Il professor Russo (una breve storia per imparare il congiuntivo)

Ciao a tutti, ragazzi e ragazze, come va? Spero che stiate abbastanza bene. Spero che stiate non, che “state” abbastanza bene. Perché dico questo? Perché l'episodio di oggi è incentrato sul congiuntivo, quindi parleremo di congiuntivo. È un episodio in cui sentirete tantissime volte il congiuntivo.

In questa storia mi concentro su tre casi specifici in cui si utilizza il congiuntivo. Quindi non su tutti, perché ce ne sono davvero tanti, ma su tre.

1) il congiuntivo dopo i verbi di volontà, aspettativa, dubbio, sentimento e controllo. Vediamo qualche esempio per ognuno di questi casi o per i principali di questi casi. Volontà potrebbe essere per esempio: “voglio che Marco mi dica la verità” (e non “mi dice”) Speranza: “Veronica spera che l'esame sia andato bene” (e non “è andato bene”) Dubbio: “Dubito che sia così semplice” (e non “che è”) 2) il congiuntivo dopo espressioni impersonali, quindi “è normale che il congiuntivo sia difficile” (e non “è” difficile), “è probabile che domani piova” (e non “piove”), “è meglio che tu dica la verità” (e non “dici”).

Ci sono tanti altri casi in cui si usa il congiuntivo, ma oggi ci concentriamo su questi. La storia che ho scritto è al presente, principalmente, quindi sentirete soprattutto i tempi congiuntivo presente e passato. C'è anche qualche congiuntivo imperfetto, ma pochi. Quindi vi consiglio di andare a dare un'occhiata al congiuntivo presente e passato, se non li sapete. Infine voglio dirvi ancora questo: se non sapete il congiuntivo e se il vostro livello è, diciamo, pre-intermedio, non ancora intermedio, non preoccupatevi, non è secondo me il momento di imparare il congiuntivo. Ascoltate l'episodio, notate queste forme particolari al congiuntivo, ma non preoccupatevi di imparare alla perfezione questo tempo. Secondo me il congiuntivo va imparato bene quando si ha già un buon livello nella lingua, perché altrimenti è troppo difficile. Rischia di diventare solo una frustrazione, il che non sarebbe buono.

Altri congiuntivi (A) Il professor Russo

Al liceo d'Azeglio, in una cittadina del nord Italia, insegna un professore di scienze molto amato dai suoi studenti. Si chiama Michele Russo, ma è conosciuto dai suoi studenti come Prof. Russo. Prof Russo è una vera e propria istituzione al liceo d'Azeglio. Ha 64 anni e insegna al liceo da quando ne aveva 27. Per molti è strano pensare che una persona possa (2) lavorare per ben 37 anni nella stessa scuola. Può darsi che sia (2) strano anche per Russo. Per il prof il liceo d'Azeglio è come una casa: lui stesso ci ha studiato da giovane, poi dopo gli studi è diventato professore e nel corso degli anni ha visto passare tante generazioni di studenti. Pare addirittura che alcuni insegnanti, ora colleghi di Russo, siano stati (2) in passato loro stessi suoi allievi. Russo, come detto, è una leggenda del d'Azeglio. I suoi studenti e i suoi colleghi lo amano. Nessuno vuole che smetta (1) di insegnare e tutti sperano che quest'anno non sia (1) il suo ultimo. Benché nessuno voglia (A) che il prof lasci (1) il liceo, ciò è inevitabile che accada (2) prima o poi. Russo infatti ha quasi raggiunto gli anni di contributi necessari per andare in pensione.

Ma lui non è così attratto dall'idea di stare a casa tutto il giorno. Non pensa che la pensione possa (3) sostituire il lavoro, che lui ha sempre amato Non crede che avere più tempo libero sia (3) necessariamente qualcosa di buono. Se fosse per lui, andrebbe (A – periodo ipotetico) avanti ancora dieci anni. E a dire la verità non gli sembra nemmeno che siano (2) già passati 37 anni.

Per lui insegnare è una passione vera e propria. Per questo gli sembra strano che alcuni professori dopo 10 o 15 anni siano (2) già stanchi di insegnare, perché lui dopo 37 anni ha lo stesso entusiasmo del primo giorno. I suoi colleghi invece pensano che sia (3) difficile insegnare per così tanto tempo senza perdere l'entusiasmo e non capiscono come faccia (altro), quale sia (altro) il suo segreto. D'altronde è normale che dopo tanti anni di insegnamento si perda (2) un po' l'entusiasmo iniziale. Fare l'insegnante in una scuola pubblica è un lavoro difficile, che comporta molto impegno e dedizione (è triste, infatti, che sia [2] un lavoro così mal retribuito, almeno in Italia). Se partecipaste a una delle sue lezioni vi rendereste conto (A – periodo ipotetico) che la passione di Russo è contagiosa. È sorprendente che una persona che ha spiegato la composizione delle rocce, la biologia del corpo umano, la struttura del DNA migliaia di volte provi (2) così tanta gioia nel ripetere tali concetti per la milleunesima volta e soprattutto riesca (2) a trasmettere tale entusiasmo agli studenti. Ed è bello, dopotutto, che ci siano (2) anche degli insegnanti come lui, che qualcuno riesca (2) a conservare la passione per il proprio lavoro anche dopo così tanti anni e non cada nella noia e nella frustrazione che purtroppo contraddistingue tanti insegnanti. La scuola sarebbe un posto migliore se tutti fossero (A – periodo ipotetico) come lui.

