057 - Buoni propositi, niente carta in ufficio e Val Müstair

Ciao a tutti da Francesca e benvenuti sul podcast Al dente. Oggi è il 16 gennaio e prima di tutto voglio darvi la risposta alla domanda della scorsa puntata: in Italia, dalla fine della seconda guerra mondiale, sono cambiati tantissimi governi e i numeri sono un po' controversi. Il dato riportato dalla CNN è di 62 governi. Ma nel frattempo ho fatto una piccola ricerca e ho trovato altri numeri. Infatti, se consideriamo anche i governi di transizione, dal 1945 al 1948, abbiamo un numero totale di 65. Se invece guardiamo solo quelli usciti dalle elezioni politiche, sono 60. Insomma, anche nei numeri c'è da discutere, come vedete… Ma passiamo ai temi di questa puntata: sentite un po', avete anche voi delle brutte abitudini che volete perdere?Non so… volete smettere di mangiarvi le unghie… oppure di fumare…. Bene, allora fra un po' vi parlerò di un oggetto che potrebbe esservi utile per raggiungere il vostro obiettivo. Poi vi parlerò di come eliminare totalmente l'uso della carta in ufficio. E, per finire, vi porterò a conoscere una parte di Svizzera che si trova proprio al confine con l'Italia: la val Müstair. Buon ascolto!

Cari ascoltatori, sono sicura che a qualcuno di voi, col nuovo anno, è venuto in mente qualche buon proposito [1]. Vero? Eh, beh, è molto facile fare promesse… ma com'è difficile mantenerle [2]! Quante volte abbiamo detto cose tipo: “Da gennaio farò ginnastica ogni giorno”… oppure: “Da quest'anno smetterò di mangiare così tanti dolci…” Buoni propositi che, dopo qualche settimana, finiscono nel dimenticatoio [3]. Eh, sì, siamo deboli, debolissimi quando si tratta di perdere le nostre brutte abitudini. E allora, che fare? Beh, qualcuno ci ha pensato.Vi presento “Pavlok”, il bracciale [4] che ci aiuterà a mantenere le promesse fatte a noi stessi. Come? Dunque…Prima di tutto bisogna dire che Pavlok non è un bracciale qualunque… È stato progettato in modo da diventare il nostro guardiano, uno che ci dà una punizione se non rispettiamo gli accordi fatti. Un esempio? Vediamo… Volete smettere di guardare troppa televisione. Oppure evitare di mangiare nei fast food. Bene, in un modo che non so, perché il bracciale –sempre se esiste davvero-uscirà in aprile, Pavlok si accorge se voi fate uno “sgarro [5]” e vi punisce. Bene, ma come fa? Come funziona questo aggeggio? Dunque... il bracciale è accompagnato da un'applicazione dove vengono selezionate le abitudini che vogliamo perdere. E se voi non state ai patti [6], lui vi punisce con una vibrazione, una scossa elettrica più o meno forte,oppure inviando automaticamente su Facebook la pubblicazione del vostro errore… Facendovi fare una brutta figura con tutti i vostri amici! Il nome di questo strano aggeggio deriva da quello di Ivan Pavlov, il medico russo autore della scoperta del riflesso condizionato. Pavlov, alla fine dell'Ottocento, aveva scoperto che il cervello controlla non solo i comportamenti sociali, ma anche quelli del corpo. Secondo gli autori del progetto, grazie al riflesso prodotto dalle punizioni del bracciale Pavlok, dopo un certo periodo di tempo le cattive abitudini vengono eliminate per sempre, proprio perché associate alla piccola punizione ricevuta. Ma qui viene la parte più interessante: con lo stesso sistema, si possono introdurre cambiamenti positivi, ad esempio... Mettiamo che voi vogliate, non so, ricominciare a dipingere, o imparare nuove parole di una lingua straniera, fare più sport, e così via. Si possono introdurre nel sistema questi buoni propositi e... chissà come funziona, quando facciamo queste buone cose?! Pavlok ci farà un complimento? Oppure... sentiremo un massaggino al polso? O farà sapere a tutti i nostri amici di Facebook quanto siamo stati bravi?

Mah, cari amici, non so se siete interessati... Io, penso che mi terrò ugualmente le mie cattive abitudini... Semmai proverò a mandarle via da sola, come ho sempre fatto. Magari ne cercherò altre più carine, per sostituire quelle brutte. Eh, detto fra noi, l'idea di avere un carceriere che mi controlla di continuo e addirittura mi punisce ogni volta che sbaglio... Beh, sentite, non fa proprio per me. *

