たぶん 、そこ に 集まって いた お客さん 達 は みんな 常連さん で 、平日 の 昼間 でした から ね 、3時 くらい 。

みんな その キャスク の ビール 目当て に 来て たっぽい のに 、私 たち 夫婦 偶然に 来ちゃった みたいな 、そして とりあえず 樽 を 開ける カウント ダウン とか に 参加 して 、3 、2 、1 、イェーイ ！ と か 一緒に 言っちゃったり して 、よく わから ない まま 。 その 時 は まだ 状況 分かって なくて 、え 、なに なに ？ これ 何 ？ って なり ながら 、とりあえず 混ざってる 自分達 が ちょっと 面白かった です 。

もちろん 、その キャスクビール を 飲み 、通常 版 と の 飲み比べ とかも 楽しみ ながら 、

まったり 飲んで いた んです が 、

そ したら 隣 に 座って た 常連 らしき オジサン が 話しかけて きて 、

地元 の 人 か ー い ？ どこ から 来た の ー ？ って 感じ で 。

その オジサン が なかなか 面白い 人 で 、色々 話して たらす ごく 偶然な 事実 を 知った んです けど 、

さっき 、私 West Coast IPA が 好き って 話した と 思います が 、色々な ブリューリー から West Coast IPA 出てます が 、 San Diego の Green Flash って いう ブリューリー の West Coast IPA が 私 好き で 、 West Coast IPA って いう と Green Flash を 思い浮かべる し 、 Green Flash って 聞く と 、 West Coast IPA って いう ほど 強い イメージ が あります 。 それ も その はず 、 Green Flash は 、 West Coast IPA の トレードマーク を 持って る んですって 。 トレードマーク って 商標 です ね 。 商標 登録 の 商標 。

そんな 、私 が 好きな West Coast IPA を 出している Green Flash と いう ビール 屋さん なんです が 、

この 日 、偶然 立ち寄った 、樽 の 開栓式 に 偶然 立ち会った 、その ビール屋 の オーナー 、チャック さん って いう んです が 、元々 Green Flash の 人 だった んですって 。 しかも ビール の 作り手 として クラフト ビール 界隈 で は 有名 らしくて 、

なんと 、その Green Flash の West Coast IPA 、その チャック さん が 作った んですって 。 ウッヒョー じゃ ない ？

すごい 偶然 でしょ ？

面白い なぁ と 思いました 。 その 隣 に 座って た オジサン から は Green Flash で 元 ビール 作って た 人 だって こと を 聞いた だけ で 、

WestCoastIPAの 生みの親 だって こと まで は 聞か なかった んです けど 、帰ってきて から 調べて 知りました 。 そう 、知って たら ね 、チャック さん の ところ の West Coast IPA を 買って 帰って きた のに ー と思いました 。 だって 、絶対 美味しい と 思う もん 。

ま 、また 行けば いい です ね 。

そう 、その 話して た オジサン に 、その 日 そこ まで 来た 経緯 も 話して 、

「 いや ー 、 つい 先日 別 の ビール 屋 に 大切な ノート 忘れて しまって 、 それ を 今日 は 取り に 来た ん です 。

せっかく 来た から 、ビール 飲んで 帰ろうって 、偶然 この ビール屋 に 来たんです よ 。」 って 説明 したら 、

その オジサン が 、

「じゃあ 、今日 は この 店 に 、その ノート 置いてっちゃ え よ 。 そ したら また その ノート を 理由 に 来れる だろ 、で 、取り に きた ついでに 更に また 別の 店 に 行って 、

そこ で また ノート 置いてっちゃ えば いんだ よ 。」 と か いう 名案 を 言って きて 、めっちゃ ウケました 。 でも 、内心 、ちょっと それ あり だ な 。 みたいな 。

一 冊 の ノート が 繋ぐ 、ビール 屋 廻り の 旅 。 みたいな 。

ちょっと 面白く ない です か ？

ともかく 、また 次回 そこ の ブリューリー に 行く 理由 が できた という こと で ね 。 ノート は 忘れて きません でした が 、飲みたい ビール が ある という 、ノート より も ちゃんとした 理由 が あります ので 、また 近い うちに 行きたい と 思います 。 ちなみに ブリューリー の 名前 言って いなかった 、 Sliva Brewing 、カリフォルニア の Paso Lobles と いう 町 に ある 、 Sliva Brewing です 。

