ついに ね 、ちょっと 進展 が あった 前々 からの 目標 ？ 願望 ？ に ついて お 話したい と 思って います 。 皆さん 、最後 まで 聴いて ください ね 。

最近 ついに ちょっと 一 歩 進んだ なって こと が あり まして 、

今日 は その お 話 を したい と 思う のです が それ は です ね 、スペイン 語 の 勉強 です 。

何度 か この ポッドキャスト でも お 話し して きた のです が 、ずっと ずっと スペイン 語 勉強 したい なって 言い 続けて は や 、どの くらい ？

少なくとも 3 年 は 言って て 、

そもそも ね 、今 カリフォルニア に 住んで いる んです が 、

カリフォルニア は 南端 が メキシコ と の 国境 と いう こと も あって 、メキシコ を 始め 中米 、南米 から の 移民 が 多い んです よね 。

で 、特に 私 が 今 住んでいる エリア って いう の は 移民 や メキシコ系 アメリカ人 、ヒスパニック系 の 人 です ね 、が もう 、とっても 多い んです よ 。

この 辺 は 野菜 の 畑 が たくさん あって 、畑 で 働いて いる 人 たち は そういった 移民 の 人 たち が 多い んです よね 。

だから スンゴイ 大きい 、メキシカンコミュニティ だったり 、ヒスパニックコミュニティ が あります 。 引っ越し を 数 回 して いて 、まあ その 度 に 少し は 環境 が 変わってます が 、 今 現在 住んで いる 町 、アパート は もう すぐ 3 年 と なに なる んです けど 、

この 辺り も スペイン 語 を 話す 人達 が とっても 多くて 。

そう 、で ね 、どこ に でも 特定の 地域 からの 移民 が 多い エリア って ある と 思う んです けど 、 私 が 感じる この エリア の 他 と は 違う ところ って 、 スペイン 語 スピーカー の コミュニティ が 大きい が ために 、彼ら は 英語 を 話せ なくて も 生きて いける 状況 に なってる んです よね 、

スペイン 語 だけ で 日々 の 生活 、なんら 困ら ない 状況 なんです よ 。

例えば 、まあ 日本人 だって 、日本人の 集団 の 中 で 生活していたら 、いつでも 助けてくれる 人 も いる し 、どうにか なるんですが 、

この 辺り の スパニッシュスピーカー に 対する サポート って マジ で 、手厚くて 、 例えば 病院 と か 、私 全然 普段 病院 行か ない タイプ な ので 困って ない んです が 、

こども が いる 日本人 の 友達 とか いつも 大変 って 言って て 、 聞きたい こと メモって いったり 、先生 の 話 書き取って 後 から しっかり 調べたり 、 コミュニケーション も スマホ と か 駆使 して 頑張って たり して 、

まあ 、大変 です よ ね 。

一方 で スペイン 語 に 関して は 、この 辺り の 病院 は 間違い なく 、受付 から 診察 まで スペイン 語 で 問題 ないし 、

まあ ドクター が スペイン 語 話せ ない こと は ある と 思います が 、 看護 師 の 少なくとも 半分 は スペイン 語 ・英語 の バイリンガル だ と 思います 。 そう 、だから 問題 ない んです よね 。

病院 だけ で なくて 、だいたい の こと が スペイン 語 で 大丈夫です 。

他の 例 だ と 学校 と かも 、

これ また ね 、友達 の 話 を 聞いて いる と 、

アメリカ に 来 てはじめ の 頃 は 、 こども も 英語 わからない し 、 お母さん も 流暢で は ない 状態 で 、 担任 の 先生 と コミュニケーション 取ったり 、行事 の 準備 したり なんたり って すごく 苦労 する と思う んです けど 、 この 辺り の 学校 は 事務室 に は 間違いなく スペイン語 話せる 人 いる し

先生 も どの くらい か ね 、比率 は わかりません が スペイン 語 話せる 人 が 多い です 。 私 の 旦那さん は 学校 の 先生 を している のです が 、保護者 と の ミーティング は 必ず 通訳 が できる 人 が 同席 して います 。 すごく 親切 じゃ ない です か ？

英語 で 自分 も 苦労 して たり ね 、こういう 学校 の 事 で 頑張って いる 友達 とか いる 立場 の 私 から 言われて もらう と 、 ちょっと 甘い ん じゃない 〜 なんて 思う くらい です 。

