1 K 。 見たい 見たい 、 K の 文字 見たい です 。 一般 的 な ね 、 YouTube チャンネル やってます ！ って 感覚 から する と 1,000 人 とかって 別に そんな 大した 数字 でも ない かも しれない です けど 、

私 に とって は すごい こと です 。

と いう こと で 、ここ で 皆様 に お 願い です 。

毎週 アップロード して いる ね 、この ポッドキャスト の エピソード を YouTube に も アップ している って 、ただ それ だけ の チャンネル なんです が 、 当初 この ポッドキャスト を 始めた 時 に 、アメリカ で は ポッドキャストって 結構 メジャー と いうか 、そんなに 普段 聞かない よって 人 でも 、ああ 、ポッドキャスト ね 。 って 知名度 が ある 、

そういう 媒体 だった んです けど 、

日本 って 、今 は ね 、ポッドキャスト も 増えて きている みたいです けど 、 始めた 頃 は 日本 で は 、あと は アメリカ に 住んで いる 日本 の 方 も ポッドキャスト 自体 を 知ら ない 人 も 多くて 、

YouTubeに も エピソード を アップロード した 方 が 、YouTubeの 方 が 聴き やすい よ 、YouTubeの 方 が 慣れて て いい よ 〜って いう 方 が 多い んじゃないか な と 思って です ね 、 そういう 理由 で YouTube チャンネル も 作った んです 。

で 、 ありがたい こと に 本当に 少しずつ です が 登録 して くださる 方 が 増 て 、

で 、ありがたい こと に もう すぐ 1000 人 と なる わけです 。

なんか です ね 、で 、ここ から 私 の 悩み と いう か 、皆さん に ご 相談 なんです けど 、

ちょっと 心 の 中 で 葛藤 が ある と いう か 、モヤモヤ している と いう か 、どう しよう か なー と 思っている こと が あって です ね 、

まず 、大前提 として 、4989 American Life podcast は 、まぁ 、その 名 の 通り ポッドキャスト な わけです よ 。

私 は 個人 的に ポッドキャスト が 好き で 、今 まで も 色々 聴いてて 、もちろん これ から も 色々 聴きたい んです けど 、 そう 、だ から 「ポッドキャスト 」という 何て 言う んですか 、媒体 ？ 形式 ？ に こだわりたい と 言う か 、 ずっと 、できる 限り この ポッドキャスト を 、ポッドキャスト で 続けて いきたい な と 思っている んです 。 でも 、最近 YouTube に 登録 して くれる 方 も 増えて きて 、

欲 が ね 、人間 どうしても 出て くる わけで 、

あれ 、1 K が 見えて きた ぞ 。 いや 、1000 人 行った なら 、もっと 登録 者 数 増やしたい な 。 見たい な 。 もっと 聴いて くれる 人 、チャンネル に 来て くれる 人 増やしたい なって 思っちゃう んです よ 。 実際 、もう すぐ 1000 人 とかって 言ってます けど 、 YouTubeで 毎週 エピソード が 再生 されている の は 、調子 良くて 200 くらい 、普段 は 150 再生 くらい し かない です 。 更に 同じ 方 が 何回 か 再生 して くださって いる こと も ある ので 、全然 普段 の 再生数 は 少ない んです よね 。

皆さん 、恐らく ポッドキャスト 派 の 方 も リスナー さん 優しい です ね 、youtube の 方 も 一応 登録 して くれている から 登録者 数 が 伸びている んじゃないか な 、と 言った ところ です 。

せっかく チャンネル が あって 、サブスクライブ して くださっている 方 が いる なら 、

もっと 何 か 発信 して いきたい なー と ね 、なんか やっぱ 思う んです よね 。 ま ぁ 何でも いい から 何か アップ して みれば いい じゃん って 思われる かも しれない です けど 、 何 か や ろうか な ー と 考える と 結構 考えちゃって 。 現時点 で は ね 、スライドログ と 言う 、写真 の スライド ショー に 合わせて 私 が 説明 を している ビデオ が 4つ かな 、キャンプ の スライドログ なんですけど 、

