LA LIONNE ET LA RENARDE
A Lioness and a Vixen were talking together about their young, as mothers will, and saying how healthy and well-grown they were, and what beautiful coats they had, and how they were the image of their parents.
Une lionne et une renarde parlaient ensemble de leurs petits, comme le font les mères, et disaient combien ils étaient en bonne santé et bien grandis, et quel beau pelage ils avaient, et combien ils étaient à l'image de leurs parents.
"My litter of cubs is a joy to see," said the Fox; and then she added, rather maliciously, "But I notice you never have more than one."
"Ma portée de petits fait plaisir à voir", dit la renarde, avant d'ajouter, un peu malicieusement : "Mais je remarque que vous n'en avez jamais plus d'un".
"No," said the Lioness grimly, "but that one's a lion."
"Non, dit la Lionne d'un air sombre, mais celui-là est un lion.
Quality, not quantity.
