Mi dolĉe glutas teon, I|sweetly|drink|tea I sweetly sip tea,

sed amare aŭdas veon: but|to love|hears|sorrow but bitterly hear woe:

Ĉi-jare oni diras, ||they|say This year they say,

ke rikolto abundas, that|harvest|is abundant that the harvest is abundant,

sed, plugistoj ĝemspiras, but|the pluggers|groan but, the plowmen sigh,