近く に 行く 機会 が ある 方 、ぜひ 行って みて ください 。

★夏 の 予定

はい 、我が家 の 夏 休み が 始まって もう 2 週間 程 経って しまった のです が 、

この 夏 の 予定 とか 、どんな こと しよう かな ー とか 考えている こと など について お話したい と 思います 。 夏 休み 、我が家 で は 夫 の 仕事 の 休み が 夏 休み な のです が 、学校 の 先生 な ので 約 2 ヶ月 と 長い 夏 休み です 。

今年 は 日本 に も 帰ら ない し 、特に 大きな 長い 旅行 、遠く に 行く 旅行 も 計画 して いない ので 、ババーン ！ と 皆さん に 発表 する ような 予定 は ない のです が 、

旅行 という カテゴリ で は 、

既に 、夏 休み に 入って すぐに 温泉 キャンプ に 行って きました 。 2 泊 3 日 の 短い キャンプ です が 、とても 楽しめました 。 あと は 7月 の 上旬 に カリフォルニア の 北側 、オレゴン の ほんと 手前 くらい まで 行った ところ に ある 山 に 山登り に 行く 予定 が あります 。 これ も 2 泊 3 日 と 短い のです が 、キャンプ で は なく ホテル に 泊まります 。 長い ハイキング 、と いう か 山登り も 久しぶりです し 、カリフォルニア の 南側 LA や サンディエゴ に 比べて 北側 は 行く 機会 が 少ない ので 、楽しみです ね 。

行き帰り の ロードトリップ 中 に も カフェ に 寄ったり できる かな ー 。

ワクワク して います 。 決まって いる 旅行 は これ だけ なんです よね 。

あと 1 、2 回 、近場 で いい から キャンプ に 行けたら いい なぁ と 思って います 。 でも 今年 の 夏 みんな 去年 我慢 して いた 分 、だいぶ アクティブ で 、

ま ぁ 毎年 そう で は ある んです けど 、人気 の キャンプ場 は ことごとく 予約 が 埋まって しまって います 。 だ から FCFS 、予約 無し で 行ける ところ を 探して いく って こと に なります か ね 。 あと は そんなに 知られて いない 人気 が なさそうな 所 でも ね 、気に入る 所 が あったり する ので 、そういう 場所 を 見つける 良い 機会 でも あります ね 。 日帰り で 帰って こ れる 距離 でも どこ か 行きたい なー と も 思って います 。 キャンプ 以外 に ね 。

また 、 ここ 行って きた よ ー 、 楽しかった よ ー と いう ような 話 が あれば シェア させて ください 。

そして 、我が家 全体 で は 夏 休み ムード な のです が 、

私 は この 夏 の 間 も カレッジ の クラス を 1 つ だけ です が 取ります 。 取ります 、と いう か 、ちょうど 少し 前 に スタート しました 。 私 の カレッジ で は 、1 月 スタート の 春 学期 、8 月 スタート の 秋 学期 の 2 つ の 学期 が 主な 学期 として あって 、

プラス で 夏 も 期間 は 短くて 提供 されている クラス 数 も 少ない のです が 、夏学期 という もの も あります 。 期間 は 短い のです が 、春秋 と 同じ 単位 の 同じ クラス が 取れる ので 、

夏 も 頑張って 単位 取得 を 進めよう ！ と いう 人 に は いい です ね 。

ただ 、通常 学期 で やる の と 同じ 授業 内容 で 課題 が ギュッと 短 期間 に 凝縮 さ れる ので 、とても 忙しくて 大変 って 聞きます 。 私 が この 夏 取って いる の は パブリックスピーキング の クラス な んです が 、

私 の 受ける クラス は その 短い 夏学期 の 中 でも 、更に 短い スケジュール で 設定されている クラス で 、夏学期 の 他 の クラス より も スタート が 遅かった んです 。 これ って 、更に 短い スケジュール で 授業 が 進んで いく ので 、ちょっと 大変 かな 、大丈夫 かな 、と 心配に なって います が 、その分 、6月 上旬 は ゆっくり できて 休息 が 取れた ので 良かった です 。 授業 が どんな 感 じ かに ついて は 、また 夏 の 間 に お 話させて ください 。

毎日 の ように クイズ が あったり 課題 の 提出 が あったり 、リーディング が たくさん あったり で スケジュール を 見ている と ちょっと ホント 心配です 。

オンライン 授業 で は あります が 、スピーキング の 課題 も 出る みたいで ドキドキ して います 。 頑張ります 。 あと は です ね 、私 は タップダンス を やっている のです が 、

