Give thanks|to the Lord|with|the harp|with|the psaltery|ten|strings|sing praises|to Him 2 Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings. 3 Cantate ei canticum novum ; bene psallite ei in vociferatione. Sing|to him|song|new|well|sing|to him|with|shouting 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. 4 Quia rectum est verbum Domini, et omnia opera ejus in fide. For|right|is|word|of the Lord|and|all|works|his|in|faith 4 For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done in faith. 5 Diligit misericordiam et judicium ; misericordia Domini plena est terra. loves|mercy|and|judgment|mercy|of the Lord|full|is|earth 5 He loves mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord. 6 Verbo Domini cæli firmati sunt, et spiritu oris ejus omnis virtus eorum. Gathering|as|in|bottle|waters|of the sea|placing|in|treasures|the depths 7 He gathers the waters of the sea as in a wineskin; he puts the depths in storehouses. 8 Timeat Dominum omnis terra ; ab eo autem commoveantur omnes inhabitantes orbem. May fear|the Lord|all|earth|from|him|but|may be shaken|all|inhabitants|world 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world tremble before him. 9 Quoniam ipse dixit, et facta sunt ; ipse mandavit et creata sunt. for|he|said|and|were made|they are|he|commanded|and|were created|they are 9 For he said, and it was done; he commanded, and it was created. 10 Dominus dissipat consilia gentium ; reprobat autem cogitationes populorum, et reprobat consilia principum. The Lord|scatters|plans|of the nations|rejects|but|thoughts|of the peoples|and|rejects|plans|of the rulers 10 The Lord brings to nothing the plans of the nations; he frustrates the purposes of the peoples, and he rejects the plans of the princes. 11 Consilium autem Domini in æternum manet ; cogitationes cordis ejus in generatione et generationem. Blessed|nation|whose|is|Lord|God|his|people|whom|chose|for|inheritance|to himself 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. 13 De cælo respexit Dominus ; vidit omnes filios hominum. From|prepared|dwelling|his|looked down|upon|all|who|inhabit|earth|who|formed|individually|hearts|of them|who|understands|all|works|of them |||||||||||ha formato|||||||| 14 He looked down from his prepared dwelling place over all who dwell on the earth: 15 he who fashioned their hearts individually; he who understands all their works. 16 Non salvatur rex per multam virtutem, et gigas non salvabitur in multitudine virtutis suæ. Not|is saved|king|by|much|virtue|and|giant|not|will be saved|in|multitude|of virtue|his 16 The king is not saved by a multitude of forces, and a giant is not saved by the greatness of his strength. 17 Fallax equus ad salutem ; in abundantia autem virtutis suæ non salvabitur. deceitful|horse|to|safety|in|abundance|however|virtue|his|not|will be saved 17 A deceptive horse is for salvation; but in the abundance of his strength he will not be saved. 18 Ecce oculi Domini super metuentes eum, et in eis qui sperant super misericordia ejus : 19 ut eruat a morte animas eorum, et alat eos in fame. Behold|eyes|of the Lord|upon|fearing|him|and|in|them|who|hope|upon|mercy|his|that|he may deliver|from|death|souls|of them|and|he may feed|them|in|famine |||||||||||||||salvi||||||||| 18 Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, and on those who hope in his mercy: 19 to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Anima nostra sustinet Dominum, quoniam adjutor et protector noster est. The soul|our|sustains|Lord|because|helper|and|protector|our|is 20 Our soul waits for the Lord, for he is our help and our shield. 21 Quia in eo lætabitur cor nostrum, et in nomine sancto ejus speravimus. For|in|it|will rejoice|heart|our|and|in|name|holy|his|we have hoped 21 For our heart will rejoice in him, and in his holy name we have hoped. 22 Fiat misericordia tua, Domine, super nos, quemadmodum speravimus in te.
