Wk6-02 Key Activities and Key Partnerships Presentation
Welcome to module six. Congrats, you're doing great. You're in the home stretch and you only have three more modules to go. So far we've completed building blocks one through six. Now we turn to building blocks number seven and number eight. Key activities and key partnerships. At the basic level, the key activities are the most important actions that a company takes to operate. These are the key activities needed to create and deliver the value propositions as well as the develop and maintain the desired customer relationships. The most common types of key activities are operations in production, marketing and sales and of course finance and administration. Key partnerships have become a cornerstone of many business models. These are the partners you need to help optimize your business model, reduce risk, and access key resources. Entrepreneurs often need the knowledge and expertise offered by strategic partners in order to create and deliver the value propositions. Launching a new business, or a new product, or a new service is often a team sport not an individual sport. The main categories of key partnerships are strategic alliances between non-competitors, partnerships between competitors, joint ventures, and buyer-supplier alliances. As an example, for my business model canvas project the key activities are designing and building the online planning content. Let me say that again, designing and building the online career planning content. And, developing, implementing, and managing the sales campaigns, using primarily database marketing. As with most new ventures we will need key partners to help us in several areas. We'll need a mobile learning partner, who knows how to build a technology platform that effectively delivers high quality educational content in a fun and engaging way using best practices and gamification and game thinking. We will partner with sales and marketing firms that will help us launch innovative campaigns that effectively deliver their communication messages that will hopefully encourage parents to visit the career readiness website. And we will need to recruit numerous certified career planning coaches who can deliver online excellent coaching services to those young people who took the time to complete all 15 hours of the online training. Once they complete the program, they will receive a digital badge that they can use to access their one on one career coach. Now it's your turn again. Here's your module six assignments. As always, participate in the discussion by answering the question, what is the most important thing I learned while watching the animated video titled, Telling Your Story? And as no surprise, there are two application assignments. With your idea in mind, identify and describe your key activities and your key partnerships. Then just like I did, add your decisions to your business model canvas. If you've gotten this far in the course, you are indeed a highly motivated entrepreneur or intrapreneur or innovator or maybe you're all three. Okay, get to work on your assignments and we'll get together again at the beginning of module seven.