ずっと コロナ で ダンス スタジオ とかも クローズ して いた のが 、再開 して 、in-person スタジオ での レッスン が また 始まりました 。 他の ジャンル の ダンス クラス とかも そうです が 、 Zoom とか オンライン での レッスン が この 1年 ずっと 行われていたり していました が 、特に タップダンス は 音を 出して 、周りの 音 、先生の 音 、っていうのを 聴いたり 感じたり して 、それが 楽しい なぁ って 思う ので 、スタジオ が 再開して 嬉しい です 。 他の ダンス も 同じ か 、画面 に 向かって で は なくて 、広い スタジオ で 鏡 を 見て 思いっきり 踊りたい です よね 。 ダンス だけ で は なくて 、他の 趣味 や 習い事 など も そう です よね 。

そう 、な ので この 夏 は タップ を たくさん やりたい なー と 思います 。 サンフランシスコ と か 、ベイ エリア の タップクラス とかも 時間 を 見つけて 受けたい なぁ 。 と 思ってます ね 。 それ から やりたい こと と しては 、毎年 の ように 言って いる のです が 、やりたい こと リスト 100 を なかなか 手 を つけられない もの が たくさん ある ので 、いくつか 進めたい なぁ と 思っています 。 私 、毎年 、100 個 の やりたい こと を リスト に して 、それ を 1 年 かけて やる という プロジェクト を 勝手に 自分 で やっている んです けど 、特に 家 の 中 の プロジェクト で 、デコレーション 系 とか 改造 系 とか は 学校 が 本格的に 始まっちゃう と なかなか 時間 が 取れない ので 、 比較的 余裕 の ある 夏 に ね 、できる と いい んです けど 、

な んな んです か ね 。

たぶん 私 が 根っから の 怠け者 だ から だ と 思う んです けど 、

あー 、やりたい なー 、これ やりたい 、あれ やりたいって リスト アップ して いる はずな のに 、なかなか 行動 に 移せ ないって いう 、本当に どうしようもない 私 です が 、 夏 の 間 に 何かしら やりたい と 思います 。 なんてったって 追加 で 40 個 また 来ちゃう から ね 。 そう な んです 、前半 の 60 個 は 今年 の 年明け に もう 作って あって 、ちょうど 半年 たった この 7 月 頭 に 追加 で 残り の 40 個 を 足して 合計 100 個 の リスト に なる んですけど 、

リスト に チェックマーク を 入れる と やっぱり 達成感 が あって 嬉しい ので 、ちょっと 頑張ります 。 あと は 最近 家 の 近く の ダウンタウン が 綺麗に なった んです よ 。

道路 も 綺麗に なった し 、新しい お 店 とかも できてるっぽい し 。 だ から もっと 頻繁に ダウン タウン に 行こう かなって 考えて います 。 って 言って も 、2 ブロック くらい の 短い エリア で 、これ と 言った お店 も 無い んです が 、

ま ぁ カフェ に 行ったり 、ビール 飲み に 行ったり 、古本屋さん も あったり する し 、家 から 徒歩 で 行ける ので 、散歩 が てら 、ちょこちょこ 行こう かな って 思います 。 あ 、ダウン タウン で 思い出した 、

そう そう 、毎年 、その ダウンタウン で Food & Wine festival が 8月 の 初め に あって 、 私 それ が 大好き な んです けど 、

去年 は コロナ で キャンセル に なって しまって とても 悲しくて 、

でも 、今年 は 、開催 される んです ー 。 クゥー ！ 楽しみ ぃ 。

入場 料 を 払う と ワイン グラス が もらえて 、

ダウンタウン の 道路 に ローカルの ワイナリー や ビール の Brewery が テイスティング の スタンド を 出して 、歩き ながら たくさん ワイン と ビール を 飲む という 夢 の ような イベント です 。

今 の アパート に 引っ越して きて から は 歩いて 行ける ので 、

夫婦 共に 飲む 量 を 気にしなくていい ので 、めっちゃ 毎年 酔っ払ってます 。 8月 に 入る と 私たち の 夏休み も もう 終わり と いう 感じ な のです が 、

夏 休み の 最後 を 締めくくる Happy な イベント です 。 とっても 楽しみ です 。

と いう こと で 今年 は 勉強 を して タップ を 踊って 、ダウン タウン の カフェ に 通い 、ちょっと 近場 に ビール を 飲み に 行ったり ハイキング し に 行ったり …と 平和な 夏 に なり そうです が 、

夏 休み 1 日 目 から スタート して 続けて いる こと が あるんです よ 。
