10 BUONE RAGIONI PER VIVERE A PARIGI A ROMA

Sono sull'aereo di ritorno da Parigi, e, come al solito, mi concedo una rapida sbirciata fuori dall'oblò.

Non so perchè, ma essere a 10.000 metri d'altezza, sopra il tetto delle nuvole, mi fa sempre pensare in maniera più chiara, mi dà una prospettiva diversa sulle cose rispetto a quando sono con i piedi per terra e sulla terra. E mi rende nostalgico. Stavolta però mi sento ancora più nostalgico del solito. Stavolta so che non vedrò Parigi per un lungo periodo, ed è un po' come lasciare la propria fidanzata o una persona cara davanti all'aerea delle partenze all'aeroporto, con quella strana sensazione di incertezza nel petto, quando non sai cosa succederà e quando la rivedrai. Già, Parigi. La città in cui ho vissuto per 3 lunghi anni e in cui ho lasciato tantissimi ricordi. In realtà sono tornato a vivere a Roma già da 3 mesi, e sono già ritornato 2 volte (questa e una volta a gennaio), ma stavolta sento che è diverso. Sono state 2 settimane meravigliose, ho rivisto tutti i miei amici, ho vissuto in 3 appartamenti diversi, e mi sono goduto ogni singolo momento di questo breve ma intenso soggiorno Eppure in ogni singolo istante sapevo che questa volta non era per rimanerci, e che sarei ripartito molto presto. Quando ci vivevo non avevo questa sensazione, davo per scontato di vivere in questa città, ma questa volta ho sentito che tutto mi sarebbe mancato, dalle grandi alle piccole cose.Ripenso alla prima volta in cui sono arrivato a Parigi nel novembre del 2010: c'era un'enorme quantità di neve, e ricordo con nitidezza di aver guardato fuori dalla finestra della camera della mia ex ragazza, con i fiocchi di neve che scendevano leggeri sui tipici tetti parigini, in un silenzio quasi irreale. Ricordo tutte le passeggiate fatte sul lungo fiume della Senna, con le barche gonfie di turisti che passano sotto i ponti. Penso al Louvre, a quante volte ci sono stato, a quante conversazioni distratte in mezzo a quadri, statue e soffitti ho avuto con tanti amici. Penso ai caffé, al canal St.Martin lungo il quale facevo lunghe corse. All' odore inconfondible dell'aria parigina, al cielo talvolta uggioso ma affascinante di Parigi che si staglia sopra i tetti delle case. Alla metro, ai suoi cantanti improvvisati nei vagoni e negli angoli fra una stazione e l'altra. Alle facce contrariate, stanche di chi monta sui vagoni la mattina o torna dal lavoro, a quelle felicemente alcoliche di chi sale sulla metro poco prima che termini il servizio di notte, ridendo ad alta voce con gli amici Ripenso alle vie di Montmartre, al Sacre Coeur, ai pittori nella piazzetta che ritraggono i passanti e che ti chiedono se vuoi anche tu un ritratto. Ricordo tante cose, e le ricordo con un velo di nostalgia, come se questa volta fosse l'ultima, come se Parigi fosse all'altro capo del mondo. In fondo si trova a 2 ore d'aereo da Roma, e ci tornerò, ma quest'anno avrò così tante cose da fare che non so quando accadrà. La città la fanno anche le persone. E tante persone che adesso sono a Parigi saranno partite quando ci ritornerò. È forse questa, la cosa che mi rende più triste. Ma nella vita si deve andare avanti, e se c'è una certezza, è proprio questa: tutto cambia. Altre avventure mi aspettano, altre città, altri volti LA CITTÀ PIÙ BELLA DEL MONDO?

Quando ti chiedono “qual'è la città più bella del mondo?” è un po' come chiedere qual'è la lingua più bella del mondo, o la donna o l'uomo più belli del mondo.

La bellezza di una città, così come quella di una persona, è del tutto soggettiva. Per una città, dipende da tante cose: dalle tue esperienze, da come hai vissuto, da cosa hai fatto, e dagli amici che hai avuto e dalle persone e i posti che hai visitato Per me Parigi ha un valore particolare perchè è la città in cui ho vissuto, che ho “respirato” di più dopo Roma. Fare un confronto con Roma è difficile, perchè Roma è la città in cui sono nato, ma lasciatemi parlare di queste due meravigliose città in 10, semplici punti L'ambiente Per me uno dei motivi maggiori di vivere in una grande città è il contatto con le persone e le possibilità e gli stimoli che mi consentono di crescere come essere umano.