それ が 上がって いて 、

別に それ も 再生 数 が ある わけで も ない んです けど 、ま ぁ それ は 自分 の 記録 的な 感じ でも 続けてたい と は 思う んです が 、 でも です よ 、

スライドログ は 既に もう ビデオ が 存在 する から いい と して 、

なんか 別の ビデオ を アップ する と して も 、

4989 の ポッドキャスト の チャンネル じゃ ん ？ って 思っちゃって 、 どういう こと か と いう と 、なんか 別に ポッドキャスト を 普段 聴いて て 登録 して くれた 人 は 別に ポッドキャスト 以外 の ビデオ とか 興味 ない かも だし 、

やっぱり 私 の 、この 4989 の 軸 は ポッドキャスト で 、ポッドキャスト が メイン な のに 、

ごちゃごちゃ 別の ビデオ も アップ しちゃう と 中途半端で 微妙に なっちゃ わない かな ー みたいな ね 。

わかります か ね 。 一 丁 前 に そんな 悩み と いう か 、考え が 頭 の 中 を めぐって います 。 そう なんです よ 、考える より 行動 しろって 感じ だ し 、 そもそも その 写真 の スライドショー ビデオ である 、スライドログ も 4 つ で 止まってる し 、

秋 から も また フル タイム で カレッジ の クラス 取る のに 、そんな ビデオ なんて 撮ってる 時間 ある の ？ 編集 して いる 時間 ある の ？ って 思います よ ね 、 その 通り ！

できる 自信 が ありません 。 たぶん ポッドキャスト を 毎週 更新 する こと で もう いっぱい いっぱいだ と 思う んです けど 、

なん です けど 、 なんか 、 あー せっかく 登録者 さん が 増えて きて いる のに 勿体 無い な ー なんて 思ったり も して 。

いや 、わかってます 。 時間 は 有限 。

睡眠 大事 。

でも ね ー 、 私 色々 考える こと が 好きで 、 アイデア を 出す こと が 好きで 、

思いつく と やり たく なっちゃ う んです よね 。

そう 、だから 4989 の YouTube 、どう したら いい と 思います か ？ ちなみに ね 、実は もう 1 つ やりたい こと が あって 、それ が ね 、びっくり する ほど 進んで ない んです よね 。 もう かれこれ 3 年 と かずっと 考えて いる こと で 、

それ も ね 、4989 と は 別で です けど 、並行 して 少しずつ でも いい ので やれたら いい なぁ と 思っている んです が 、

そう な の 。

時間 は 有限 。

睡眠 大事 。

ちょっと さ 、やりたい こと が たくさん あり すぎて 何 を したい の か わから なく なっちゃう 、 そんな アラフォー な んです けど 、

でも 自分 の アイデア を 大切に したい よ ね 、せっかく 思いついた んだ から 、形 に したい なぁ 、やっぱり 。 ちょっと 、それ も 、近々 、何の ビジョン も 見え ない 状態 かも しれません が 、皆さん に お 伝え させて ください 。 と いう こと で 、オープニング から 長く なりました 。 私 が 皆さん に お 伝え したい こと 、お 願い したい こと は 、 YouTubeの 登録 、まだ の 方 は お 願い します 。 と いう こと です 。

とりあえず 1 K を とっぱ して 、お 祝い に 美味しい ケーキ を 食べたい です 。 よろしく お 願い します 。 今日 の エピソード で は 、この 前 久しぶりに ダイソー に 行った んです けど 、なんだか んだ 言っても 、やっぱり ダイソーって すごい な 、 結局 ダイソー しか 勝た ん ！ だ な 。 と いう お 話 を したい と 思います 。 その他 アラフォー on Campus の コーナー も 予定 して います 。 ★結局 Daiso しか 勝た ん ！

この 前 久しぶり に ダイソー に 行き まして 、その お 話 を したい んです けど 、 先日 、前 も ちょっと 話した か な 、カリフォルニア の 上の方 、上の方って 北 です ね 、結構 北の方 まで プチ 旅行 に 行ってきました 。 Mt.Shastaと いう エリア で 、

