Hillard and Botting, Elementary Latin Translation
Hillard and Botting, Elementary Latin Translation
Hillard and Botting, originally published in 1906, is one of the great products of the Grammar Translation era and still widely used today.
Elementary Latin Translation consists of 96 chapters about Roman history, each of which includes only grammar and vocabulary done so far in the course.
I'm going to put in translations for the first ten chapters. After that you will have to buy the Answer key written by Anthony Gourlay.

It will also be worth getting the companion "Compendium" volume, which contains 100 sets of English into Latin exercises (answers for these are also in the Answer key).