Mi piace pensare che tutti noi siamo la somma di esperienze vissute, e le persone sono una parte integrante di queste esperienze. Parigi in questo senso mi appassiona molto di più di Roma. L'ambiente è elettrico, vibrante, e soprattutto, internazionale: si possono incontrare ogni giorno decine di persone di tantissime nazionalità diverse che sono venute nella capitale francese per vivere, non solo per soggiornare per un breve tempo. In ogni angolo di Parigi e praticamente ogni giorno si organizzano eventi internazionali di ogni genere. Non riesco più a contare il numero di persone di ogni nazionalità che ho incontrato a Parigi. Anche Roma è una città internazionale, ma l'ambiente è più provinciale, e con molti meno stranieri che vengono per viverci. Ci sono ovviamente serate internazionali, ma l'ambiente è diverso, è meno stimolante, o per lo meno questa è stata l'impressione che ho avuto ogni volta che ho partecipato a qualche evento Vita notturna La vita parigina è molto varia, ce n'è per tutti i gusti.

Dipende da come si vuole passare la serata. Se l'obiettivo è una chiacchiera fra amici si può andare in qualche bar a MontMartre, nel quartiere latino e se si vuole risparmiare qualche centesimo in più nel 18esimo arrondissement. L'ambiente varia molto, a Montmarte c'è un ambiente un po' più sofisticato, tipicamente parigini, nel 18esimo invece è più popolare, ma altrettanto suggestivo e vario. Ogni quartiere ha una personalità diversa, e una varietà umana diversa, e questo si riflette nel modo in cui le persone consumano cibo, bevande, da come si siedono, e anche da come parlano. A livello più generale Parigi è sostanzialmente divisa in due: la rive guache e la rive droite. La Senna infatti taglia letteralmente in 2 Parigi: a Sud della senna (o a “sinistra”, da cui proviene il nome “rive gauche” si è sviluppata una città molto ricca. Il 16esimo e 17 arrondissement sono famosi per essere quartieri abitati da persone molto ricca, sono quartieri residenziali in cui le strade si svuotano di notte. La parte a Nord della città invece è molto più popolare ma vibrante, piena di luci, colori, rumori, persone di ogni genere, e i bar sono sempre pieni un po' dappertutto A Roma la vita nottura è diversa, perchè è diversa la conformazione della città, la mentalità delle persone e il modo in cui si “vive” la notte. E poi sono nato qui. Quindi non ho la stessa curiosità di esplorare la città che ho invece quando esco da casa a Parigi. A Roma dipende molto da dove abiti. Io abito a Monteverde Vecchio, che è 2 passi da Trastevere, un quartiere pittoresco e popolare, pieno di vita e di turisti. Da lì, posso raggiungere facilmente il centro attraverso le vie che si snodano fino al fiume. Ci vado a piedi, non ho neanche bisogno della macchina, quindi è un percorso che faccio molto spesso il fine settimana. Ciò che amo di Roma e che non c'è quasi per niente a Parigi (se non l'estate ed in certi posti) è la vita notturna di piazza. Amo in particolare Santa Maria in Trastevere. Basta sedersi con gli amici, bere una birra e i gradini cominciano a riempirsi di stranieri, italiani con le chitarre Ho passato notti indimenticabili su quella piazza. Ma Roma non è solo Trastevere, è tante altre cose. Attraversare la città di notte, raggiungere piazza Navona o passare per via dei Coronari, scorgere il Vaticano da uno dei ponti sopra il Tevere è uno spettacolo incredibile. Servizi di trasporto La differenza enorme fra Roma e Parigi sono i servizi pubblici: mi piace sempre dire che a Roma sai più o meno quando parti, ma non sai mai con precisione quando arrivi.