Russo è un vero e proprio showman: non vuole che le sue lezioni siano (1) serie e noiose, ma preferisce che i suoi studenti si divertano (1) e si intrattengano (1). Non crede che una lezione debba (3) essere un monologo e non vuole che lo sia (1); per questo cerca sempre di coinvolgere i suoi studenti. Non pretende che i suoi studenti lo trattino (1) come se fosse (altro) un'autorità da ascoltare in religioso silenzio (cosa che altri insegnanti invece fanno), ma al contrario, vuole e preferisce che i suoi studenti lo interrompano (1) se hanno delle domande (anzi, è felice che gliene facciano [2]). La cosa più strana però è questa: non esige che gli diano (1) del Lei (com'è normale in un Liceo), ma preferisce che i suoi studenti gli diano (1) del tu. Questo lo rende un professore unico al d'Azeglio e, a dire il vero diverso, dalla maggior parte degli insegnanti. In generale è comprensibile che un insegnante non voglia (2) dare troppa confidenza ai propri studenti. Alcuni insegnanti storcono il naso, infatti, al pensiero che un proprio studente possa dar loro del tu. Ritengono che sia (1) inammissibile e vogliono che lo studente non si prenda troppe confidenze. Russo però non ama le formalità e nonostante abbia (A) un'età molto maggiore di quella dei suoi studenti, vuole che questi lo trattino (1) come un amico. Certo, Russo non permette che gli studenti gli manchino (1) di rispetto, ma ciò di solito non succede mai.

Russo ama fare cabaret: quando arriva a lezione non parte immediatamente a spiegare l'argomento del giorno, ma si intrattiene con i suoi studenti per qualche minuto. Secondo lui questo fa sì che gli studenti si rilassino (A) un po' prima della lezione. Spesso ama iniziare le sue lezioni con una barzelletta. Ad essere sinceri, spesso le sue barzellette e le sue battute sono un po' ripetitive e lui stesso sospetta che i suoi studenti non ridano (1) tanto perché pensano che la barzelletta sia (1) divertente, quanto perché trovano divertente che lui ripeta (altro) sempre le stesse battute, senza ricordarsi di averle già dette tantissime volte. Da questo racconto potrebbe sembrare (1) che Russo sia (2) un po' sciocco, ma così non è. È un insegnante molto preparato, che conosce la composizione delle rocce meglio di qualsiasi altra persona. La sua conoscenza va ben oltre la scienza: è un esperto di cinema, di storia, di lingue, di letteratura, di latino. È sorprendente che sappia (2) così tante cose! A volte, per divertimento, chiede ai suoi studenti quale sia stato(A) l'argomento della lezione precedente. Quando gli rispondono, per esempio, “Petrarca”, “le equazioni di secondo grado”, “Socrate”, lui dimostra di conoscere bene quegli argomenti, come se li avesse (altro) ripassati il giorno prima.

Qual è il segreto di Russo? Com'è possibile che tanti insegnanti non riescano (2) nemmeno a mantenere alta l'attenzione dei propri studenti e a volte facciano (2) fatica persino a essere rispettati, finendo per urlare ai propri studenti di fare silenzio? Non lo sa nemmeno lui, ma suppone che abbia (3) a che fare con il fatto che lui tratta gli studenti da adulti e sa come stimolare la loro curiosità. Non si limita a insegnare la lezione del giorno, ma cerca di far riflettere i propri studenti, facendo tantissime domande. Russo ha sempre pensato che molti studenti siano (1) demotivati e non abbiano (1) voglia di studiare perché i loro insegnanti non sono in grado di rendere interessante la materia che insegnano. È normale che la filosofia di Socrate possa (2) sembrare molto lontana ad un ragazzino di quindici anni, ma lui crede che ci sia (2) un modo per rendere interessante qualsiasi cosa, anche l'argomento più noioso. Quando aveva iniziato non si immaginava che potesse (2) diventare un giorno l'insegnante più longevo dell'istituto. Ora il giorno in cui smetterà di lavorare si avvicina. Russo è una persona emotiva ed è molto probabile che si metta (2) a piangere quando dovrà salutare i suoi colleghi e i suoi studenti. Gli è già successo in passato quando ha salutato studenti dell'ultimo anno che avevano finito i 5 anni di liceo. Se fosse (A – periodo ipotetico) per lui, insegnerebbe per sempre.
