لما بلغت السابعة من عمري، أمرني أبي بالصلاة، وكنت تعلمت كثيرا من الأدعية وحفظت سورا من القرآن الكريم من أمي، "When"|"reached"||||commanded me||to pray|"I had"|had learned|||supplications|memorized|verses of Quran||||| Als ich sieben Jahre alt war, befahl mir mein Vater zu beten, und ich hatte von meiner Mutter viele Gebete gelernt und einige Kapitel des Heiligen Korans auswendig gelernt. When I was seven years old, my father ordered me to pray, and I had learned many supplications and memorized chapters of the Holy Quran from my mother.

وكانت أمي تتكلم معي كل ليلة عند المنام فتقص علي قصص الأنبياء، وكنت أسمع هذه القصص بنشاط ورغبة. |||||||bedtime|tell|||the prophets' stories||listen to||prophet stories|with enthusiasm|eagerness Meine Mutter redete jeden Abend, wenn ich schlief, mit mir und erzählte mir die Geschichten der Propheten, und ich hörte diesen Geschichten mit Begeisterung und Verlangen zu. My mother used to talk to me every night in my dreams and tell me stories of the prophets. I would listen to these stories eagerly and with interest.

وبدأت أذهب مع أبي إلى المسجد، وأقوم في صف الأطفال خلف صف الرجال، Et j'ai commencé|||||||||||| "And I started"||||||||line||behind||the men Ich fing an, mit meinem Vater in die Moschee zu gehen und stand in der Kinderreihe hinter der Männerreihe. I began going to the mosque with my father, and I would stand in the children's row behind the men's row.

ولما بلغت العاشرة من عمري، قال لي مرةً قد أكملت الآن من عمرك تسع سنين، |||||||une fois||||||| |||||||"one time"||have completed||||nine years old| Als ich zehn Jahre alt war, sagte er einmal zu mir: Du bist jetzt neun Jahre alt. When I reached the age of ten, he once said to me, 'You have now completed nine years of your age.'

والآن أنت ابن عشر سنين فإذا تركت صلاة ضربتك، |||ten years old||then|you abandon||I hit you Jetzt bist du zehn Jahre alt, und wenn du es versäumst zu beten, werde ich dich schlagen. And now you are ten years old, so if you neglect your prayer, you will be struck.

لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال مروا أولادكم بالصلاة وهم أبناء سبع سنين، |||||||Ordonnez à|||||| |the prophet|"peace be upon him"|||and grant peace||command|your children|||children|seven| Denn der Prophet, möge Gott ihn segnen und ihm Frieden schenken, sagte: „Befiehl deinen Kindern zu beten, wenn sie sieben Jahre alt sind.“ Because the Prophet, peace be upon him, said instruct your children to pray when they are seven years old,

واضربوهم عليها وهم أبناء عشر، And beat them|on her||ten years old| Und schlug sie dafür, als sie zehn Jahre alt waren. And strike them with it when they are ten years old,

وقص علي أبي قصص الأطفال الذين حافظوا على الصلاة في الصغر، a raconté|||||||||| told||||||kept up||||childhood Mein Vater erzählte mir die Geschichten von Kindern, die Gebete auswendig lernten, als sie klein waren. And my father told me the stories of the children who maintained their prayers in their youth,

وكان لهم شأن في الكبر، ||une importance|| "And they had"||significance||old age Sie hatten große Würde, And they had a great status in adulthood,

قلت يا أبي إنك لا تحتاج إلى أن تضربني، وسأحافظ على الصلوات، |||"you"||"need"|||hit me|"I will keep"||the prayers I said, O my father, you do not need to hit me, and I will keep up with the prayers.

وكذلك فعلت فقد كنت أصلي أينما كنت، "And so"|did|"for I had"|||wherever I was| And I did the same, for I used to pray wherever I was.

كنت إذا ذهبت إلى السوق أو كنت في شغل، وأدركتني الصلاة في مكان صليت، |||||||||m'a surpris|||| ||||||I was||busy with something|"and prayer time"||||prayed Whenever I went to the market or was busy with work, and the prayer time came upon me, I would pray in that place.

لأني أرى الناس لا يخجلون من الأكل إذا جاعوا، ||||n'ont pas honte|||| ||||feel ashamed||eating|"when"|get hungry Because I see that people are not ashamed of eating when they are hungry,

واللعب إذا أرادوا، فلماذا أخجل من الصلاة؟ ||voulaient||avoir honte|| and playing||they wanted to|So why|feel ashamed|| and playing when they want to, so why should I be ashamed of praying?

وإن الصلاة لفريضة، وإن الصلاة لشرف للمسلم، ||an obligation|||an honor|for the Muslim And indeed, prayer is an obligation, and indeed, prayer is an honor for the Muslim.

وخرجت مرة إلى مباراة وكان الزحام شديدا، |||un match||| "and went out"|||sports match||the crowd| I once went out to a match and the crowd was very heavy.

وأدركتني صلاة العصر وكنت على وضوء، "the Asr prayer"||the afternoon prayer|||ablution The afternoon prayer caught me while I was in a state of ablution.

فقمت أصلي وجعل الناس ينظرون إلي ويتعجبون، ||||||s'étonnent I started|I prayed|started||looking at me|to me|and wonder So I stood up to pray and people were looking at me in wonder,

وأكملت صلاتي بسكينة واعتدال ورجعت إلى المباراة، |||et modération||| And I completed|my prayer|with tranquility|and composure|||the match I completed my prayer with tranquility and composure and returned to the match,

ولما انتهت المباراة جاء إلي رجل وسألني عن اسمي واسم والدي، ||||to me||"and asked me"|about||my father's name| When the match ended, a man came to me and asked for my name and my father's name,

وسألني عن سني فأخبرته، ||my age|I told him He asked me about my age and I told him.

فأثنى على أبي خيراً، a loué||| praised|||something good He praised my father well.

ودعا لي بالبركة، prayed for||with blessings

وقال ما رأيت ولداً يصلي في المباراة ويترك كثير من الناس الصلاة في هذا الوقت، |"I did not"||a boy||||abandons||||||| He said, “I have never seen a child pray during a match, and many people leave prayer at this time.”

فحمدت الله وشركت أبي، praised||and thanked| I thanked God and joined my father.

ولا أترك الصلاة إذا كنت مسافراً، |leave|prayer|||traveling I do not leave prayer if I am traveling,

وأرى كثيراً من الناس يصلون في الحضر ويتركون الصلاة في السفر، and I see||||||urban areas|"and abandon"||| I see many people praying in the city and not praying when traveling.

ويصلون في الصحة ولا يصلون في المرض، "they pray"||good health||||illness

مع أن الصلاة لا تسقط عن أحد، ||||is not waived|| Although prayer is not waived for anyone,

وأرى كثيراً من الناس لا يصلون باعتدال وسكينة، ||||||with moderation| I see many people who do not pray moderately and calmly.

ويسرعون كثيراً، et accélèrent beaucoup| "and they hurry"| they go too fast,

ولا أذكر أني تركت صلاة في هذه السنوات الأربع، |"I recall"|that I|||||the years|four years I do not remember that I missed a prayer during these four years.

وإذا نمت عنها أو نسيتها صليتها إذا تذكرت، "And if"|slept|||forgot it|I prayed it||remembered it And if I forget it or sleep through it, I pray it when I remember.

وإني أسأل الله تعالى التوفيق والثبات. And I|||the Exalted|success|steadfastness And I ask Allah the Almighty for success and steadfastness.