銀行 だって スペイン 語 で 問題 ないし 、市 や 町 の 役所 系 も 必ず バイリンガル の 職員 が いる ので 、

もう ね 、英語 を 使う 必要 が ない んです よ 。 彼ら は 。

その 結果 、ほんとに 英語 を 話さ ない 人 が たっく さん 。 たっく さん います 。 で 、それ が 良い か 悪い か とか 、その辺 は 別に 本日 の 議題 で は ない んです が 、ま 、こういう 環境 の 中 で 生活 して います 。 で ね 、ふっつうに スペイン 語 で 話しかけられる こと が ある んです よ 。 こんな めっちゃ アジア 人 に 向かって 、スペイン 語 で 話しかけて くる んです 。 普段 外出 先 でも 話しかけられる こと ある し 、 あと 我が家 が 、うち の アパート の 中 でも 端っこ に あって 、 なんか ね 、人 が 訪ねて きやすい らしくて 、

そう 、しかも うち の アパート 23 部屋 ある んです けど 、部屋 の 配置 が わかり にくくて 、

初めて 来た 配達員 と か 友達 の 家 に 遊び に 来た 人 と か は 必ず 迷ってる んです が 、

そういう 迷える 子羊たち が ね 、なんか よく 我が家 の ドア を ノック して 、

すみ ませ ー んって 来る ん です けど 、 英語 を 話さ ない人 も 多くて 、 毎回 ごめん な さ ースペイン語 わからない ん です ーって 言って ごめん ね する ん です 。 ま 、あと 色々な 勧誘 で 来る 人 とかも 、はな から スペイン 語 話す 人 だけ を ターゲット に している 人たち も 多くて 、

スペイン 語 で バーっと 話しだす 人 も 少なく ない です 。 それ から お店 、メキシカンスーパー とか メキシカンレストラン とか たくさん ある んです が 、

商品 の 表記 と かも スペイン 語 だ し 、

流石 に 店員 さん は 英語 も 話します が 、中 に は スペイン語 だけ 話す スタッフ の 人 も いて 、 もう ここ は アメリカ な の か 、メキシコ な の か と いう 感じ です 。

と いう こと で ね 、そんな 環境 に ずっと いる と 、

最初の 方 は 私 も 英語 に いっぱい いっぱい だった ので あれ でした けど 、

何度 考えて も 、やっぱり これ は スペイン 語 を 習得 す べきな ので は と 思って です ね 。

英語 も 満足に 話せ ない のに 、別の 言語 なんて 〜って 思わ れる かも しれない で すが 、 この エリア に 住ま なかったら スペイン 語 に こんなに 興味 も わか なかった し 、

アメリカ に 来て から 思う の は 、世界 に は 、とくに ヨーロッパ の 人 とか に 多い です が 、

母国 語 と 英語 って いう の は もう 普通な こと で 、 プラス で 他 に も 何 ヶ国 語 も 喋れる 人 が たくさん いて 、

なんか すご～いって思ってて。

ゼロ から ペラペラ に なる の は めっちゃ 時間 かかる と 思います し 、 まず 私 が ペラペラ に なら なきゃ ならない の は 英語 な んです が 、

片言 です が スペイン 語 話せます ！ くらい に は なりたい なって 思い まして 。 そんな 気持ち から なん です が 。

普通に 住んで いる だけ で 、簡単な フレーズ や 挨拶 、モノ の 名前 とか は 覚えて 、

もう 勉強 を 始める 前 の 段階 で 、スペイン語 は 私 に とって 英語 以外 で 一番 知っている 外国語 だった んです 。

中国 語 より も 韓国 語 より も 。

なんか 面白い です よ ね 。

アメリカ に 来る 前 まで は Hola , Amigo , Tacos くらい しか 知ら なかった のに 。

で 最初 は 独学 で ユーチューブ 観たり スペイン 語 学習 サイト 覗いたり 、

お 友達 に いらなく なった スペイン 語 勉強 の 本 もらったり して トライ したんです が

全然 続か なくて 。

やったり 、やら なかったり で 、かれこれ 3 年 位 経つ んです が 、

毎年 今年 は スペイン 語 やる 、今年 こそ はやる なんて 言って て 、続いて いない って いう ね 。 唯一 、 You Tube に あった スペイン 語 の ビギナーフレーズ って いう 30 分間 ひたすら 基本 の フレーズ を スペイン 語 と 英語 で 流している 動画 が ありまして 、 それ を たま ー に 聞いて て 、 だいぶ 覚え た なって 感じ でした 。