今回 は Mt. Shasta で は なく 、 Mt. Eddy と いう 別の 山 に 山登り する こと が 目的 の 旅 だった んです が 、

帰り に Sacramento に 寄って 帰る こと に なり まして 、

Sacramento って カリフォルニア の 州都 が ある 町 な んです けど 、 大きな 町 と いう こと で 、大きな 町 だ と 何 が ある ？ はい 、ダイソー という こと で 、ダイソー に も 寄って 帰ってきた わけです よ 。

皆さん おなじみ の 100 円 ショップ 、ダイソー です が 、

ダイソー は 海外 に も 展開 して まして 、アメリカ だけ じゃなくて 結構 色々な 国 に あります よね 。 で 、私 が 住んで いる カリフォルニア も もちろん あり まして 、

カリフォルニア は ね 、日本 人 も たくさん 住んでる し 、アジア 人 も たくさん 住んでる し で 、需要 も ある から 結構 店舗 ある んです よね 。

いや 、本当に 恵まれて いる と 思う んです けど 、

と は 言って も 、 私 の 家 から は 車 で 1 時間 ちょ と かな 、 空いて いれば 。

その くらい かかり まして 、普段 の 行動 範囲 で よく 行きます って 感じ で は ないです 。 うち の 周り に 住んで いる 日本人 の 方 たち も 、よく 行く 人 も いれば そんなに 行かない よって 人 も いる と思います が 、 我が家 は たま ー に しか 行か ないで す 。

でも 、 その たま ー に 行く の が 楽しい ん です よ ね 。

毎回 さ 、何 、ダイソー って やっぱ すごい じゃ ん 。 って 、もう ワクワク が 止まら ない わけです よ 。

アメリカ でも 1 ドル ショップ あります し 、時々 何か 必要な もの が ある と 行きます けど 、 作り が ね 、ちょっと 品質 が 、あ 、やっぱり 1 ドル ね 。 って 感じます ね 。 あと は 便利 商品 と か 、 ちょっと デザイン が 工夫 されてる と か 、 ああいう 100 円 ショップ ならでは の ね 、 そい う の が あまり アメリカ で は 見ない か なって 感じ です 。 今回 も です ね 、ダイソー 行って きまして 、

なんて 私 は 安上がりな 女 な んでしょう って 思います が 、欲しかった もの が 全て ダイソー で 手に入る と いう 、 なんとも 、あ 、そう 、ダイソー に あった の 。

そして 私 ダイソー の もの で 満足な の 。 みたいな 、結果 ダイソー じゃ ん 。 って 悟りました 。 やっぱね 、日本 人 は ダイソー に 行けば なんとか なる んです よ 。 そい う こと です 。

何 を 買った か と いう と 、

まず ね 、お玉 置き です 。

ずっと 探して た んです よ 、お玉 に 限らず 、料理 している とき に 使う 木べら とかね 、ちょっと 混ぜた スプーン とかね 、置く 場所 が なくて 、

アメリカ に も お 玉置き って 売ってる んです けど 、

なんか しっくり こ なくて 、デザイン が 。 の 割に 高くて 、

で 、ずっと Thrift で なんか いい 感じ の お皿 、ハンドメイド の 陶芸っぽい お皿 で お玉置き に 使える ような もの が ない かなって 探してて 、 Thriftで 気 に 入った もの が そう 簡単に 見つかる はず も なく 、

お玉 置き 難民 だった んです が 、

ダイソー で シリコン の お玉置き が 売ってて 、しかも 同じく シリコン の 鍋掴み と セット で 。

シンプル で 、あれ 、これ で いい じゃん 。 みたいな 。

そして 買って 帰って きて 、使って る んです が 、

あれ 、普通に 使い やすい じゃん 。 みたいな 。

あと は 、キッチン で 履く スリッパ 。

スリッパ も ずっと 探して た んです よ 。

ずっと ビーサン を 履いて た んです けど キッチン で 。

でも ちょっと なんか 別の スリッパ に したい なーって 思って て 、 イメージ 的に は 、モロッコ の スリッパ 、なんで したっけ 、バブーシュ 、あんな 感じ の かかと を 潰して 履く ような 、ああいう の が 昔 から 好きで 可愛い な ー と 思って たんです けど 、

