After saying that, he threw down his headphones and walked out of the classroom with heavy steps.
至今 ， 我 仍 記得 這 一 幕 。
To this day, I still remember this scene.
我 能 體會 出 他 的 沮喪 。

Similarly, there was a time when I was talking to a Japanese professor who teaches chemistry at a famous university in England.

就 像 我們 第一次 學 游泳 時 ， 水 看起來 並 不是 那麼 引人 。
It's like when we first learn to swim; the water doesn't seem that inviting.
用 外國 語言 溝通 亦 然 ， 除非 我們 下定決心 去 講 。
The same goes for communicating in a foreign language, unless we are determined to speak.
記得 一 位 最近 到 加拿大 來 的 移民 告訴 我 ，
I remember a recent immigrant who came to Canada telling me,
他 離開 故鄉 後 ， 先 住 在 歐洲 ， 有時 同事 會 邀 他 外出 飲酒 ，

就 給 自己 壓力 要 達到 完美無缺 的 地步 。

About forty years ago, I gave an oral presentation in a classroom at a university in France.

When I wanted to say the four words "responsable" (responsible),
我 把 它 發 成 英語 中 的 「 i 」 音 ， 而 不是 法語 中 的 「 a 」 音 。