覚え たって いって も 、細かな こと は わかって 無くて 、丸 暗記 です けど ね 。

スペイン 語 を 勉強 しよう と 思って いて 、何 に ずっと つっかかって いた か と いう と 、

文法 難しい んです よ 。

いや 、スペイン 語 に 限らない と 思う んです が 、zero から の 語学 習得 って 、マジ 難しい です よね 。 英語 と は 全然 違う 。

日本 人 って 、中学 高校 って 英語 やってきた から 、どんなに 英語 話せ ない 人 でも 、ある 程度 の 単語 は 知ってる でしょ ？ 日本語 に は 外来語 も 多い し ね 。

その 基礎 って ホント 大事な んだ なって 改めて 思って 。 全然 わから ない んだ から 。 ほんとに 。

文法 も 日本 語 と も 英語 と も 違う し 、

まず ね 、男性 名詞 、女性 名詞 が ある し 、それから I you ,he /she ,we ,they それぞれ で 動詞 の 形 が 変化 して くし で 、

難し んです よ 。

フレーズ 丸 暗記 で 、 わ ー 、 覚えた ーって 思って いる くらい なら 楽しい けど 、 いざ 動画 を 観たり 、テキスト を 開いて 文法 を 理解 しよう と して も

全然 入って こなかった んです 。

で 、今年 の 年明け から 、

ついに スペイン 語 の クラス を 受ける こと に して 、

それ が 町 の アダルトスクール って いって 、大人 向け に 色々 クラス を やって いる 場所 な んです が 、 そこ の スペイン 語 1 を 取り 始めた んです 。

この ポッドキャスト でも 前 に 話した んです が 、

勉強 に なる こと は 多くて 、色々な こと を 学んだ んです が 、

やっぱり 初心者 過ぎて 、訳 わから な すぎて 、一応 毎回 授業 に は 行って いた んです が 、

なんとなく いる 、みたいな 。

初心者 クラス でも みんな の レベル は バラバラ で 、まあまあ わかる 人 も いる わけで 、

そんな 中 、ほんっと に パッパラパー の 初心者 の 私 は 、一応 受けて は いる ものの 、ついて いけて ないって いう のが 正直な ところ でした ね 。 もちろん 語彙 と かね 、基本的な 文法 、初心者 クラス だった ので 簡単な 文 しか やってないです けど 、

クラス を 受ける 前 より も 習得

して た んです けど 、

ほんと 、最初の 触り の 部分 を 、文字通り 触って いる って 感じ で 。 宿題 と かも 一応 やる んです が 、宿題 だから やるって いう 状態 で 、 なんか 自分 から 知りたい ！ と か 、覚えたい って 気持ち が あんまり 無くて 、波 に 乗れない って いか 、 そんな 感じ でした 。

それ でも 、まあ これ から もっと 色々 勉強 して く ぞって 思って いた 矢先 に 、この コロナ の パンデミック に なっちゃって 、 で クラス は 休講 に なって しまった と いう 流れ が あります 。 と いう ね 、私 の これ まで の スペイン 語 習得 の 道 だった のです が 、

このまま 萎んで いって しまう と 思われた スペイン語 勉強 、

なんか ね 、ここ に きて 、急に やる 気 に なってる んです 。

はい 、引き続き お 話して いきます 。 はい 、通い 始めた クラス が 中断 して しまって 、

スペイン 語 へ の やる 気 を 失い つつ あった んです が 、

その スペイン 語 クラス の 先生 が です ね 、週 1 回 、オンライン で Zoom で です ね 、無料 で クラス やる から 受けたい 人 は ウエルカム よって いう メール を くれて 、 ど しよう か 迷った んです よ ね 。

もともと あまり ついて いけ ない のに 、オンライン とか 大丈夫 かな ーって 。 で 、オンライン とかってなる と 、スペイン 語 に ついていける 云々 の 前に 、英語 大丈夫 かなって 心配 とかも 出てきちゃって 。 でも 基本 何 日 か 前 に 授業 で 使う プリント を メール で 送って くれる から 予習 できる し 、

受けて みよう か なって 思って 、

で 、受け 始めました 。 簡単な ストーリー が あって 、それ を 一人 ずつ 2,3 行 を 声 に 出して 読んで 訳して って やっていく んです が 、 これ が ね 、すごい 難しい し 緊張 する し 、大変な のです ー 。
