintegrati poco dopo con delle mansioni minori, ma a quel ragazzino il loro errore di valutazione invece costò la vita.

Conorac è stata la sua tredicesima vittima.

Gli omicidi purtroppo proseguono con Matt Turner di 20 anni. Matt era un ragazzo afroamericano scappato di casa per inseguire il sogno di diventare un modello.

Jeremiah Weinberg era originario di Porto Rico e lavorava a Chicago come assistente alla clientela.

Di lui si sa che era un ragazzo estremamente ordinato e attento al suo stile.

Oliver Lacey, afroamericano, era originario dell'Illinois e dopo la morte del padre aveva preso sulle spalle tutta la sua famiglia.

Era un aspirante bodybuilder con una figlia di due anni e una fidanzata da sposare.

Joseph Bredhoft era cresciuto in Illinois e si era trasferito in Minnesota per cercare un lavoro che lo aiutasse a mantenere la sua famiglia.

Aveva infatti tre figli ed era descritto come un padre amorevole e responsabile.

Ma arriviamo finalmente al luglio del 1991 quando una sera in un locale Dahmer conosce Tracy Edwards, la sua ultima vittima.

Tracy era insieme a due suoi amici quando Dahmer si era avvicinato a loro e gli aveva offerto 100 dollari in cambio del solito servizio fotografico.

Una volta dentro l'appartamento Tracy si accorge subito del forte odore che Dahmer giustifica con la scusa della carne nel congelatore andata male.

La stanza è in disordine e l'odore è veramente insopportabile.

La situazione a Tracy non piaceva ma non sapeva bene come uscirne, considerato che sul tavolo della cucina c'era un coltello ben visibile, oltre che a un trapano e a delle macchie di sangue.

A un certo punto Dahmer gli dice di girarsi a guardare il suo acquario con dentro i suoi pesci tropicali e quando Tracy lo fa, Dahmer gli chiude una manetta intorno al polso.

Successivamente lo costringe ad entrare in camera da letto per vedere un film, l'esorcista, come se l'ambiente non fosse già abbastanza inquietante di per sé.

E a un certo punto Dahmer lo costringe a sdraiarsi sul letto.

La richiesta che gli fa è semplice, voleva ascoltare i battiti del suo cuore.

Data la situazione il ragazzo gli domanda il perché e Dahmer senza mostrare il minimo cenno di cedimento gli risponde, lo voglio ascoltare perché dopo me lo mangerò.

E nonostante i peggiori epiloghi ipotizzabili, il ragazzo riesce a fuggire dalla casa del mostro.

E Dahmer non lo segue neanche, si limita a guardarlo e a chiudere la porta di casa.

Il ragazzo corre e urla a perdifiato e ad un certo punto incontra i fari di una pattuglia.

Gli agenti si avvicinano chiedendogli spiegazioni perché davanti ai loro occhi avevano un ragazzo con un paio di manette pensolanti da un polso e mezzo nudo e in uno stato di completa agitazione.

Il ragazzo gli racconta tutto e gli agenti si fanno portare fuori dall'appartamento di Dahmer.

Bustano la porta e lui come se niente fosse li apre e gli spiega di nuovo che i due erano solo amanti, avevano solo litigato.

Gli agenti però questa volta gli chiedono di entrare. Lui apre e loro si fanno largo in quelle stanze dell'orrore.

Ovviamente anche gli agenti notano il forte odore al che Dahmer risponde di nuovo con la solita scusa.

Aveva tantissima carne in un congelatore, il congelatore si era rotto e la carne era andata male.

Gli agenti allora gli chiedono dove tenesse le chiavi delle manette così da poter liberare Tracy.

Lui gli risponde che le chiavi si trovavano all'interno del primo cassetto del comodino della camera da letto.

Un agente allora si fa avanti nella camera e subito nota delle grosse macchie di sangue sul letto.

E aprendo il cassetto del comodino, oltre alle chiavi delle manette, vede tantissimi scatti fatti con la polaroid.

E guardando meglio in quei frammenti nota tutto l'orrore di Dahmer.

Scatti di corpi mutilati, smembrati, trattati come se fossero non persone ma oggetti.

A quel punto Dahmer si rende conto e tenta di scappare, ma gli agenti alla fine lo ammanettano e chiamano i rinforzi.

Mentre aspettano gli altri agenti, l'agente Rolf Müller apre il frigorifero.

Dentro ci trova una testa umana tagliata da poco.