Molte linee degli autobus sono prive di orari, e gli autobus sono sempre o quasi sempre in ritardo, i controllori scontrosi e poco professionali. Lo stesso vale per la metro. A Roma ci sono solo 2 linee della metro, quindi spesso l'autobus è l'unica soluzione per spostarsi e almeno raggiungere il centro. Non molto diverso è il servizio dei treni. Penso che l'Italia sia uno dei pochi paesi in cui il ritardo è “istituzionalizzato”, cioè c'è un cartello in cui vengono mostrati i minuti di ritardo Dopo essere tornato da Parigi, sono diventato impaziente, considerando il divario enorme fra prezzo e qualità del trasporto A Parigi invece si sa quando si parte e si sa quando si arriva, perchè la rete della metro si estende praticamente su tutta la città. Ogni tanto c'è qualche disservizio, ma per la quantità di persone che vengono servite ogni giorno, costituiscono un dettaglio. La cosa che non mi piace troppo è che in alcune linee – soprattutto la 4 e la 2 – sono spesso strapiene di gente, soprattutto all'ora di punta. Stare in un vagone in cui si riesce appena a respirare e che magari si ferma per un guasto al sistema elettrico è un'esperienza da dimenticare, ma è successa per fortuna solo raramente. E anche gli autobus funzionano bene, e ogni fermata mostra sempre e comunque gli orari, anche quelli notturni Negozi, supermercati, e ristoranti C'è un mito che va sfatato: che la gente nei bar, negozi e ristoranti a Parigi sia sempre scostante e antipatica.

Non mi è MAI capitato in 3 anni di incontrare una persona anticapitca, l'unica volta in cui è successa una cosa sgradevole è stata con un cameriere, ma era italiano. Il motivo? Ce ne sono vari, credo. Come dico sempre, tutto dipende da come ci si pone. Quando entro in un negozio, in una farmacia, ho sempre un sorriso o una domanda di curiosità, o una battuta nei confronti di chiunque, e bastano dei piccoli dettagli per avere le conversazioni più interessanti e gradevoli anche con persone appena conosciute, e con le quali si ha a che vedere per motivi “commerciali” Sapersi porre è una norma generale, ma ovviamente è molto importante conoscere un minimo il “codice” con cui parlare con le persone. Per i francesi entrare in un posto pubblico e non dire neanche “Bonjour” è spesso molto irritante, e di conseguenza, rispondono con altrettanta irritazione. Da qui scaturisce una serie di malintesi fra il parigino ed il turista, che parli francese o no. Molto spesso sento dire che gli Italiani sono un popolo “caloroso” e sempre contento e aperto, ma provate a chiedere qualche informazione ad un conducente dell'autobus che è appena arrivato al capolinea, o ad entrare in qualche negozio del centro per chiedere un caffé, e a volte potreste ricevere qualche risposta a mezza bocca, o addirittura un sorriso di scherno. Da quello che ho appena scritto, potreste pensare che Parigi è una città di gente educata e Roma di zoticoni, il che sarebbe una banalizzazione enorme e pericolosa. A Parigi ci sono persone maleducate come a Roma, così come ci sono persone gentile e calorose. Il punto è che bisogna scavare per andare oltre gli stereotipi. Un Parigini non mai arrogante per il semplice fatto di essere parigino, così come un romano non è sempre gioviale ed aperto per il fatto di essere romano, e, ancora una volta, spesso ciò che conta moltissimo è il modo in cui ci approcciamo agli altri, se parliamo la loro lingua o meno, se conosciamo e sappiamo interpretare codici e comportarmenti altrui. Abitare a Parigi: case, ristoranti, e costo della vita in generale La nota dolente di Parigi è senza dubbio il prezzo della vita: trasporti, case, ristoranti Costa praticamente tutto moltissimo.

Il fatto che un'enorme quantità di persone voglia abitare a Parigi ha senza dubbio contribuito all'aumento dei prezzi, considerando che la dimensione di molte case è piuttosto piccola. A volte – e vale per la maggior parte degli studenti fuori sede – si tratta di uno studio di 10,15 o 20 metri quadrati se si è fortunati. Lo spazio è sempre molto ristretto, e il prezzo mensile che si paga è spesso 2 volte superiore ad altre città europee. I ristoranti sono molto cari: una pizza a Parigi può costare 17 euro, a Roma per la stessa pizza se ne pagano 8 o 9. E questo vale per tutto il resto. A parte alloggio e ristoranti, i prezzi dei supermercati e dei trasporti sono comparabili con Roma Lavoro Personalmente vivere a Parigi o a Roma in quanto a lavoro non fa molta differenza, perchè lavoro on-line.

Ma i miei amici che lavorano a Parigi hanno uno stipendio impensabile rispetto a quello di Roma, e questo vale per una gran quantità di lavori. Non è un'esagerazione dire che cercare lavoro stabile a Roma è diventato difficilissimo, e anche qualora lo si trovi, lo stipendio è piuttosto scarso considerando il costo della vita notevole di Roma