日本 なら ともかく ね 、こっち だ と なかなか 見つからない し 、雑貨屋さん とか 通販 とか で 見かけたり しても お値段 が ね 、

いや 、私 の キッチン スリッパ に そんなに かけられません わ 。 って 感じ で 、

うむ む む む ーって 感じ だった んです けど 、 ダイソー で 見つけた んです 。

バブーシュ 風 の デザイン で 、黒 の 合皮 な んです が 、

これ が ね 、なかなか の デザイン 、そして クオリティ な んです よ 。

日本 の 値段 で 300 円 でした 。

こっち は 100 円 の もの が $1.50 と 割高な ので 、$3 で は なくて $4、 いや 、$5 だった か な 、 日本 に 比べたら お 得 感 は 少ない です が 、

でも でも でも でも 、

この クオリティ で この 値段 は 、破格 だ と 思います 。 これ は ね 、良い 買い物 を しました 。 我が家 は 、アメリカ の アパート に ありがちな 、

基本 カーペット な 造り で 、

キッチン だけ が タイル って いう か 、タイル ？ タイル 風 の 固い ビニール で 、

キッチン で 色々 して いる 時 だけ スリッパ が 必要な ので 、それ 程 、ずーっと 履いてる って わけで は ない んです けど 、 でも これ なら 旦那さん の 分 も 一緒に 2 足 買って くれば 良かった って 思いました 。 これ 話そう って 思って 、 いや ー 、 どう 考えて も 可愛い よ な 、 この スリッパって 思って ネット で 検索 したら 、 やっぱり みんな 同じ こと を 思って た みたいで 、

ブログ とか 、まとめ サイト とか で 、

ダイソー の バブーシュスリッパ が コスパ や ばい って 記事 が たくさん 出て きました 。 だ よね ー 。

これ は ね 、良い 発見 でした 。

私 が 購入 した 特徴 の ある もの は その くらい な んです けど 、

あと は 、旦那さん が 茶こし を 買ってたり 、たこ焼き する 時 の 油引き を 買ってたり してました ね 。 そう 、その辺 も ね 、

やっぱ ダイソー わかって る ねぇ 。 って 思います よ ね 。 それ から 文房具 と か 、お弁当 グッズ と かも 無駄に 買い たく なっちゃいます 。 文房具 に ついて は ね 、以前 この 4989 でも 、アメリカ の 文房具 の 質 の 悪さ を 語った こと が ありました が 、 日本 の 文房具 は 最高 で 、基本 の 、その 文房具 に 求める レベル が 高い から です か ね 、

ダイソー の 文房具 でも 、もう ウッキウキ しちゃう 程 の 高品質 です 。

そう な の よ 、

文房具 コーナー 、危ない 。

気づく と どんどん 買っちゃう から 。

今回 は 心 を 鬼 に して 、可愛い 付箋 の セット を 1 つ だけ 買いました 。 えらい 。

自分 を コントロール する 力 ！

アメリカ 組 、 いや 、 海外 組 に とって ダイソー は 、 あそこ は なんだ ろ 、 ここ は ディスニーランド かな ？ って レベル で 胸 高まる 場所 です ね 。

結局 ダイソー しか 勝た ん ！ です 。

こっち の 高級 品 を 買う の と 比べたら 微妙 かも です けど 、

そう じゃ なくて 一般的な お店 で 買う ような 、ダイソー と 比べて 2 倍 3 倍 くらい の 商品 だったら 全然 ダイソー の 方が クオリティ 高かったり するし 、

