Marcum, Capitulum 10
Mark, Chapter 10

1 And rising from thence, he came into the territories of Judea beyond the Jordan: and the people assembled again to him: and as he was accustomed to do, he taught them again.
2 Et accedentes pharisæi interrogabant eum : Si licet viro uxorem dimittere : tentantes eum.
2 And the Pharisees coming, asked him: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife, tempting him.
3 At ille respondens, dixit eis : Quid vobis præcepit Moyses ?
3 But he answering, said to them: What did Moses command you?
4 Who said: Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put her away.
5 Quibus respondens Jesus, ait : Ad duritiam cordis vestri scripsit vobis præceptum istud : 6 ab initio autem creaturæ masculum et feminam fecit eos Deus.
|||||||||||isto||||||||||
5 To whom Jesus answering, said: Because of the hardness of your heart, he wrote you this commandment: 6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Por causa||deixará|||||||se unirá|||||||||
Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 Quod ergo Deus conjunxit, homo non separet.
9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
10 Et in domo iterum discipuli ejus de eodem interrogaverunt eum.
10 And again in the house his disciples asked him about the same thing.
11 Et ait illis : Quicumque dimiserit uxorem suam, et aliam duxerit, adulterium committit super eam.
|||||||||casar-se||||
And he said to them: Whoever puts away his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her.
12 And if a wife divorces her husband, and marries another, he commits adultery.
13 Et offerebant illi parvulos ut tangeret illos.
|||||tocasse|
13 And they brought to him little ones to touch them.
Discipuli autem comminabantur offerentibus.
The disciples rebuked those who brought them.
|||||suportou indignamente|||||pequenos||||||||||||
14 And when Jesus saw them, he took it with indignation, and said to them: Suffer the little children to come to me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Amen dico vobis : Quisquis non receperit regnum Dei velut parvulus, non intrabit in illud.
15 Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a child, will not enter into it.
16 Et complexans eos, et imponens manus super illos, benedicebat eos.
16 And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
17 Et cum egressus esset in viam, procurrens quidam genu flexo ante eum, rogabat eum : Magister bone, quid faciam ut vitam æternam percipiam ?
17 And as he was going out into the way, a certain man ran and knelt before him, and asked him: Good Master, what shall I do to receive eternal life?
18 Jesus autem dixit ei : Quid me dicis bonum ?
|||||||bom
18 And Jesus said to him: Why do you call me good?
nemo bonus, nisi unus Deus.
no one is good but one God.
|||||||fure||||||||||||
19 You know the commandments: do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not rage, do not bear false witness, do not commit fraud, honor your father and mother.
20 At ille respondens, ait illi : Magister, hæc omnia observavi a juventute mea.
20 But he, answering, said to him: Master, I have observed all these things from my youth.
21 Jesus autem intuitus eum, dilexit eum, et dixit ei : Unum tibi deest : vade, quæcumque habes vende, et da pauperibus, et habebis thesaurum in cælo : et veni, sequere me.
||||amou|||||||||||||||||||||||
21 And Jesus, seeing him, loved him, and said to him: You lack one thing: go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
22 He who was grieved at the word went away dying: for he had many possessions.
23 Et circumspiciens Jesus, ait discipulis suis : Quam difficile qui pecunias habent, in regnum Dei introibunt !
And Jesus looking around, said to his disciples: How hard it is for them that have riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
24 Discipuli autem obstupescebant in verbis ejus.
24 But the disciples were amazed at his words.
At Jesus rursus respondens ait illis : Filioli, quam difficile est, confidentes in pecuniis, in regnum Dei introire !
||||||filhinhos||||||||||
But Jesus again answering, said to them: Little children, how difficult is it, trusting in money, to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Who were astonished the more, saying among themselves: Who then can be saved?
And Jesus looking at them, said: With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.
28 And Peter began to say to him, Behold, we have left all and followed you.
29 Jesus answering, said: Amen I say to you: there is none that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands for me and for the gospel. : houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and fields, with persecutions, and life everlasting in the world to come.
31 And many shall be first last, and first last.
32 And they were on the way going up to Jerusalem: and Jesus went before them, and were astonished, and feared following them.

And taking the twelve again, he began to tell them what was going to happen to him.
33 For, behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes and the elders; and they will condemn him to death, and deliver him to the nations. .
35 And there come to him James and John the sons of Zebedee, saying: Master, we will do to us whatever we may ask.
36 At ille dixit eis : Quid vultis ut faciam vobis ?
36 And he said to them: What will you that I should do for you?
37 And they said: Grant to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38 Jesus autem ait eis : Nescitis quid petatis : potestis bibere calicem, quem ego bibo, aut baptismo, quo ego baptizor, baptizari ?
38 And Jesus said to them, You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I drink, or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?
39 At illi dixerunt ei : Possumus.
39 But they said to him: We can.
But Jesus said to them, "You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink; and with the baptism by which I am baptized, you will be baptized.
41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be indignant about James and John.
42 Jesus autem vocans eos, ait illis : Scitis quia hi, qui videntur principari gentibus, dominantur eis : et principes eorum potestatem habent ipsorum.
42 And Jesus, calling them, said to them: You know that those who seem to rule over the nations, rule over them, and their princes have power over them.
43 And it is not so among you, but whoever will be the greatest will be your servant. 44 And whoever will be the first among you will be the servant of all.
45 For the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.

46 And they came to Jericho, and as he was going from Jericho, with his disciples, and a very great multitude, the blind man, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the way side begging. 48 And many rebuked him that he should keep his peace.
At ille multo magis clamabat : Fili David, miserere mei.49 Et stans Jesus præcepit illum vocari.
But he cried out much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me. 49 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be called.
Et vocant cæcum, dicentes ei : Animæquior esto : surge, vocat te.50 Qui projecto vestimento suo exiliens, venit ad eum.51 Et respondens Jesus dixit illi : Quid tibi vis faciam ?

And they call the blind man, saying to him: Take good courage, arise, he calls you.
||||||I may see||||||||||
And the blind man said to him, Rabboni, that I may see. 52 And Jesus said to him, Go, your faith has saved you.
Et confestim vidit, et sequebatur eum in via.

And immediately he saw, and followed him on the way.
