唔怕 夜晚黑 Don't be afraid of the darkness of the night

我 怕 夜晚黑 。

當 四圍 變 得 又 靜 、 又 黑鼆鼆 嘅 時候 ， 就 可能 會 有 怪物 出現 嚟 對付 我 。 When the surroundings become quiet and dark, monsters may appear to deal with me. 有 媽咪 喺 旁邊 ， 我 先 可以 瞓 得 著 。 I can sleep when my mom is around.

但係 媽咪 嚟緊 夜晚 要 返 醫院 做嘢 。 But mom is coming back to the hospital at night to do something. 佢 特登 申請 放 一 日 假 ， 同 我 去 長洲 玩 。 He applied for a day off and went to Cheung Chau with me.

媽咪 帶 我 去 到 一 個 有 好多 石頭 嘅 地方 ， 我哋 踩 住 幾 嚿 大石 行 落 地底 。 My mom took me to a place with lots of rocks and we stepped on a bunch of boulders and walked down to the ground. 嗰度 有 一 個 窿 ， 裏面 好 黑 ， 比 夜晚 更加 黑 。 There is a hole there, and it is dark, darker than night. 我 拉 住 媽咪 唔想 行 入去 ， 佢 話 ： 「 有 陽光 喺 你 後面 ， 又 有 我 行 喺 前面 ， 唔使 怕 㗎 。 」 I grabbed mom, not wanting to go in, and she said, "The sun is behind you, and I'm in front, don't be afraid. I'm not afraid."

窿 入面 好 靜 ， 我 聽 到 自己 個 心 跳 得 好 快 ， 就 捉 實 媽咪 繼續 向 前 行 。 The hole was so quiet, I heard my heart beating so fast, so I grabbed my mom and kept going. 冇 幾耐 ， 前面 變 得 好 光 。 Not for long, the future looks bright. 媽咪 話 我哋 已經 嚟 到 窿 嘅 另 一 邊 ， 爬 上去 就 係 出口 。 Mom said we have come to the other side of the hole and climbed up to the exit. 佢 又 話 ， 呢個 窿 叫做 「 張保仔 洞 」 。

夜晚 準備 上船 嘅 時候 ， 媽咪 叫 我 𩓥 高 頭 望 下 。 At night, when I was getting ready to board the boat, my mom told me to look down. 天空 上面 佈滿 星星 ， 我 問 ： 「 點解 平時 冇 咁 多 星星 嘅 ？ The sky was filled with stars and I asked, "Why are there not so many stars? 」

媽咪 話 ： 「 因為 香港 夜晚 有 太 多 燈 著 住 ， 燈光 掩蓋 咗 星星 嘅 微光 ， 即係 人哋 講 嘅 光 污染 。 My mother says, "Because there are so many lights in Hong Kong at night, they cover up the light from the stars, which is what we call light pollution. 呢度 係 離島 ， 冇 呢個 問題 。 」 This is an outlying island and there is no such problem. The question is: "What is the relationship with the island?

我 第 一 次 覺得 夜晚 黑 係 咁 靚 。

之後 ， 媽咪 夜晚 唔 喺度 ， 婆婆 嚟 睇 住 我 。 After that, when my mother was not around at night, my mother-in-law came to see me. 我 眼光光 ， 婆婆 問 我 做咩 事 唔肯 瞓覺 。 My eyes are open and my mother-in-law asks me what I am doing that I am not willing to sleep.

我 話 我 怕 黑 ， 冇 媽咪 陪 住 會 瞓 唔 著 。 I said I am afraid of the dark and I can't sleep without my mom.

婆婆 指 住 窗邊 ， 話 ： 「 你 數 下 附近 有 幾多 盞 開 住 嘅 燈 ？ Grandma pointed to the window and said, "How many lights are on in the neighborhood? 」

一 、 二 、 三 、 四 、 五 、 六 、 七 、 八 ⋯⋯ 我 數 唔 曬 ， 有 好多 盞 燈 著 住 呀 ！

「 出面 有 幾多 盞 燈 開 住 ， 就 有 幾多 個 人 同 你 一樣 未 瞓覺 。 "As many lights are on, as there are people like you who are not sleeping. 黑鼆鼆 嗰陣 ， 喺 你 身邊 一定 仲 有 光 ， 即使 可能 好 微弱 ⋯⋯ 」

「 好似 星星 噉 ？ 」

「 好 聰明 呀 。 除咗 星星 ， 呢度 仲 有 好多 人 陪 住 你 ， 包括 返 緊 工 嘅 媽咪 。 Apart from the stars, there are many other people to keep you company, including your mom who is working. 時間 會 過渡 ， 黑鼆鼆 之後 ， 朝早 點 都 會 嚟 ， 周圍 又 會 光 返 晒 。 Time will pass, and after the darkness, the morning will come, and the neighborhood will return to light. 所以 —— 」

所以 ， 夜晚黑 一啲 都 唔 可怕 ！ Therefore, the darkness of the night is not at all terrible!