あと は 当たり前 です けど 、

日本 の 生活 スタイル に 合った 商品 を 売って いる ので 、

なかなか 普段 見かけ ない なって いう ような もの も 売ってます から ね 。 今回 で いう と たこ焼き やる とき の 油 引き と かね 、

垂れ ない お 醤油 さ し とか さ 、

そういう もの も ある ので 、

ああ あ 、 ダイソー 様 ！ って 思います ね 。 もう ね 、やっぱ ね 、ダイソー な んです よ 。 なんだ かんだ 言って 。

庶民 丸出し です けど 。

私 だって ね 、ブルジョア な 発言 したい です よ 。 高級 キッチン 雑貨 屋 とか で 色々 揃えて みたいです けど 、まぁ そんな こと は できない し 、

結局 ダイソー で 見つかっちゃう んです よ 、必要な もの 。

そして 、使い やすい んです よ 、満足な の 。

庶民 だ ね ー 。

家 の 中 色々 、こだわり の お気に入り の もの で 過ごしたい んです けど 、 結局 ダイソー な んです よ 、

庶民 なんです よ 。

それ が 幸せな んです 。

でも ま ぁ 、考え方 に よって は アメリカ に 住んで て ダイソー 商品 を 使ってる なら 、

それ は ”こだわり の お気に入り の 商品 ”って こと に なる んじゃない ですか ね 。 どう です か ね 、

ダイソー って 、なんでもっと アメリカ 色々な ところ に 進出 し ない んです か ね 。 別に 日本っぽ さ を 前面 に 出して いか なくて も 、日常 の 生活 用品 で 、アメリカ の 1 ドル ショップ と 戦える と思う んです けど ね 。 普通に 全然 アジア 人 とかい ない 町 でも ダイソー あったら 流行る と思う けど なぁ 。

でも ね 、 今 の ところ 、 日本人 が 多い ところ と か 、 大 都市 に しか ない から 、

ダメな んです か ね 。

そんなに 上手く は いか ない んです か ね 。

この コーナー で は 、アラフォー の 私 が アメリカ人 の 若者 に 混ざって カレッジ で 勉強 する 様子 に ついて お話して います 。 今日 は です ね 、直接 カレッジ 生活 に ついて 関係 ある か と 言ったら そう で も ない んです が 、

つい 先日 、先日って いう か 昨日 か 。 の 出来事 、失敗 に ついて お 話したい と 思います 。 この 夏 、パブリックスピーキング って クラス を 取って る んです が 、 昨日 、スピーチ 課題 の 提出 日 だった んです よ 。

今回 の スピーチ 課題 は 、与えられた トピック に 対して リサーチ を して 、色々な 文献 を 引用して 原稿 を 作って 、それ を スピーチしてる の を ビデオ に 撮るって やつ だった んです が 、 結構 苦戦 し まして 、提出 日 ギリギリ まで かかった んです 。

で 、先生 の 都合 に より 、当初 の 期限 より も 1 日 延びた んです よ 。

あ 、期限 が 延びて 良かった 。 って 思って て 、で 、私 は その 延びた 提出 期限 の 夕方 に Submit して 、オンライン クラス な ので 、word の ドキュメント とか 、動画 ファイル を アップロード する んです が 、

それ を ね 、提出 しました 。 提出 した んです けど 、あれ ？ って なり まして 、

授業 の ビデオ と か 、課題 と か 、クイズ と か が ひとまとめ に なっている マネージメント システム みたいな 、授業 の ポータルサイト みたいな の が あって 、

そこ に 成績 の ページ も あり まして 、

提出 した 各 課題 に 対する 成績 が 一覧 で 表示 されている ページ なんです が 、 その 今回 提出 した 課題 の ところ に 「late 」って 赤い 表示 が 出て いる わけです よ 。 最初 は 、あれ 、遅れてる はずな いよな 、だって 、先生 が メール で 1 日 提出 期限 を 延ばしますって 言ってたし 、 成績 の ページ に 表示 されている その 課題 の 提出 期限 も その 日 の 11：59になってるし、 たぶん 先生 が 1 日 延ばした って いう の を 、どこか 設定 の 更新 を し 忘れて る んだ 。 って 思って た んです よ 。