Qualcuno di voi sa per caso quante tonnellate di carta vengono prodotte ogni anno in un ufficio? E in tutti gli uffici del mondo? Io non me lo posso nemmeno immaginare. Ma c'è una società informatica olandese che invece ci ha pensato. Si chiama Decos ed è un'azienda totalmente senza carta. Com'è possibile, direte voi? Beh, nei suoi uffici non ci sono fogli, bloc notes, libri, quaderni e nemmeno biglietti da visita. Non servono i raccoglitori, i fascicoli e anche armadi, cassetti e cestini della spazzatura sono pochissimi. E come si fa a lavorare in queste condizioni? Beh, se si vuole leggere un giornale in ufficio, lo si fa su Internet. Alla mensa ci sono solo tovaglioli di stoffa. Pensate, tutta l'amministrazione è elettronica. Nelle sale riunione, poi, c'è una grande lavagna digitale e tutti gli impiegati hanno un tablet… Così facendo, Decos risparmia circa una tonnellata di carta all'anno. Insomma, la carta è fuori legge in questa ditta. E… in bagno? Da qualche mese anche lì: non esiste più la carta igienica. No, non fate quella faccia… Che cosa andate a pensare? Ci sono modernissime toilette con un sistema lava-asciuga, che è anche molto più igienico. E qui un dato l'ho trovato: sapete quanti alberi vengono tagliati ogni anno per produrre carta igienica per i bisogni di tutto il mondo? Ben 27.000! Una cifra davvero alta… La scelta ambientale di Decos poi riguarda anche le auto dell'azienda, che sono tutte elettriche, e l'uso dell'energia verde, acquistata da fornitori di energia eolica [7]. Insomma, mi sembra una bella notizia, no? Anche se a me, vi devo dire, la carta piace moltissimo… Soprattutto per disegnare o per scrivere lettere ai miei amici. Ma sprecarla, sarete d'accordo con me, è proprio un peccato.Ben vengano quindi proposte innovative come queste dall'Olanda. *

Forse non tutti conoscono quel pezzettino di Svizzera lontanissimo, che si chiama Val Müstair, o Val Monastero, in italiano… Si trova all'estremità orientale delle Alpi svizzere, dietro i ghiacciai [8] dello Stelvio e a pochissimi chilometri dall'Alto Adige. In questa zona, interessante sia dal punto di vista naturalistico che da quello culturale, vivono circa 1700 persone. La lingua che si parla in questa e in altre valli vicine è il romancio, la quarta lingua nazionale svizzera. Già quando arrivi da queste parti ti viene il buon umore: non solo per la bellezza dei luoghi, ma anche perché appena entri in un caffè o in un negozio, la gente ti accoglie con un sorriso e ti dà il benvenuto con un „Allegra!“ che ti mette subito gioia. Dovete sapere che la Val Müstair ha fondato per secoli la sua economia sull'agricoltura e il transito dai suoi passi:il passo del Forno, che collega Tschierv con Zernez, in Engadina, e il Giogo di Santa Maria, o passo dell'Umbrail,che collega Santa Maria in Müstair con Bormio, in Valtellina. Ecco, è proprio in questa bella valle che sono stata un paio di settimane fa,a visitare, tra le altre cose, il convento di San Giovanni, il monastero che dà il nome, appunto, alla Valle. È un posto davvero magico: qui ogni pietra racconta secoli di storia. Si entra dentro la piccola chiesa e subito si ha l'impressione di essere immersi nel Medioevo. Infatti si resta subito colpiti da una serie di affreschi di epoca carolingia [9] e da altri, del 1200, dai colori accesi e incredibilmente vivi. A lato dell'altare c'è una statua in pietra, che raffigura Carlo Magno, la figura centrale nell'origine di questo monastero; una storia che infatti comincia più di 1200 anni fa. Sentite un po'. Dovete sapere che nel lontano 774, dopo la sua incoronazione a re dei Longobardi, di ritorno dall'Italia, re Carlo attraversa la Valtellina e il passo dell'Umbrail, tra Bormio e Santa Maria. Ma qui lui e il suo seguito vengono sorpresi da una terribile bufera di neve... Immaginate il senso di smarrimento [10], il grande pericolo corso... Per fortuna Carlo riesce a salvarsi e, per ringraziare dello scampato pericolo [11] , decide di fondare qui un convento. E questa è la leggenda legata da sempre a questi luoghi. Beh, certo, noi uomini moderni sorridiamo davanti a simili racconti, non ci crediamo... E allora, cari ascoltatori, ecco per voi una sorpresa: grazie alle analisi condotte sui materiali in legno usati per costruire i muri originari della chiesa, oggi abbiamo la data in cui gli alberi furono tagliati: avvenne – pensate un po'? – nell'anno 775, che è esattamente l'anno successivo al passaggio di re Carlo! Quindi… storia e leggenda combaciano [12] alla perfezione! Da allora il convento è stato un punto importante lungo le vie antiche di collegamento tra nord e sud, e ancora oggi è abitato da una comunità di suore benedettine. Ah, dimenticavo: per l'importanza dei suoi affreschi, testimonianza unica nel loro genere, dal 1983 il convento di San Giovanni in Müstair fa parte del Patrimonio Mondiale dell'Unesco. *
