L'AIGLE ET SON RAVISSEUR
A Man once caught an Eagle, and after clipping his wings turned him loose among the fowls in his hen-house, where he moped in a corner, looking very dejected and forlorn.
ذات مرة، اصطاد رجل نسرًا، وبعد أن قص جناحيه أطلقه بين الطيور في قن الدجاج الخاص به، حيث كان جالسًا في الزاوية، ويبدو عليه الحزن واليأس.
Un jour, un homme a attrapé un aigle et, après lui avoir coupé les ailes, il l'a relâché parmi les volailles de son poulailler, où il s'est morfondu dans un coin, l'air très abattu et triste.
After a while his Captor was glad enough to sell him to a neighbour, who took him home and let his wings grow again.
وبعد فترة من الوقت، كان آسره سعيدًا بما يكفي لبيعه إلى أحد الجيران، الذي أخذه إلى منزله وترك جناحيه تنمو مرة أخرى.
Au bout d'un certain temps, son ravisseur fut assez heureux pour le vendre à un voisin, qui le ramena chez lui et lui fit repousser ses ailes.
As soon as he had recovered the use of them, the Eagle flew out and caught a hare, which he brought home and presented to his benefactor.
وبمجرد أن استعاد القدرة على استخدامها، طار النسر وأمسك أرنبًا، ثم أحضره إلى المنزل وقدمه إلى ولي أمره.
A fox observed this, and said to the Eagle, "Don't waste your gifts on him!
لقد لاحظ الثعلب هذا، وقال للنسر: "لا تضيع هداياك عليه!
Un renard l'observa et dit à l'aigle : "Ne gaspille pas tes dons pour lui !
Go and give them to the man who first caught you; make _him_ your friend, and then perhaps he won't catch you and clip your wings a second time."
"اذهب وأعطها للرجل الذي أمسك بك أولاً؛ اجعله صديقًا لك، وربما لن يمسك بك ويقص جناحيك للمرة الثانية."
Va les donner à l'homme qui t'a attrapé le premier ; fais de lui ton ami, et alors peut-être ne t'attrapera-t-il pas pour te couper les ailes une seconde fois".