が しか し ！

そう で は なかった んです 。

私 の 思い込み ミス だった んです 。

今回 の 課題 の 正しい 提出 期限 は 、土曜日 の 午前 中 の 11:59 だった んです が 、

私 は それ を 夜 の 11：59と勘違いしてて、

だ から 余裕 ぶっこいて 土曜日 の 夕方 に 提出 して 、それ が 期限 オーバー と なって 「 Late 」と なっていた んです 。

これ は ね 、言い訳 させて ください 。

それ まで の 宿題 や 課題 、クイズ など の 期限 は 夜 の 11：59だったんです。

管理 システム 、マネージメント システム の 課題 の 画面 に も 、成績 一覧 の 画面 に も 確かに これ まで の やつ に は 11:59 PM って 表示 されてる んです よ 。 でも 今回 の 、その 延長 さ れた やつ は 、11：59amって書いてあって、 これ だけ AM な の かい ！ って 感じ な んです よ 。

いや ー 、 本当 びっくり 。

こんな トラップ が ある と は 。

いや ね 、 確かに 、 先生 から の 提出 期限 延ばします よ メール に は 、 提出 期限 を 土曜日 の 11:59 am まで 延ばすって 書いて ありました よ 、 amって ね 。 だ から 私 の 確認 ミス てい うか 、思い込み な んです けど 、

でも さ ー 、 でも さ ー 、 でも さ ー 、

他の 課題 は 11：59 pm な んだ よ 、そりゃ 勘違い します よね ？ しかも 、が び ー んって なった の が 、 提出 期限 を 遅れた 場合 は 0 ポイント です ！ って クラス 初め の 説明 の 中 に 書かれて 、 あー ー 、 終わった ー

って 思って 、

ちょっと 意識 遠のき そうだった んです が 、

先生 に 「ごめん な さーい 、勘違い だ よー 、どうにか 見逃して くれよー 」って いう 連絡 を した ところ 、 you are fine と いう お 言葉 を いただきました 。 ほっと した ー 。

あぶな ー い 。

これ まで の 努力 が 水 の 泡 に なる ところ だった 。

きっと 、 この 夏 の クラス 、 ここ まで 私 結構 真面目に やってきて いる し 、 提出 物 も 出して いる し 、

課題 も 先生 の インストラクション に ちゃんと 沿って やって る から 、

その 真面目 さ を 認めて もらって 、今回 は 見逃して くれた んでしょう けど 、

あぶな ー い 。

ほっと しました 。 ま ぁね 、そんな 出来事 が ありました 。 そう なんです よ 、この 出来事 を 踏まえて 、私 が ずっと 思っていた こと 、思っていた アメリカ に 対する 提案 を 今日 は 声高らかに したい と 思います 。 24 時間 表現 を 取り入れません か ？ 24 時間 表現 と いう の は 、説明 する まで も ないで すが 、午後 の 1 時 から は 13 時 、 14 時 、 15 時 って 24 時間 で 1 日 の 時間 を 表現 する やつ です ね 。 アメリカ で は 軍 、ミリタリー 用語 な んです よね 、ミリタリー で は 24 時間 で 言うって 聞いた こと あります 。 あまり 私 ミリタリー の 知り合い いない ので よく 知ら ないで すが 。 でも 、一般 の 生活 で は 、みんな 12 時間 表現 で am /pm なんです よ 。

普通に 生活 して たら 、そんなに 間違う ような シチュエーション ない だろう なんて 思ってました が 、 こんな ところ で トラップ に ハマる とは 。

ね 、やっぱり 24 時間 表現 の 方 が いい です よ ね 。

日本 だ と 、午前 何時 、午後 何時 って am /pm と 同じ 言い方 も します けど 、 でも 24 時間 表現 も 一般的 です よ ね 。

話し言葉 で は あまり 使わ ない かも しれない です けど 、特に 文章 とか 画面 に 表示 される 時間 とか は 24 時間 です よね 。

絶対 その方 が いい と 思う ー 。

ビジネス とか だ と 、話し言葉 でも 間違い が ない ように 24 時間 で 伝えたり って します よね 。 完全なる これ は 予防 処置 です よ 。