Dahmer che a quel punto si trovava ammanettato e sdraiato sul pavimento lo guarda ed esclama

Dovrei essere morto per le cose che ho fatto.

In tutto nell'appartamento di Dahmer trovano altre tre teste umane, sette teschi, due cuori e altri pezzi di corpi tipo mani, un torace e organi vari compresi dei genitali maschili.

Oltre a questo trovano anche un bidone con all'interno altri pezzi di corpi ammassati nella forma aldeide.

Le polaroide che documentavano gli orrori compiuti in tutto erano 74.

Jeffrey Dahmer ha ucciso più di 17 persone nel corso degli anni, dal 1979 al 1991.

Ho voluto darvi quante più informazioni su di loro, anche se purtroppo non sono molte.

Appare comunque evidente la predilezione di Dahmer per giovani ragazzi afroamericani o comunque di colore e con aspirazioni di diventare modelli o comunque di lavorare nel mondo dello spettacolo.

Inoltre li sceglieva anche chiaramente per la bellezza dei loro tratti e del loro corpo.

Se si considera quello che è stato ritrovato nel suo appartamento, possiamo dire che il suo fosse a tutti gli effetti un macabro collezionismo.

La cosa più assurda è che in tutto questo tempo non fu mai scoperto né dai vicini di casa né tanto meno dalla polizia.

Nemmeno le proteste dei vicini di casa servirono a convincere la polizia a fare un sopralluogo.

Infatti le persone che vivevano negli appartamenti attigui a quello del mostro si lamentavano costantemente dell'odore nauseabondo e dei continui rumori a tutte le ore.

Vi basta di pensare che Dahmer faceva a pezzi le sue vittime usando un seghetto.

Ora, nella serie tv la figura della vicina di casa di Dahmer risulta essere molto importante, ma questa parte è stata un po' romanzata nel telefilm.

Quella che nel telefilm era la vicina della porta accanto a Dahmer, Glenda Cleveland, nella realtà abitava nel palazzo a fianco ed era la madre di Sandra Smith e la zia di Nicole Childress,

che erano, se vi ricordate, due delle donne che avevano aiutato Conerack quando era scappato.

Glenda, nonostante non abitasse nell'appartamento a fianco al killer, aveva comunque notato molte stranezze ed è stata proprio lei ad effettuare la chiamata al 911.

Loro raccontano di aver dovuto mettere degli asciugamani sotto le porte per evitare che il pungente odore di putrefazioni si insinuasse nella loro abitazione.

Comunque, il 21 luglio del 1991, finalmente, Dahmer viene catturato e arrestato.

Il suo processo iniziò il 30 gennaio del 1992 a Milwaukee.

Qui dovette rispondere a 15 capi d'accusa davanti al giudice Lawrence Graham.

Vennero fatte diverse perizie psichiatriche, le quali rivelarono che il killer soffrisse di disturbo borderline della personalità, disturbo schizoide della personalità e del disturbo.

Nonostante ciò, venne considerato legalmente sano, quindi comunque in grado di sostenere un processo.

Dahmer si dichiarò colpevole e raccontò tutti i nei minimi particolari agli agenti di polizia.

Il 13 luglio del 1992 venne emessa la sentenza, che lo riteneva colpevole dei capi di imputazione, condannandolo alla pena dell'ergastolo per ogni omicidio commesso.

Quindi per un totale di più di 900 anni di prigione.

Era un modo per assicurarsi che Dahmer non avrebbe mai più rivisto la luce del sole.

Durante gli anni del carcere, Dahmer si converte al cristianesimo e a tal proposito ha rilasciato un'intervista ad un giornalista, nella quale si assume tutta la colpa di quello che ha fatto.

Questo dettaglio amici lo trovo interessante considerando che è stato proprio con un manubrio che Dahmer aveva tolto la vita alla sua prima vittima se ci pensate.

L'aggressione risulterà fatale, Dahmer morirà durante il trasporto verso l'ospedale e il suo cervello verrà poi prelevato per studi scientifici.

Questo evento genera un circolo vizioso di ansia e frustrazioni derivanti dalla paura di essere impotente e questo avrebbe contribuito ad alimentare quelle fantasie perverse di possesso e dominio.

Damer desiderava che le sue vittime restassero accanto a lui per sempre immobili. Proprio per questo motivo nel suo appartamento aveva un altarino dove conservava tutti i teschi delle sue vittime.

Anche il cannibalismo era uno dei modi che Damer utilizzava per creare una fusione con le sue vittime, cioè mangiando i loro corpi essi diventavano una sua appendice.
